The Book Club Kit for The Mayor of Maxwell Street was amazing. I enjoyed the author interview section and feedback, the discussion questions, and the added playlist. I also enjoyed the Step Into The 20s section to help theme your virtual or in-person event. The Book Club Kit is a great tool for book clubs to discuss the book and add a little fun to the discussion. So many great topics to discuss and conversation starters.

LOVED the art deco design of this book and the cocktail recommendations. Bonus points for the fact they would be easy to make. The playlist with Spotify code is a big win.

The Book Club Guide for "Mayor of Maxwell Street" really helped to enhance knowledge of the time. I'm from Chicago, and before Maxwell Street was moved for "gentrification", I'd been there quite often with my Dad. The book brings back memories.

Thanks so much We Are Bookish and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview this wonderful book club kit— one of the best I have seen. I loved the included author interview and the “value-plus” drink and snack suggestions. I am currently enjoying the novel and will suggest it as a selection to my book club.

I started a book club with my husband's high school friends wives. "The Mayor of Maxwell Street" is our first book club pick. I cannot wait to use this for our discussion.

I especially love how it comes with bookmarks to cut out and give as gifts, recipes to serve, and a Spotify playlist to help set the mood.

I am hoping NetGalley will create more of these in the future.

This book by Avery Cunningham was a surprising good read to me, although it was a little different than what I expected. It was set during in Chicago, during the prohibition era. It is about historical fiction, but it honestly was a little longer than it needed to be.
Penelope/Nelly is forced into the cotillion circuit after her brother died.
She meets someone that is passing to be white. This hit home as a biracial story to me, being a product of a biracial marriage,
Thank you to #netgalley for this #arc

Thought-provoking discussion questions along with everything needed to make a book party. The drinks and food look fabulous and don't forget to dress the part. A playlist to set the mood and one has everything needed to go back to the 20's in style. Thanks for the free book club kit!
