Coco Cline is over the moon when she learns mega-influencer LaTàge wants Center of Attention Consulting to handle her rebranding campaign. But things come crashing down when Coco arrives for a brainstorming meeting only to find LaTàge dead on the floor of her rented mansion. While the Central Shores police don’t suspect Coco of the disturbing crime, the Internet has other ideas. Coco is horrified to see the hashtag #CocoClineistheProblem trending everywhere on socials, with anonymous accounts accusing her of having a hand in LaTàge’s tragic death.
Armed with her phone and her fabulous friends (dubbed the Sleuth Squad), Coco dives into LaTàge’s glamorous, over-the-top world of influencer-turned-celebrity. Who in Central Shores would want the LA native dead? What skeletons had LaTagé been hiding?

This book was cute and well written. Although some of the slang got on my nerves, it still never crossed my mind to put the book down. I read the first one of the series and skipped the second. After reading this one, I'm going back to #2.. excited for more about Coco and friends!

This book follows CoCo Cline who is a social media influencer who ends up being in the right place at the wrong time leaving her as a suspect for murder by her followers. This leaves her to trying out her sleuthing skills to get to the bottom of things.

This was my first attempt at reading something dubbed as a “cosy mystery” so I decided that it would be best read in a cosy setting (ie. blanket, comfy chair and firelight on my tv, thanks YouTube). This is also my first book in the series so I’m going to attempt the other two next to make up for it!

I enjoyed this book as it hit a few happy spots for me, such as a little romance, friendship, some laugh out loud moments, the realism in how quick the internet can go bad, and some twists.

The only real niggles for me with this book was the slang and the set up was a little slow. But that’s about it for the negatives for me with this read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Level Best Books for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy of this book!

This plot was really good and engaging. I wish I had read the first two so I could get the full character development too. But cozy mysteries are so cute and I love this.

I had really enjoyed previous books in this series so I was looking forward to this one. This one, however, does not live up to the rest of the series. It’s very slow and way too long. The investigation itself lagged and the suspects weren’t all that compelling. I found myself losing interest several times. This one was not my favorite but I will continue with the series.

I read #FollowMe for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 1) last year and I recently listened to the audiobook for #TagMe for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 2) so that I'd be prepared for the next one. I was looking forward to it and I was not disappointed.

Social media consultant, Coco Cline, is hired to help social media mega-influencer, LaTage, with her rebranding. Unfortunately, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Coco arrives for a meeting with LaTage and finds her lifeless body. Coco's image is on the line when the internet is quick to accuse her of murdering LaTage, so Coco and her friends set out to uncover the truth behind this heinous crime.

This book wastes no time jumping right into the mystery and I loved it! It had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I did guess who the killer was fairly early, but I'd make a terrible sleuth because my guess was based mostly on a gut feeling, not concrete evidence or clues. There was one thing the character said that made me suspicious, but other than that, I didn't figure out the details of the crime until all was revealed. There were also times when I questioned my guess because there were plenty of suspects and motives to consider. The twists and turns had my head spinning in the best way.

Sleuthing with Coco and her friends is always a good time. Jasper remains my favorite character with his larger than life personality balanced with his genuine concern for his best friend, Coco. I always get excited when Jasper enters a scene because I know he'll make me smile or even laugh out loud. In this book, Coco also does some sleuthing with a member of her family. It was good to see them bonding. There was one character who was in previous books, but did not play a major role in this one. I missed this character's presence, but the end of the book left me feeling hopeful.

I love the way Coco works with the authorities. They recognize her expertise with social media and they welcome her help because of it. Likewise, Coco respects the authorities. Together, they work to bring the killer to justice.

Diversity is something Sarah E. Burr includes in her books and that is no different in this one. It never feels forced. These characters, who feel like real people, just blend in, which is the way it should be. Sometimes disability tends to get left out of the diversity conversation, but not this time. As someone with a physical disability myself, I was so happy to see a character who is a strong, successful business owner, and just happens to be a wheelchair user, interacting with everyone else. He has a small role in this book, but this inclusion speaks volumes.

It's hard to imagine technology feeling cozy, but Sarah E. Burr accomplishes just that in her Trending Topic Mysteries. Coco uses technology, teamwork, and good old-fashioned sleuthing to uncover the truth. Central Shores, Delaware, where she and her friends reside, is a cozy, welcoming community in every way. DM Me for Murder is set in September, but it can certainly be enjoyed any time of the year. I'm hoping to visit Central Shores again soon with another installment in this modern cozy series.

DM Me for Murder was a delightful cozy mystery.

The story was intriguing and the characters felt as if I actually knew them.

What a fun novel.

This book was the first book I've read by Sarah E Burr, but I am excited to go back and read her others. DM For Murder is actually the second book in the series about various forms of phone lingo. She also has other young adult series that also look really good. I gave this book 4 stars. I can't wait to recommend this book when people ask for cozy mysteries.

This is not my usual genre but the cover drew me in and made me want to check it out. However, this book had alot of references to social media terms due to the MC being an influencer and it was just not my cup of tea. I enjoyed the mystery of the book itself but I think between the pages it just went a little all over the place for me. Thanks so much for letting me ARC the book!

A fun murder mystery!

DM Me For Murder by Sarah E. Burr is third in the series of Trending topic mysteries that follows Coco Cline uncover the mystery surrounding a social influences death. I really enjoyed how this played out and unravelled however while I realise this book revolves around social media and influences I found the amount of references and over explaination of how social media is and works to be a bit too much and repetitive.
Overall and fun read and would recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to have an ARC in return for an honest review.

