I received an ARC from NetGalley.

The book talks about different profession women work or could have a space in the male dominated society. According to me, the book has an objective of showing to children that any profession discussed in the book isn't just specific to certain gender.

The theme or content discussed in the book has a scope to create a space in the classroom where students can present their opinion. Even at home, parents can use this book as an resource to discuss the basic ideas of women, patriarchy (at small level), and gender discrimination present in everyday life that may or may not be visible directly but if peel off the layer can be seen visibly. The book gives a starting point for such discussion.

The writing of the book is simple, interesting with good number of words that would get added to mental library. The illustrations present in the book are fascinating. Although, it had a scope of great discussion, I do think certain profession mentioned in the book is limited to certain country and may be cater to a certain class of a societal structure.

This book is easy to follow, with clear and meaningful illustrations. This book shows all the work that goes into building houses and breaks gender stereotypes in the job field by showing women doing these jobs. This book also has a lot of examples of safety and would be a great book to encourage safety in little ones while giving them a way to become curious about all the different jobs out there.

As an elementary music teacher, any children’s book that appears to be a retelling of a nursery rhyme or children song/story is an immediate “must check out” for me. When I was the title, I was hoping this was a retelling of The House that Jack Built, and I wasn’t disappointed! The illustrations of the diverse women who each have a hand in building the house are lovely, and I adore how each new person included a blurb about what their job was. We see an architect, a drywaller, a painter, and everyone in between! I can absolutely see myself using this book as a follow up to The House that Jack Built in my classroom, and showing my younger students that women and girls can do anything they want!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.

This book teaches young girls (and potentially boys) a very import lesson. That they can be anything. I wish this kind of book had been around when I was a child. I would've loved the encouragement that I could be or do whatever I d dreamed of in life. Every parent of a daughter should buy this book for them.

This book was such a fun read after recently having our house built, and I loved that it was all women who made the one in the book! Girl power! It was super cool learning about all the hard work that goes into this and what each job does.

I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I appreciate what this book is trying to do, and I think it largely accomplished it. We're still struggling to get girls to think about possible talents and careers in these fields, and I do think a book like this could help. I don't think that the "house that Jack built" format really worked for me, though. Still, I'll order it for my library and I'll read it to my daughter. The more our girls see themselves in diverse rolls, the better.

OMG, I'm in love with this book!!! I adore it for many reasons, especially because it encourages girls to believe they can do anything. It not only teaches kids about building houses but also emphasizes the importance of each job in the process. I really like how it shows each job needed to build the house and explains them clearly. The illustrations in the book are amazing and work well for all age groups.

Over the years, I have been involved with several Habitat for Humanity Women Builds. This book reminded me of that work and gave me an opportunity to share those experiences with my grandkids. I am always teaching them that girls and boys can both do anything they want. Great book! Thanks #NetGalley

This children’s book is an empowering and informative story on the many roles women can play in “building a house”. However, the lesson goes much deeper to instill in our young girls that women can do anything they set their mind to. Beautiful illustrations and easy to read text provides a great example of women as community leaders in many industries ranging from carpentry to landscaping.

A great book to teach little ones not only what it takes to build a house but shows the workers work safely. The house is built by woman so it shows little girls they can do these jobs too . The descriptions of the jobs are easy to understand. I love how each page follows the same format.

This is a great addition to any young girl’s library! Great examples of diverse people women in roles that are often considered nontraditional. I spent a long time of my young life hearing that I could be anything, but I was rarely given practical examples of what that meant. All of these jobs are a great option for anyone and this books is a great tool to build an inclusive future.

This book was really cute! I liked the repetitive style, the disability representation, the fact that it was all WOMEN! It would be great to read to my students at my job during an occupation activity, especially to the little girls. I think it's important for girls to know they can do the "tough" jobs, which I think this book touches on. The illustrations were pretty as well.
