I love a book with twists and this one did not disappoint. Loved hearing about more of the characters lives. Very fast paced and I honestly couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this book! All of the drama between Billie Ann’s family and then the constant dead ends she kept hitting with the case she was working.

The book was so well detailed and the storyline was perfection. Each chapter left you wanting to know what happened. And the multiple POVs helped bring a well rounded feeling to the story.

Along with all the different twists in this book and an ending I didn’t see happening, I definitely recommend this book!

Thank you Netgalley, Willow Rose and Bookouture for the eArc of Then She's Gone.
This is the second book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series.

Having read the first book in this series, I was delighted to have the 2nd book as an Arc. Detective Billie Ann Wilde, a wife, a Mum as well as good detective is devastated when she finds a suitcase of a women's bones on a popular Florida beach. what's worse, is that the Label, Danni, is one of Billie's best friends. Rushing to her house, she finds Danni, alive and well, which begs the question. Whose body is in the suitcase? Why has it a label with Danni's name on? It soon rev's up to a fight to find out who is killing innocent women.

What I find great about these books is the portrayal of Detective Billie, the MC. She is a strong women, independent, a good Mum and with real flaws. The main storyline is her being a detective, and the underlaying storyline is her struggle to balance life, coming to terms with her sexuality and how that has impacted her family. I really love when a MC has flaws, weaknesses but can pull through. It makes them more real.

The general plot is great with some good foreshadowing and medium paced. I feel its been a great balance between plot and character driven with Willows books. Im really looking forward to reading the 3rd book in the series!

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Don’t Let Her Go, but this one seemed overwhelming with the amount of information and characters that were poured into it.

Detective Billy Jean Wilde has no time for sleep, or the time to take care of her family since she leaves her three children home alone often. She’s investigating the disappearance of her best friend, identifying the bodies discovered inside luggage bags, juggling her divorce, and finding out her son is getting into a bad crowd at school.

I feel like if an author brings a big family into a book, there should be more about them in the story; but Billy Jean is more focused on the domino effect of her life choices, her divorce, and sweeping all troubles with her family under the rug to focus more on her career.

Although I had a few struggles with this book, it was a twisty detective investigation that kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing until the very end.

Then She's Gone by Willow Rose, for me was a entertaining read. Up until the very end I wasn't sure really who the bad ones were. The story line had plenty of twist and turns, and even though I don't really enjoy story lines, when it continues to jump back and forward between present day and the past in this instance it did work. I would recommend this book to others.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bookouture, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Didn’t read the first book, probably didn’t make a huge difference.
I liked the premise of the book, it was pretty short (or felt that way) and it did keep my interest, but I absolutely despaired of Billie - and found her to be selfish and pretty annoying!
Quite understand why she is getting a divorce.
In a saturated market - it fell short of some fk the outstanding ones out there.

Wonderful! A great book. This writer never disappoints. Brilliant story. Believable characters. Loved it.

We follow detective Billie who comes across bones in a luggage, but what scares her is the name on the luggage is her best friend Danni. She rushes to her friends home to find that Danni is till alive. She must find out who the body belongs to and why Danni's name was on it. Secrets from Billie's past could become unravelled if she doesn't find out who is behind this.
Although the book made me want to read more chapters, I was rather annoyed with the main character Billie. She is going through a divorce, very absent as a mother and very obsessed with her friend Danni. I did skim over some as it was just non stop about her feelings for her best friend. I understood her friend was missing and because of he feelings, it made it all that intense but it just wasn't what I was looking for. This is the second book with Billie, and I did not read the first, so maybe if I did, my feelings would be different

I loved the first book in this series but this one fell short for me. I really want to like Billie Ann but some of the things she does are so frustrating. Yes her ex-husband is an asshole but he does have a point that she can’t give her children her full attention. She does work a lot and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but I don’t understand why she argues that she can balance her job and her kids when she clearly can’t.

The murder was interesting and kept me guessing but there are a lot of characters to keep track of. It’s also difficult to see where the transcripts from an old murder case fit in until the very end. It’s also a pet peeve of mine when detectives don’t declare that they are connected to the case and then are surprised when it gets complicated and they can’t stay impartial.

Although not my favourite, it’s still a good detective read and I will still pick up the next installment to see if Billie Ann can get her personal life together.

