This was a silly adventure story about two socks who go missing from the dryer and explore around the city of Chicago. I liked that it included so many familiar landmarks that can be found in the city and included all of the Chicago "things", like hot dogs, the el, and the White Sox rather than the Cubs. Though I love the Cubs, I feel like they get a whole lot of love and the White Sox get very little, so it was a nice surprise! The book is written through rhyme and rhythm so it could also be used when teaching these skills in a classroom setting. The illustrations were very kid friendly and my favorite part was the end where the author included some extra fun facts about Chicago. I even learned a few new things and I've lived in Chicago for over a decade! This would be a book that I would definitely add to my classroom library under the "Chicago" genre!

I can honestly say that I have never before read a book like this one and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. At first, I didn't catch that they were going to a Sox ("socks") game. I found that a really funny detail of the story and overall, it was just a great little story about a pair of sox exploring the city together. Never thought I'd write such a sentence... Lovely story and good illustrations.

Ever wondered why you sometimes lose socks. Could it be because they go off on adventures when you aren’t looking. Well that’s exactly what happens with Lefty and Righty, follow them as they venture out on their own to go and find the Red Sox.

What a fun and engaging rhyming tale. It certainly kept us entertained.

Myself and my little girl eagerly await the next escapades of Lefty and Righty.

The Adventures of Lefty & Righty: The Windy City by Lori Orlinsky

Mystery solved about our socks....! What a great and funny adventure of the left and right socks.

Cute and comic-style illustration, which catch the young readers attention. I cannot say it is an inspirational journey for the young readers (to try) but it is definitely a fun read! i love the fun fact follow with the end of the story! This will be a very good choice of bed-time story too!

Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for my copy!

This was a fun little rhyming picture book adventure. Lefty and Righty are checking out the scene in Chicago, and it's fun when they visit places I know about.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I was excited to read this children’s book because I, too, live in Chicago and thought it would be great for my visiting nieces and nephews. The premise is great, and it begins in a charming way, akin to a Suess book. But the story is quickly encumbered by the rhyming and becomes disjointed and the sites visited seemed list-like rather than part of a story. This was a miss for me.

Cute, rhyming, travel, adventure book. Two friends who are a pair of socks explore the magical city of Chicago while on their way to a White Sox’s game. They visited most of my favorite sights (not sure how they missed The Art Institute). While I wouldn’t purchase this for my school library, as I am far away from Chicago. It is the kind of book I would seek out and read to kids if I were going to visit the city.

This was a cute book. I have always wanted to know what happened to my socks when I couldn’t find them. The socks went on a great adventure and I like how history was included in their journey at the end of the book. The illustrations were awesome.

A pair of friends who happen to be socks go on a big adventure in a big city. They want to see the White Sox play baseball so they leave home and make their way to the baseball stadium. Along the way the friends see many interesting building and stop to explore. This would be a perfect book to read if you are planning a trip to Chicago with your little one. They can read about the things they may see before the trip. The story is written in rhyme, which is prefect for the youngest reader. At the end of the book there is a section of fun facts about Chicago for your little one to enjoy. A truly delightful story!
