The Cornish Campsite Murder takes place at a music festival and Jodie (Nosey) is running the pie truck for a friend. She is surprised to realize that the couple she catered for earlier in the year were actually members of the band that she loved as a teen. The band is missing its lead singer, so they are a minor attraction instead of a headliner. There are bad feelings between the singer and the rest of the band, and when he is found dead, they become suspects.
Jodie and her friends are a lot of fun to read about, especially Shirley(Jodie’s mum) and Daisy (her daughter). The setting is unique and the mystery well done.
Thanks to Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the ARC.

Set at a music festival/surf competition on the Cornish coast near Penstowan, former police officer now chef Jodie Parker, can’t keep her nose out when a body is found near the campsite. She’s supposed to be running a pie truck with her fiancé, DCI Nathan Withers, but a possible murder is way more interesting. While trying to keep an eye on her teen daughter, her mother and her dog, she does her best to investigate.
This is part of a series but no need to read the others in order to enjoy. A large cast of characters but easy to keep straight, Jodie was down-to-earth, friendly and fun.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for this DRC.

Great addition to a fun series. The music festival was a fun summer affair until the probable murder was discovered. Then former police Josie and her DCI fiance find that there is more to helping out a friend with his food truck besides naming all the pies after people and places relevant to the film DIE HARD. Have some grand groans and snickers while Josie's mom drives them nutz with her Glamping friends as you try to solve it before the constabulary.

A couple, one current and one former police, operate a food truck for a friend during a weekend music festival. One of the performers, who had backed out of his commitment, attends the festival anyway in order to confront his former band mates. When he later turns up dead, was it an accident, or murder?

This was an average read with a slow start. Once the incident happened, the pace picked up a bit, but it still barely held my attention to the end. There were so many characters with odd names and intersecting histories that it was a bit difficult to keep them straight.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

A Cornish Campsite Murder” the 7th instalment in The Nosey Parker Cozy Mystery series by Fiona Leitch. I cannot get enough of this series, if you love mysteries set in England this is for you!

I love visiting Cornwall and Jodie, Daisy, and her mum but let’s not forget about Germaine the Pomeranian! This time we are attending the annual music festival with it seems like the whole family and friends in one capacity or another. I like where Jodie’s relationship with Nathan is going and the dynamics between him and Daisy as well as Jodie’s mum.

The mystery was really interesting, well plotted, and had just enough twists to keep you engrossed and wanting to know what happens next. I really hope there will be a book 8 coming out soon, as I can’t get enough of this series.

I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Harper Collins UK. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this cosy murder mystery involving Jodie Parker and her partner, DCI Nathan Withers. Jodie is not looking forward to running a pie truck at a local music festival for a friend until a murder occurs and naturally both soon find themselves embroiled!

I enjoyed meeting the supporting cast again and found the murder investigation interesting and well plotted.

Although an enjoyable read - I will look out for more!

Mobile caterer Josie 'Nosey' Parker doesn't like festivals. The music and atmosphere are great but don't get her started on the accommodations, and the toilets? Eww, disgusting! So why is she running a friend's food truck at Wave Masters just outside Penstowan? Maybe it's because daughter Daisy is experiencing everything festival for the first time, mum Shirley is there with a new friend, and it means she can enjoy an uninterrupted weekend with her police detective fiance, Nathan!

Things get far more interesting when Josie witnesses a bust up between members of one of the bands but discovering a body definitely wasn't on her menu especially as Nathan's holiday seems likely to be seriously curtailed! As clues and accusations fly it isn't long before she's helping the police with their enquiries but thankfully from the right side! With a cold case and missing witnesses adding to her problems can Josie discover the killer before everyone packs up and moves on?

Book seven in this heartwarming, funny, and thrilling series is another brilliant outing into the life of main protagonist, ex-detective Josie Parker, and the wonderful Cornish countryside. With an investigation full of the twists and turns I've come to expect and fun new characters to read about it was still her mum and daughter who threatened to steal the show and the family dynamic was as enjoyable as ever.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Harper Collins UK, but the opinions expressed are my own. I thoroughly enjoyed this and with a further installment due out next year this is a great series which never disappoints.