Second book in the Bille Anne Wilde series. A good mystery even though I figured 90% out before the end. Quick read, fast paced. I’ve read several by Willow Rose and haven’t been disappointed once.

Then She’s Gone is a fast paced read. I finished this book in a few hours and couldn’t put it down. There are lots of twists and the multi pov and timeline keep you guessing. I thought I had the big twist figured out but I was actually surprised by the ending. The red herrings will keep you on your toes from start to finish.
The only issue I had with the story was the character of Billie Ann. I couldn’t relate to her at all and I wanted to scream into the book at her several times. Her priorities were messed up in my opinion and her children were crying for attention. As a mom of three, I struggled to find a commonality to her character, but I couldn’t. I always say that I like for a book to create big emotions in me, however, and my dislike of Billie Ann managed to do that.

3.75 stars- thank you so much for bookotoure for including me on the book tour for this novel!!

Definitely a fast paced crime thriller, easy to get through, although a second novel not necessarily required to read both to understand the story line. FMC is very dimensional which I appreciate. The problem with a lot of crime thrillers is that the FMC or MMC are usually the lead detective and usually one dimensional. This was definitely one of the better ones I’ve read and I would definitely pick up the next one willingly!

This was a fast paced book with a lot going on. I enjoyed it and I’m curious where the author is taking the series. But at times I find myself not sure if I like the main character. This is only the second book (the other is a different author, funny…same publisher) that that this has happened for me. It’s hard to explain.

The murder mystery is good. And keeps you on your toes. I am just not sure about some of the characters. I’m definitely invested and want to see what happens. It’s just interesting how I feel about Billie. And it really is eye opening how as women we must strive to juggle it all. And become the bad guy when at times we can’t.

Bring on book 3.

Another gripping & twisty crime thriller in this second book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series! #WillowRose packs in the suspense with a case that hits close to home for Billie. Lots of action and parts based on real-life events lead to another stellar installment in this thrilling series that I’m loving!

Billie Ann is back, still trying to wade through her personal life whilst still doing the job she was born to do.

A little boy makes a horrific discovery at the beach, could this be the missing woman that Billie Ann is searching for?.

This story had SO MUCH going on I could hardly keep up.

We get to follow the investigation in real time with Billie Ann and also in the past in the chapters called THEN, in the past chapters you really get to piece together what’s happening and why.

This case really is too close to home for Billie Ann, it tests her in so many ways, I was hooked.

I really hope we get more of this fantastic series.

The murder mystery part was excellent and gruesome!
Body parts keep showing up in pilfered luggage. Billie Ann scrambles to find what’s going on as her life falls apart.
I had to agree with Joe about which parent the kids should be with. Billie is consumed with her cases and is absent a lot. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I think Billie is going to self combust as much as she ran herself ragged during the book.
Something has to give and I’m afraid Billie has sort of already made her choice.

This is a fast-paced thriller that I couldn't put down! It very much reminds me of the content that is perfect for TV such as CSI: Miami or Bones. Loved the characters and the plot. This is a solid thriller I highly recommend!

Billie Ann is a police officer, she's a mother, she's recently separated from her husband, and she's in love with another woman. She's also on a trail of a killer who has killed already and several more women are missing.

As in many of Willow Rose books, there are two story lines. One from the past and one from the present. Sometimes it's really difficult to figure out who is in the "past" story. This time the reader may have a few clues, but Billie Ann and her police partners do not.

As the clock keeps ticking on the missing women, Billie Ann's life is spinning out of control. She's on the case, hardly at home, and her soon-to-be-ex husband is making demands while her kids are acting out. The reader can feel her devotion to her family and her job, and she's trying to meet the needs of everyone.

There are so many twists in this story, but Willow Rose readers know that they will eventually be braided together. Exciting novel.

Then She’s Gone is the second book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. I read the first one and loved it! Now I’ve read the second one and loved it. I read it in a day!

I did kind of guessed what was happening(I was wrong about part of it and right about part) but it was really brought together in a great way!

I’ll be on the look out for more Detective Wilde books!

In my head all I can see is Rizzoli from the tv show, Rizzoli and Isles. Both bad a** women.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance copy in exchange for a honest review.
