Jess & Will have just celebrated their wedding anniversary. Happily married with two children, Jess is the main earner putting in long hours & trips away, whereas Will works as a life coach as a stay at home dad. The morning after their anniversary Jess receives a stack of photos showing Will with another woman. Although Will tries to explain it is not how it seems, Jess is unreachable & Will ends up drowning his sorrows. At the bar he meets a man who takes pity on him & let's him stay at flat he is looking after for a friend. The input from Jess's friends & family & Will's new found friend widens the split until it seems the end.

The main characters really annoyed me. I know Jess had her reasons for taking Will's 'infidelity' as badly as she did but surely she should have let him try to explain. Will was an idiot! I know he was trying to follow his client confidentiality ethics but even a bit of explanation straight away might have helped. As for his 'Guardian Angel'- well if ever the saying, "what seems to be too good to be true probably is!" applies here. I'm not usually great at seeing through the twists but I certainly saw through this! Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book. It's not one of the author's best in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this book, however the middle seemed a bit repetitive, which I found annoying. Also, I felt that things escalated too quickly and wasn’t super believable. Other than that I did enjoy the story, the build up wasn’t bad (just a little slow and repetitive) but the ending and the twist were good. You think you know what’s going on then it changes on you and it was a good twist! I’ve read similar stories in the past, but this one did stand out comparatively.

If you’re looking for relationships with a side of jealousy, backstabbing and drama this one is for you! Nothing horror or smutty about it! I would definitely recommend this book!

This book got my interest from the beginning. A married couple celebrating their anniversary and you can clearly tell they love each other. But the next morning Jessica receives messages with photos of her husband with another women. After confronting him (he doesn’t admit to cheating) she makes him leave. Will leaves and goes out drinking where he meets a man that lets him stay in his place while he gets his crap together. Back at home with the kids someone starts watching Jessica. It kept me intrigued for sure! This book is definitely worth reading. I will definitely read more books by the author.

I loved everything about The Split by S.E. Lynes. The characters were great, and the plot was well developed. Five stars!

I am a huge Susie Lynes fan, and was thrilled to read this, her latest work. Again, I was swept up in the story and her brilliant writing style which brings her characters to life. When Jessica is sent photographs showing her husband, Will, is having an affair, her world is shattered. She kicks him out. Lena, her best friend, supports her, constantly reminding her of Will’s flaws. Will is befriended by the suave Ian, and finds himself entering a dangerous world way beyond his experience. The Split is a twisty, compelling tale of mystery and bare-faced lies, manipulation and murder, as well as increasing helplessness as the world conspires against both Will and Jessica. Above all, it’s a study of a relationship that falls rapidly apart when it is threatened. A lack of communication leading up to the discovery of the ‘betrayal’ and the complete refusal to discuss the situation when the photographs appear, are at the heart of the implosion of what was a good marriage. As the author herself notes, the importance of communication lies at the heart of this novel. Another great read from this author.

This is an amazing book with a storyline that draws the reader in from the outset. It is a clever and compelling read that I found difficult to put down.

The book focuses on a young couple Will and Jess and the plot unwinds with the points of view of each in turn. A young couple who have been together and shared secrets fall apart when some incriminating photos are sent anonymously to Jess, but why is Will not able to explain them?

What seems like an unfortunate and alarming chain of events and decisions made while being influenced by someone or something lead to a complex story that could be the end of Will and Jessica.

This is so well written and although the concept of the book seems to be so implausible, the idea of what happens and why the characters are brought to life with such skill and their own thoughts on each stage so clearly and cleverly written that the spiral of events seems inevitable. The characters, especially Jess and Will, are in turn engaging and I found myself wanting both of them to succeed and just talk to the other person!

Although I had guessed some of what was to come in the end it was a shock to see the end revealed and I was disappointed I was at the end of what was a book I will be recommending to others.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This started off slow at first.. but then got really good all the rest of the way through. There’s plenty of twists and turns and with the ending I had guessed pretty quickly what would happen. The characters were great, the story has enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat and the style of writing was perfect.
I have read other books by this author before and I must say that they were brilliant, can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read psychological thrillers.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

Oh my goodness! This book was a psychological masterclass, it was so bloody fabulous!

I love SE Lynes novels very much but this has just tipped me over the edge with its brilliance!

I loved everything about it!

The intense, gripping storyline really pulled me into Jess and Will’s lives so immensely that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I was pulled into a tangle of lies, deceit, and criminality between characters that really had my cryptic mind thinking.

The characters were so well developed you felt everything they were going through, I was so frustrated throughout and held my breath so many times. I put my Kindle down many times, pausing and ended up saying sod it and picked it back up neglecting jobs I was supposed to be doing.

I don’t normally mention twists in my review but OMG! Perfection! For a psychological thriller I loved the expected slow burn start which switches and really picks up in the second half it’s like the flood gates were opened.

I feel like SE Lynes has utterly reached the top of her game, it was such a well turned out book that I honestly wondering can she top it?

Absolutely wonderful. I will now wait eagerly for what comes next!

I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller.

