Dnf sorry I really didn’t enjoy the first 25% of the book and unfortunately I did not wish to continue reading. I wasn’t a fan of the writing style. I also didn’t connect with any characters. I don’t anticipate the story to peak my interest after what I did read. I haven’t thought of the book since I put it down which makes me not want to finish it in the future. I really appreciate the arc and I wish I did enjoy it more but unfortunately it’s not for me. I’d be willing to try something else from the author just not this book. Sorry again I really hate to dnf a book but I want to love what I’m reading not counting down the pages until it’s over.

This book tried so hard to be politically correct, I SCOFFED.....

I enjoyed the mystery, but good grief.....

It's one thing to have representation that is well thought out and written. It's something else when you just throw it in to have it when it's just for heck of it.

If it weren't for that, I would have given it a 3 star rating. Just "meh" overall. I enjoyed the first one so much and I wish I could say the same of the third installment. I'll go back and try the second, but probably won't go beyond that with the series. We shall see.

DM Me for Murder - 3.7 stars (rounded to 4 stars)

A true crime influencer Coco takes a part on the investigation of a murder, another social media influencer LaTàge. Through the whole process with ups and downs and with all help of her friends, she managed to identify the killer.

For me personally I find hard to connect with the characters and it took me a time to get in. Overall, I do like this book for the idea, it’s something we have these days – a huge impact of social media on our lives. But as much as I enjoy reading mysteries, this book is just not my cup of tea.

Thank you NetGalley for providing ARC f this book for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book. My issue with requesting books on NG, is I don't realize a book is a part of a series until after I have started to read it. And sometimes that isn't a problem, as it could be a standalone, other times I am so lost and give up after a couple chapters. This was also a part of a series, the third one, and it CAN be read by itself, it probably should have been read after the first two. I did like the story, the characters, and the idea, but I am only giving it three stars. It wasn't my favorite.

This was a cozy read, but maybe a cozy YA read?

This is the third book in the series, but you can read it without having read the other two books (I did! Oopsies?)

It was a bit slow to start, but it is scene/character setting and then of course the murder. There is a lot of text type writing, versus actual book writing, it goes with the setting, however at times it was a bit meh to me, since it is a book, you know?

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars

I really enjoyed the concept of this book, it sounded really interesting and was different from books I’ve read previously

Whilst I enjoyed the plot it was the characters in this book which bought it down a bit for me, I just found that they weren’t the most loveable characters and were a little out of touch at times (it makes sense though as almost every character is famous in some way)

Despite this though, the main plot of the book was done well, I enjoyed the twists as the case unfolded and thought this was quite a cosy murder mystery overall

An engaging, fast paced cosy mystery for the TikTok generation! When she stumbles across the body of a fellow influencer, Coco is catapulted right into the middle of a murder investigation. With her friends to help her get close to the suspects and a surprising twist, it's a quick and easy read. I may not be there target market for this book as it leaned a bit too Gen Z slang heavy for me but was still enjoyable!

Thanks to Level Best Books and NetGalley for making this book available to read. I had a good time reading this ARC.

Coco Cline finds herself in the middle of a media storm after she finds LaTage's dead body. Coco's past sleuthing experience and her connections to both law enforcement and the influencer world undeniably qualify her to conduct an investigation and find out who killed LaTage. This story is an inside look into the world of influencers, fame, their secret histories, and all the drama that affects their lives.

From the beginning, this story is very entertaining. The characters' personalities jump out of the pages. You can totally picture these people behind the screen doing their influencing shiznit as if they were real people. The author took the time even to give them a modern dialect featuring all new words and included expressions referring to pop culture. "Holy Eras Tour!" That was pretty clever to me.

As Coco uncovers the layers of LaTage's life, the reader not only learns the mystery behind the murder and the influencer's life but also gets to know more about Coco's own personal struggles. This is important to note if you're coming into this story without reading the previous books. You don't necessarily need to read the first two books to appreciate Coco Cline. This story gives you enough information to connect with the character and creates interest in following all her previous mysteries.

Another aspect of this story that I found really cool is the feeling it gives you that you are consuming influencer media. For example, there's a scene where Coco is making a meal out of a meal kit, and the narration totally feels like an influencer advertising a sponsorship. It really made me chuckle; it is like we can't escape this "influencing" business. The author found so many creative ways to portray this lifestyle in a funny way but also sent us a message about the dangers of crafting a public persona.