DM Me For Murder is the third book of A Trending Topic Mystery series, but it can also be read as a standalone. It promises a cozy mystery with modern elements. It's take on mystery is not often, and this "cozy-home influencer finds herself in a mystery" plot gives very beachy vibes. But first, I would like to thank Netgalley and Level Best Books for providing me with a digital review copy of this fun-cozy mystery book in exchange for my honest review.

To start with— this book had so much potential. I did love the theme; however, I was not too fond of the way the subject was handled.

We have Coco Cline; she is between Paige Lorenze and Nancy Drew. Coco is Little Miss Sunshine, and she knows it. She even acknowledges her annoyance from time to time. I liked how self-aware Coco was. But it did not make up for her annoyingness and sometimes shallowness. Considering she is an influencer, shallowness is understandable in the marketing industry. But she constantly compared herself or her friends or everything with other things. That is a realistic human approach, but the bigger problem with Coco and the book is that we become familiar with every minor detail—and most of the time, unrelated to the plot. The reader is exposed to every thought of Coco. So, I think the book could have been much shorter. This "too much inside information" made it harder to immerse into the story.
The dialogue was sometimes weak, and some words were too repetitive. Like "omigod" or "sleuth." And even though the book heavily relies on social media, some basic information about the app's usage was missing which created a problem for the mystery's resolution.

The mystery was intriguing, but in the end, I expected something more shocking rather than what we got. I would give this book 2.5 stars but not lower; hence, the three stars. I wish this book could live up to its potential.

This book was a fun little murder mystery that was equal parts cozy and intriguing. I enjoyed the mystery itself, and the ending was a very nice wrap to the story! I wasn't able to guess who the murderer was until just before the main character discovered it, so I enjoyed trying to piece together the mystery for the majority of the book!

As social media is referenced in the title, this book is heavily influenced by social media, generational speaking, and texting. I did not enjoy the amount of references to millennials versus gen z, text speaking by the characters, or over-explanation of how social media works. That being said, some of these moments in the book could be helpful to someone who is not as familiar with the current state of social media. I also expected some of this based on the title when I chose to read this book! There were also some dialogues which read awkwardly and not like anyone would speak in real life to a close friend. These didn't ruin the book at all, but they were noticeable in my opinion.

Overall, this was a fun murder mystery and I am excited to check out other novels with the same main characters!

This is my first book by this author and I didn’t realize it was part of a series. It was a good story, but not didn’t hold my attention very long.

Murder is the farthest thing from Coco Cline’s mind that Monday morning. Instead, she is thrilled that mega-influencer LaTage wants to use Coco’s company, Center of Attention Consulting, to launch her rebranding. Then Coco arrives at their meeting to find LaTage dead. With the police asking Coco for help understanding the online world that LaTage inhabited, she can’t help but dig just a little deeper. Will she be able to uncover a clue that will lead to the killer?

I was really looking forward to this book, and it didn’t disappoint. Coco and her friends are in top form, and I loved watching their relationships develop. The plot was fantastic with a couple of great twists and many suspects that Coco had to sort through to reach the logical solution. If you’re looking for a warm beach getaway, the setting with definitely appeal to you as well. I love seeing cozy mysteries expanding their themes. However, if you aren’t super into social media, you’ll still understand everything that happens here, and there’s plenty of talking to suspects face to face. Fans will be delighted with this book. If you want a fun, modern cozy, you’ll be glad this series trended to the top of your to be read pile.

DM Me for Murder by Sarah E. Burr provides a fresh take to the cozy mystery genre. I love cozy mysteries with unique concepts so I was interested in the social media/influencer amateur sleuth. This is the third book in Sarah E. Burr’s Trending Topic Mysteries series. This book reminded me of the Barbiecore aesthetic as it painted vivid scenes of opulent hotels and trendy eateries that perfectly mirror the protagonist’s glamorous influencer lifestyle.

Coco, the amateur sleuth, may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but her tenacity and determination to uncover the truth shines through. Her friends and co-sleuths deliver a youthful energy and keep readers on their tones as they navigate the investigation.

While some may find certain sections of narration to be filler, Burr’s descriptive prose and attention to detail transports readers to Coco’s world.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for a lighthearted cozy mystery. DM Me for Murder is a great addition to the cozy mystery genre and I loved the blend of social media and mystery. I found the ending satisfying and Burr kept me interested until the end. There’s a chance I would check out the next book in the series. I would definitely be interested in reading other mysteries by Burr.

This book took me quite a while to get into and even then I wasn't really feeling it until around the 80/90% mark. It did have me trying to work out who the killer was throughout and in the end it was surprising however for me it did drag quite a bit from start to finish sadly. But I did like that the victim was found first chapter so it did throw you in right at the start of the book.

When Coco takes on a new client, that is a huge influencer, she didn’t expect things would start out so bad. One Coco arrives for their first meeting and finds the influencer dead, she knows she must solve this murder, in order to save her own standing as an influencer.

Who knew that the death of a Los Angeles influencer what hit so close to home for Coco? can Coco figure out who killed LaTage and why, could this be the end for Coco Cline, Influencer? Either way, there’s no happy ending for everyone.

I really adore this series. Coco is a 20 something moving into her 30s and her maturity, shows as she builds her own business acumen and starts to take on more than just the Internet. Helping other clients brand and build their own businesses has been intriguing and interesting to read about. Most of all I love how her personal life continues to move forward in each and every entry. I can’t wait for the next one!