I always look forward to a new book in the Nosey Parker series and this latest adventure for Josie and her fiancé, DI Nathan Withers did not disappoint. This time Josie is doing a favour for a friend and running a pie truck at the local music festival. She has dragged Nathan along as he is on leave. Naturally a murder occurs and Nathan has to investigate.
Josie is no longer part of the police force and so her personal life takes a larger part in this book which I enjoyed. She has concerns about a new friend who seems to be taking up a lot of her mother’s time as well as dealing with a teenager who wants more independence than Josie is willing to give. As the festival is local, many of the characters from previous books are present in this one and the cheerful dialogue between them provides a lot of the humour in the book.
The festival is well presented and as always, the coastal setting is an important part of the story rather than just being a pretty backdrop. I enjoyed the plot which centred on the death of a middle aged musician who was in dispute with his old bandmates.
This was a really enjoyable read and I look forward to the next adventure for Josie and Nathan.
Thsnks as always to Net Galley and the publishers, One More Chapter, for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another brilliant Cornish romp. I love how the author always manages to find entirely different scenarios and locations for each of her books, regularly updating the lives of the villagers in her stories.
The festival descriptions were brilliant, and I loved how she is with her teenage daughter.
Mum never ceases to amaze me, and the other characters stay true to their ongoing lives.

Festival Fatality..
The seventh outing for Jodie (Nosey) Parker and, with a festival in town, Jodie has agreed to run the food truck alongside the extremely reluctant Nathan. As the camping weekend progresses, revellers mingle, chaos ensues and fights break out amongst the band - but then a dead body makes an appearance. Another engaging instalment to this enjoyable and nicely written series of cosy crime with a cast of deftly drawn and eclectic characters, a well done plot and a well imagined backdrop.

4* Seventh in the Nosey Parker Mystery series set in Cornwall.

Jodie Parker, late of the Met, now a civilian, is once again involved in an unexplained death and living up to her nickname of Nosey Parker.

Jodie has agreed to run a pie stall at the local Wave Masters music festival, her fiancé, DCI Nathan Withers, is on leave and she persuades him to help her. On the first night a body is found on the beach, with cars parked nose to tail there’s no possibility of anyone leaving the festival until the last act finishes, allowing two days for Jodie and Nathan to discover the identity of the murderer.

The book is frequently very funny, but maybe not always understood by non-British readers.

Good fun and entertaining, all these murders are really not helping Cornish tourism.

Festivals are great places to commit a murder. True, there are thousands of people around, but most of them are out of it with every sort of chemical assistance. There's also an impressive lack of physical and CCTV security, and poor mobile signal.

Add into the mix a middle-aged band whose members have...issues with each other, and simmer gently...

But the murderer has reckoned without the Parkers- Jodie (aka Nosey), former police officer, her mum Shirley, teenage daughter Daisy, and Jodie's fiance DCI Nathan Withers - who are at the festival running a catering truck for one of Jodie's friends.

Another great adventure in this excellent series

This lovely Cornish series continues to entertain. I loved the festival setting, and the characters are warm hearted and, at times, hilarious. The relationship between Jodi and her teenage daughter is very touching. The descriptions of the Cornish coast make it a percentage holiday read for anyone going to the area.

The perfect book for spending an afternoon in the sunshine. It is a lovely cozy murder mystery set at a Festival in Cornwall. The characters are great, it’s well written and flows beautifully. It isn’t too taxing on the brain but very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The Cornish Campsite Murder by Fiona Leitch is book 7 in the Nosey Parker series. Thank you to Netgalley, One More Chapter and Fiona Leitch for an advance copy of the book. I have read and enjoyed all the books in this cozy mystery series. They are full of humour. Jodie Parker (nicknamed Nosey Parker) is a great cook with her own catering business so always some lovely food included. She is an ex-detective and her partner DCI Nathan Withers is a currently serving detective so always some mystery-solving going on. Jodie and Nathan, as a favour, have attended a music festival with a friend’s pie van. A body is found on the beach and Nathan, even though on leave, can’t help himself and becomes involved in the investigation. Jodie, as her nickname suggests, also can’t herself and with the help of friends and her Mum, does her bit too. A really good read. Such interesting characters and of course the setting of Cornwall.

Another great read and catch up from the village of Penstowen. Lovely to catch up with Jodie, Nathan and all the gang. This time at a Cornish music festival whilst they work from a Die hard themed pie wagon!for the weekend. The whole gang is there enjoying the festivities and merriment and even Daisy is allowed to camp with her friends under the watchful beast eye of her Mum and Nan. The weather is good, there are pies, booze and some good tunes to be listened to so it should be a perfect weekend and a little holiday for Nathan until a death occurs….. thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
