I enjoyed this, it was a light easy summer read. The MCs had great enemies to lovers banter. The hotel owner was a great side character and probably my favourite character. Perfect beach read.

The Accidental Holiday is a sweet and refreshing romance novel which captures the ‘proximity trope’ really well.
Maya is a cautious and slightly naive character who decides to splurge on a last minute, 5 star holiday. She’s read the reviews of the hotel, visited Trust Pilot and knows she’s got herself a great deal, waiting until midnight to ensure her salary hits her bank account before booking the night before she leaves.
Happy go lucky Alex needs to get out of London, fast. He feels betrayed by some good friends who were with him at his lowest and now feels completely on his own. Stumbling out of a disastrous party, he sees the same ad Maya did and clicks to book - at the exact same time.
Forced together for the duration of the holiday, the novel weaves its way through their back stories and how they ended up in Mallorca at the same hotel.
This was actually a very refreshing read as there was no gratuitous swearing or sex for the sake of it. Well done to Mimi Deb for creating likeable characters (Alex I liked straight away but Maya definitely grew on me) and a plot that was interesting enough to keep me turning pages. Many thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

God I love a holiday romance, I immediately knew I wanted to read this with the plot, doesn’t it sound incredible?
Well the story is better than even I anticipated! It was a fun holiday romance with the right amount of tension, wit, humour and a good old slow burn. The setting was perfect, the characters were great and I just honestly really enjoyed it!

I loved the storyline of this book. A dreamy, last minute luxury holiday booked to escape but ends up being a double booking in the Sunset Suite. I just couldn’t get onboard with connection between the two main characters, Maya and Alex. Whist Maya was interesting and some of the story focuses on her rising above her own insecurities I just don’t think there were enough moments to build an interest between her and Alex. The descriptions of Mallorca did make me want to explore the island and be on my own holiday there.

The perfect by the pool (or wishing you were by the pool!) holiday read. Yes it’s perfect for fans of Emily Henry, yes it uses some popular tropes (stuck together, opposites attract etc) but above all it’s just a really fun piece of escapism that’ll have you rooting for Maya (and Alex plus a cast of other great characters) and wishing you were in Mallorca too!

Maya meets Alex at the airport, and a booking error soon means they meet again. An opposite attracts romance. Looking forward to more books from this author.

This is not the first of Mimi Deb's work I have read, and I absolutely adored Love on the Menu when I initially read it as an arc.
The Accidental Holiday was also another one dear to my heart. From the moment we met Alex, I was smitten, of course. I liked his hard exterior and I found him to be really likeable as a male protagonist. Maya was a breath of fresh air.
Honestly, the one bed/forced proximity trope has me in a chokehold and it was in full swing for this novel. 10/10. Adored.

Maya is a planner, she plans everything thoroughly, weighs the pros and cons and always takes the safe option. She never seems to take a chance on anything until she decides to book a luxury holiday, but even after reading the fine print multiple times, it still doesn't go to plan. There is no record of her flight reservation or her hotel reservation.
Alex is the complete opposite and never plans anything because he knows plans never work out the way you thought they would anyway. After attending a party he doesn't want to be at he books a last minute luxury holiday and arrives at the airport only a few minutes before Maya - effectively taking her booking.
When they both realise they're at the same resort they see they booked their reservations at the exact same time effectively cancelling one out. They decide to share the room and over the course of the week they get closer and start to open up to each other.
Neither character is particularly likeable, Maya is just irritating, constantly worrying about everything and creating rules to control ever. Alex is arrogant and doesn't seem to care about anyone or anything. The two are a very unlikely pairing and their connection never felt genuine or believable.
The story is disjointed with flashback scenes that were really unnecessary. They could easily just have had Maya and Alex opening up about their past experiences to each other without having to include flashbacks. They didn't feel natural either, they were just crowbarred into the story.

The story was cute , just a little vague on the details of the characters. I felt like I knew a little more about Alex’s past than Maya’s . Her past scam relationship had no closure for her or for me as the reason why this person came into her life and left so abruptly with no reason and nothing gained. I was a little confused about some of the resort staff as Alex had given them or they went by alternate names. They were a sweet couple that were both due their happy ending. A fun romcom with a clever premise and great characters. I really enjoyed the way Maya and Alex's relationship developed over the course of this story.

I wasn't a fan of this one at all. The FMC was awful, and really, really boring to read about. I never really understood why on earth the MMC would be interested and the whole thing just irritated me.

Unfortunately I dnf this book as I failed to connect with the characters and didn't really hold interest in seeing their love story develop. I felt their coupling lacked oomph.
The premise is great and if the characters had more entertaining personalities I would of continued.

Maya and Alex are just to die for. I LOVED this sweet book. Definitely a slllloow burn but loved the chemistry, the whittiness and Mayas strong independence. Also who doesn't love a book set in Spain?! The miscommunication trope brought it down a star for me but other then that, the setting of the book was perfect and really enjoyed the original story.

Incredible setting for a book. I found it hard to get into in the beginning but glad I stuck with it. The characters of Alex and Maya and well rounded if a little shallow, in Alex’s case.
A nice fun holiday read.

Thank you to Mimi and NetGalley for gifting this gorgeous book!
Imagine turning up to the airport to find out your holiday booking doesn’t exist! That’s what happened to Maya, Alex is not only in her business class seat but he is also booked in her hotel room. Regardless of this, Maya has just booked her first holiday in a while and she’s determined to make the most of it no matter what dramas have already happened.
I absolutely adored this book, I was hooked from the start. Who doesn’t love a holiday romance! This was a very slow burn, so if you prefer them quicker you might not enjoy this as much. Maya and Alex were amazing main characters, who you come to realise have a lot of baggage and you learn so much about them both and their personalities. Just as they slowly do over the week, they learn about each other’s flaws and I adored how it made them like each other more.
I really recommend this to everyone, if you’re looking for a summer book to read whilst sunbathing by the pool then this one is for you!

The story was a delight from start to finish, set in the beautiful backdrop of Mallorca and featuring two wonderfully layered characters, Maya and Alex. The author did an incredible job with their development. I was completely invested in them both as individuals and as a couple.
Beyond the fun and banter, the book also explores deeper themes like dealing with grief and finding self-belief. It added so much more to the story.
This was a fantastic read that I couldn’t put down. It had everything I look for in a romance novel: a captivating setting, well-developed characters, and a perfect blend of humour and emotional depth. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt and entertaining story.

An easy to read 'take on holiday' book. What's not to enjoy about a couples holiday mix up with a happy ending. Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review

An enjoyable fun read as we escape to Mallorca with Maya and Alex. This novel is a slow burner, but I found myself warming to the main characters and eager to see how the novel unfolded. Yes it was predictable in places but still enjoyable. I would rate this 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and the author for the chance to review.

I recently read "The Accidental Holiday" by Mimi Deb, and unfortunately, it didn't work for me at all. The writing style just wasn’t my cup of tea. One of the main issues I had was with the constant back and forth in the timeline. While I usually appreciate flashbacks in a story, the way they were used here was frustrating. Flashbacks to events that happened just two hours ago felt unnecessary and disrupted the flow of the narrative.
Also, the FMC was especially annoying and her shenanigans with the flying company, the hotel and the overall booking of her holiday were so tiring and frustrating to read.
It's a shame because the premise had potential, but the execution left me disappointed. I found it hard to stay engaged with the story due to these timeline jumps, and it took away from my overall enjoyment of the book.

Very cute summer romance - great to ready on holiday or when you’ve read a gruelling book and need a change of pace. Highly recommended
