Charly moves to Montana after buying a bar with her friends, When changing the drinks menu doesn't go down too well with the regulars, they convince Jaxon the old owner to volunteer for a charity auction.

This is a nice cowboy romance that can be read easily as it uses everything you could want in your romcoms. The book includes some amazing chemistry between Charly and Jaxon which cements him on the leaderboard of book boyfriends.

Thank you NetGalley, Mills and Boon, and Afterglow

It’s a cute read and for those in their cowboy era. However, I found it a little too simple, the plot too easy to guess (even more than usual) and the two characters felt a little on the flat side.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Afterglow Books by Harlequin for gifting me a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Let me start by staying I love the front cover of this book it looks really colourful and fun which matches the characters in the book.

Charly and her two best friends move to Timber Falls after their relationships break down. The girls decide they need a fresh start and buy a local bar that definitely needs remodelling if it to become their dream design. Sadly this is met by opposition in the local town, especially by the bars previous owner Jaxon Reed. The man is bossy and temptation itself and things are about to get more heated than Charly anticipated.

This is an enemies to lovers, rom-com about friendship and cowboys. If you like any of those things then this is a book you need to read. Honestly, it was funny and I did enjoy the chemistry between Jaxon and Charly but I didn't really like the writing style it was a little too jumpy for me.

This was such a fast-paced and gripping romance that I found myself really enjoying. I liked both of the main characters and really liked the tension and chemistry between them! This book also has great side characters who I cannot wait to read more about in future books!

One of the best things about this book is how mature and sensible Charly and Jaxon are. They actually spoke to each other about their feelings and their worries which was such a breath of fresh air for me as I hate the miscommunication trope.

This book was an amazing cowboy romance that has really made me realise how much I enjoy this sub-genre! It was addictive and really punched me in the gut at times! I cannot wait to read more in this series and whatever Stacey Kennedy writes next!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was an easy small town romance read. Charly is at a turning point in her life that she calls in a childhood pact with 2 of her friends meaning they all move to a small town and open up a bar much to the locals disappointment. It was an OK read, I think I liked the idea of the story more than the execution. A few things niggled me mainly like why would 3 ladies uproot their lives without doing any proper research into what the town would need to be a successful business. My other thing was I didn't feel any connection between jaxson and Charly and she's so determined not to be with another man but given an evening in Jaxsons company she's going back on what she's been saying all along.
Some may love this but it was just an ok read for me

What can I say? Hot cowboys, powerful women finding themselves again, fab small town, horses and some spicy scenes to boot! Easy read, couldn’t put it down and Jaxon was easy on my brain cells!

Sorry but this was a miss for me. I found the story lacked credibility, the characters were two dimensional and rather boring. I think others will enjoy it but found it rather banal and uninteresting - sorry.

The Devil In Blue Jeans is a cowboy romance focusing on three friends whose lives change so much that they decide to fulfil a pact to live and work together in Timber Falls, Montana. The bar they reopen once belonged to local Jaxon, who gave up his dream to run the family horse ranch. Charly and friends create a glamorous, city-style bar, which draws in the tourists. The locals are not so keen, and Jaxon vows to change things. The enemies-to-lovers vibe is evident from the beginning; the chemistry between Charly and Jaxon sizzles, but he criticises her dream, which makes them rivals, not friends. I like the emotional element in this story. Spicy banter and antagonism hide Charly's pain at her fiancé's betrayal and Jaxon's grief over his father's death. I also enjoyed the opposing friends' dynamic, which was relatable and gave the story depth. The romance is conflicted, passionate and urgent, but tragic events threaten Charly and Jaxon's relationship. I like the dramatic conclusion and the uplifting epilogue. The characters draw you into their lives and make you invest in them.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Unfortunately for just didn’t end up vibing with this book, which is quite disappointing as I was really looking forward to it! I absolutely love the cover and that’s what initially drew me in, as well as the synopsis, I love a cowboy romance and am always looking for new books within that genre!

I did enjoy the start of the book, it was somewhat a little unrealistic that these 3 girls coincidentally were at sticky points in their lives that they could call in the pact they made when they were younger to move to a small town together and run a bar.
I felt like Charly and Jaxon’s relationship happened very fast, everything felt like it was written for the plot and not towards the building of the relationship.

Also the whole ending of the book where Charly’s ex ends up in a car accident and eventually passes away, I just felt like it was kinda insensitive for Jaxon to show up in that situation, especially as they weren’t even on good terms at that point. And why did Charly feel the need to rush to her ex’s bedside when he’d cheated on her and she’d asked him to leave her alone? None of it made much sense to me unfortunately!

I really enjoyed this cowboy romance, it was fun, it was flirty and it was steamy, however it just wasn't long enough!! I loved the premise and I found myself invested in all of the characters, therefore I would have loved for it to have been just a little longer so I could spend more time getting to know them. There was a plot twist nearing the end that I wasn't all that sure of, it seemed a bit random for the storyline and it's development, but beside that, it had everything a cowboy romance could need.

This was such a cute small town / cowboy romance

We have 3 besties that are not happy with their lot and decide to cash in a childhood pact to pack up and move to a small town and open up a business of their own
The characters were a bit flimsy and the plot was ridiculous however it was such a fun time read,
The chemistry between the FMC and the MMC was exactly what you expect where it’s mostly lust induced rather than a deep liking of each other.

But a great start to a series and I canne wait to read more about the besties as they stole the show over this book

This was such a lovely, triumphant love story. The cowboy and the sassy big-city bar owner are working out how to share the small town and the ranch and make a bar that works for everyone. The three women that the book is built around are all great. Strong women, fighting back against a hard knock and looking to find their feet and make their peace in the world. This book is all about Carly and cowboy Jaxon. Two strong personalities that are set up to clash; however, underneath the pain, bruises and the past, there is a real chance at them finding their other half in each other.
A great look at life on a ranch, the wants and needs of farm life and who isn't seduced by the birth of a calf or foal?

Soo this book has some tething problems that I wasn't expecting.

I really struggled to connect with the story of the book. It really felt like most of the plot only happened to make the main plot actually work out.

Like who buys a bar in a country area just to renovate it and change it to a city style place. Like do some planning instead. Obviously when it all fails Charly then gets the help of Jaxon who was the former bar owner. The rest is kinda spoiler heavy so I won't go into it.

I think the plot development could have used so much more work to bring the characters to life.

I wanted to love this small town romance (I mean, cowboys, right??) but although the descriptions of Timber Falls were lovely and I liked the immersion into ranch life, how close Charly was to her friends and also how bold and brave it was for them to up and move, I didn't get on with the writing, the dialogue or the characters. I hate to say it, but the whole thing fell a bit flat for me, the spicy scenes made me cringe so I had to skip them, and the dialogue felt forced and unnatural, and sometimes strangely formal. I wasn't feeling chemistry between Charly and Jaxon at all, and I have to say the end took a pretty unexpectedly sombre turn that didn't seem to fit the plot at all and in my eyes was really unnecessary. So whilst this was sadly a miss for me, my highlights were Thunder the horse, the town, the Naked Moose being called the Naked Moose and the general country vibes.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.