It is the story of a marriage breaking down on the basis of assumptions, half-truths and poor communication.

On the morning after their wedding anniversary, Jessica is shocked to anonymously receive photographs showing her husband Will, in a series of intimate shots across London with a mystery woman, culminating with the couple looking more than a little cosy in hotel room. Understandably, Jessica throws Will out of the family home, and in his despair, Will is lead down a dark path following a seemingly selfless gesture from a stranger - what follows ticks boxes FOR DAYS (assuming of course that dark, twisty and frankly, damn good entertainment are your bag!!!) ...That said if you can ration yourself to make this epic read last for days I utterly applaud you - (this is no mean feat given how gripping it is!)

This is a super gripping read that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportune to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

Jumping right in with the betrayal & conflict; a marriage falling apart & how love can be dark. I was pulled into an intense story with shady characters. Intertwined lives made for a truly twisted ending.

I’ve read several thrillers from SE Lynes & love her page turners!

AND!!! I’m over the moon that I was mentioned in your acknowledgements, Susie Lynes!!! What an honor!! Thank you so much!!!!

Thank you, SE Lynes, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

This well written psychological thriller from S E Lynes will grab you from the first page and will not let go until the very last page.

Told from two points of view, Will and Jessica, it is a well woven web of deceit and lies with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing throughout and a cast of characters that will make you question their actions and groan with frustration.

A sign of a good book for me is when I forego sleep because I just have to finish it and this is one of those books! Having read and enjoyed all of the authors previous books, this one just might be my favourite yet ................... until the next one!

Highly recommended!!

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I saw that there were good reviews on this book but I guess I was in the minority because this book was not for me. There were too many things that were far fetched. Jessica and Will are married with two kids and she is the breadwinner while he takes care of the kids. Jessica received an anonymous text with pictures of her husband with another woman. When she confronted him, his reply was "it's not what you think." Will moves out and meets a guy at a bar who gives him clothes, a home to live in, a car to drive, etc. but takes it all with no questions asked. I stopped at 50 percent as I was just done

S.E. Lynes has been one of my 'must-read' authors for years now. Her psychological thrillers always tick every box for me. I was looking forward to reading The Split, so as soon as I got a copy, I had to read it straightaway.

Told from the perspectives of Jessica and Will, a couple with two young children. After seven years of marriage, Jessica has evidence that Will has been seeing another woman. Although Will tells her it isn't what it seems, she makes him leave. As the vortex that has become their lives  keeps spinning out of control, the worse the situation gets. Is there more going on than they both realise?

I do feel this is one of the author's best thrillers. I  really thought I had this one in the bag. The majority of the way through, I was confident I knew it all! I should have known better. I was taken on such a tense, twisty journey with these characters. They are so well created that I felt their emotions so much as I raced my way through the book.

A story crammed with secrets, twists, and plenty of manipulation to boot. Then, to top everything off, the conclusion blew me away, too! It is an excellent psychological thriller from an author who I recommend to everyone.

This is an intriguing, suspenseful read that gives you just enough to keep you turning the pages. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed characters. It’s cleverly written and Lynes does a fantastic job teasing you with buried secrets and revelations that you can’t quite get a grasp of but you just have to find out. There is a lot going on in this book to keep you engaged. Really enjoyed this one.

BOOKWORMS REVIEW: This is typical S.E Lynes. Some shocks and twists and a good story. Jessica and her husband Will have just celebrated 7 years of marriage. The following day Jessica receives shady photos on her phone of Will with another woman! Devastated Jessica confronts him, and all he has to say is its not what it looks like.(shocker🙄). She kicks him out.
Will meets a man named Ian at his now lodgings local pub. This man,Ian,offers him a room in his house not being used..for free. Sound dodgy? When something seems too good to be true...it usually is. Read it to see why. Although I did guess parts I still enjoyed it.
With thanks to S.E Lynes, Bookouture NetGalley for an arc to read and review.

Good things come to those who wait! This book starts off slow, it really builds up the break down of Jess and Will’s marriage. It was so interesting and frustrating to see both characters jumping to horribly wrong conclusions about each other. It makes you really wonder what’s going on in someone’s head. The suspense very slowly builds up. Who is this Ian guy? Why is he so generous with Will? All of a sudden the book gets crazy. I loved all the wild twists and revelations. Will and Jess weren’t the most likable characters and some parts of the book were too slow for my liking but overall this is one crazy ride.

Will and Jessica are celebrating their wedding anniversary. Jess has arranged for them to go out for a meal. The next morning Jess receives a message from an unknown number along with lots of photos of Will with a mystery woman. Someone has clearly been watching Will and is now revealing all to Jess. Jess asks Will to leave and she is devastated as well as angry.

The story is split into chapters being told by Will and Jess. I really liked this format and found the book easy to read. The book was filled with surprises and shocks. Jess and Will were both trying to make sense of what has happened. Both their lives start to change drastically and they are swept up in living separately, dealing with solicitors, meeting new people and ever changing circumstances.

I really enjoyed this book. Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for an advance copy of the book.
