Thanks NetGalley for a digital ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

Coco is a true crime influencer who is investigating a murder of another big time social influencer. Through twist and turns, and light hearted situations during the experience, coco is determined to find out who is the killer in her town.

If you like crime, mystery, pop culture then this book is for you.

My personal thoughts of the book is that I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it. Some parts were dragging for me and I’m not into todays pip culture so somethings where cringy to me. Other than that I did have a few ah ha! Moments and the ending was a shocker.

It’s a great mystery story which can tie to our everyday lives because of the use of influencers and social media. It’s a book for that keeps you on your feet with one nagging question of who done it?

Thank you, NetGalley and Level Best Books for an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased, honest review.

DM Me for Murder follows true crime influencer Coco Cline as she takes on the murder investigation of her celebrity client, LaTage, after finding her deceased. After the news of Latage's death take over the internet and trending hashtags threaten to deviate the narrative in Coco's way; Coco decides to take matters into her own hands and solve Latage's murder with the help of her friends and police department.

Although the story focuses on solving a murder investigation, the narration feels lighthearted and provides comedic relief when needed. Jasper (Coco's friend) never failed to make me smile and giggle with his outgoing, humorous personality. However, the middle felt a little slow for me and was a bit hard to get through. I'm used to more action-packed mysteries, but this particular story was more laid back and not as dark as other thrillers I've come across (which was refreshing). The scenery narrations gave me The Summer I Turned Pretty beach vibes with the added bonus of a murder investigation plot line and pop culture references.

The plot twist towards the end of the book took me by surprise (in the best way possible!). Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to anyone who's just getting into mystery and thrillers and wants to ease their way into the genre. If you love pop culture, social media, true crime, and plot twists in a murder investigation, this book is for you!