Ultimately, this story is an inside look into the world of influencers with all its positives and what can negatively impact your personal life and mental health. Other themes featured are bullying, small-town struggles, complex family dynamics, and friendship. Let me not forget that some romance is sprinkled here, too. There is a huge plot twist, so hold your wigs in place. No cap, Shooketh!

A fun weekend read for social media influencer fans and mystery thriller lovers.

A cozy mystery. I was able to snag the ARC on netgalley and it came at the perfect time. It was a rainy day and I made myself a cup of tea and devoured this book. If you like books of this genre then you will enjoy this one too.

This book started with a murder from the very first few chapters so I thought it was unputdownable but then I was wrong. It was such a slow burn mystery but I submerge myself into the story though I struggle for while. The thing about mystery books is that somehow they keep you guessing what happened and it was such my happy pill.

This book just wasn’t my speed. It was too current event/pop culture heavy that some of the references in it have already been done and over with in between the time of the book being written and it being released.

What a fun read! The story follows influencer Coco Cline. Coco arrives for a meeting with a mega- influencer and finds them dead! Now she is trending for all the wrong reasons. Coco decides to recruit her her friends dubbed the ‘the sleuth squad’ to help her solve the crime!

When Coco Cline finds her new client celebrity influencer LaTage dead she's not considered a suspect however the public circle social media thinking she is involved. With her reputation plummeting she decides to team up with her friends to dive into Latage's world to uncover secrets, scandal and hopefully solve a murder.

A fun, light-hearted and unique take on a who done it murder mystery. Murder mystery books do not usually come as a cosy read however this one did, it made me laugh was modern and still had me intrigued in the story of trying to figure out who done it.
At times it was a bit slower and there were scenes that seemed unnecessary to the overall story but I think this was made up for with humour and a diverse and dynamic cast of characters.

I would recommend this book as an easy and quick ready when someone doesn't want to read something more heavy and I look forward to reading this authors previous books in the series.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC

This book was interesting, but I felt that it tried a little too hard to be "hip". The premise itself was intriguing, but the narrator felt somewhat out of touch with reality and the young people of today. 3 out of 5 stars.

A lighthearted take on the cozy, small town mystery, DM Me for Murder follows lifestyle influence and part-time amateur sleuth Coco Cline as she tries to help the police solve the murder of her famous client. Since Coco and her client, LaTàge, are social media influencers, the book relies heavily on classic LA stereotypes and name-drops celebrities, brands, and a lot of GenZ slang throughout, which can sometimes make the writing feel clunky and pacing stagnant. There are some glaringly obvious red herrings in the plot that make you wonder if the characters are being purposefully obtuse, or if everyone in this sleepy town is really this incapable of following up on some simple leads. But the cast of characters are mostly well drawn out, and the writing is strongest when it focuses on the witty banter between Coco and her friends and family, or her work with the police, rather than the overwrought descriptions of the influencer lifestyle or the attempts at overly trendy catchphrases. Overall, an enjoyable, quick read.

Armed with her phone and her fabulous friends (dubbed the Sleuth Squad), Coco dives into LaTàge's glamorous, over-the-top world of influencer-turned-celebrity. Who in Central Shores would want the LA native dead? What skeletons had LaTagé been hiding?
Whodunit? It wasn't her or was it?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This in no way affects!! my opinion of this book.

Super cute book with a stellar story in the pages. I really enjoyed the main character because she was well written and relatable.

It was so wonderful to be back in Central Shores—like coming home to see friends! Coco Cline and her sleuth squad never fail to entertain. The addition of some new secondary characters to this story added an extra layer of charm. I particularly liked seeing the development of the relationship between Coco and her sister, Thea.

The mystery was fresh, twisty, and fabulous. The pacing was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my read. Sarah E. Burr is a voice to take note of in the cozy mystery world.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an eARC.

This is a super cute cozy mystery that follows Coco as she investigates yet another murder in her hometown. This time it’s the murder of another influencer. This is part of a series but definitely can be read as a stand alone book.
I found the characters to be fun and loveable.
The plot is fast paced and kept my attention. I did not figure out who did it until the end which was definitely nice as well .
I will definitely be reading more by this author!
I received a ARC of this book, all opinions are my own
