Harriett and her book club ladies are all doing well. They are all moving about and doing their recreational hobbies. Then, a hexed wooden doll is stolen from the local museum, and the ladies want to help find it. Of course, Sophie must assist them in the investigations.

However, Sophie isn't moving fast enough for Harriett, so she and her sister decide to investigate the museum.

Add to the missing doll, a member of the automotive garage club is found dead under Sally Stang, Wayne's 1965 Mustang that he is rebuilding at the club's garage. Now, Herb and the guys are all worried about Wayne. So, Harriett decides that Sophie has to find the culprit because they have this buy-sell-trade event coming up, and Jay Leno will be there. Harriet is one of the MCs. She will not allow this murder and the hexed doll to stop the event.

The guys are ready to help the ladies find the people messing with the citizens of Sun City West.

There are some crazy things to watch for:
• a crazy fishing trip
• the dog park antics
• a stakeout in a restroom
• Steadman finds the decoy box in a shipping facility

I always look forward to a Sophie Kimball Mystery. The relationship that Sophie and Harriett have is fantastic. But the situations that the Book Club Ladies get Sophie into are hilarious. My rating for Revved Up 4 Murder by J.C. Eaton is five stars. I highly recommend Revved Up 4 Murder to all the cozy mystery readers.

I wanted to point out that the car on the cover is a Chevelle, not a Mustang. Someone, please tell the cover artist so they don't make a mistake like that again.

This was another winner in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series, it had everything that I was looking for and enjoyed in this series. J. C. Eaton always has a great mystery to this type of book and I was enjoying figuring out what was going on.

I always am looking forward to the next book in this series. This one did not disappoint. Phee should become an investigator in the company instead of a bookkeepr as she does so much of the detecting. This was hilarious as usual and hard to put down.

I had fun, I laughed a lot and enjoyed this excellent addition to this beloved series. Streetman and the the seniors are as funny as usual and the mystery is quite complex and kept me hooked

The seniors at Sun City West are celebrating Wayne, a pinochle club member, getting his classic car ready to ride. Unfortunately for Wayne, a body is found in the garage the car is being worked on. It's even worse because the body belongs to a cranky Sun City resident who didn't have many friends so suspects are everywhere. Wayne's out of his mind, the Sun City book club members are on alert and Sophie is pulling her hair out!

Revved Up 4 Murder is the twelfth book in the Sophie Kimball Mystery seties. Once again, we are in for a funny and enjoyable read. Sophie is a great main character, and her mother, her mother's friends and pets, and other recurring characters make this series colorful and unique. The investigation leads to unexpected situations and there is never a boring moment. If you have been missing out on this series, please pick up Revved Up 4 Murder you won't regret it! It can be enjoyed even by readers who are not familiar with the series. Guaranteed to cheer you up!

This is a fun series that will entertain! Many characters that are all kind of quirky! I would certainly read another for a light hearted, clean cozy.

In this twelfth book in the series, Phee is happily married and enjoying her role as bookkeeper at Williams Investigation Agency. If it were only that, her life would be complete. However, as fate has it, her mother regularly calls Phee with problems, and expects her to be at her beck and call. Be aware that Harriet isn't your typical mother. She's crazy. Loony. And jumps to conclusions...

That being said, the newest case for the investigation agency is that there is a missing doll that was on loan from the Phoenix Art Museum to the Equity Council's, and it's gone missing. There's no sign of it. Zip. Nada. There's also a supposed curse -- that anyone who possesses the doll will be under a hex. It's because the doll once belonged to a little girl, and people believe her soul is trapped inside. With a treasure that's rumored to be worth a lot of cash. So of course they're on the case discreetly. Sure. Especially with two of Harriet's cronies on the council, they'll keep their word not to let anyone know, right? Uh huh. At least until the morning brunch with not only the ladies, but the men from the automotive club who are celebrating one of their own's good luck,

Which turns out not to be so good after all. A dead body is found underneath a car, which puts a halt to any restorations. Worse, the person who died was disliked by more than one other, and now Phee's antenna is up for clues. Unfortunately, the B4M ladies think that they have their own antennae (they don't); and what ensues are some very funny scenes with these women -- and even some of the men.

It's the usual riot around these people and I have to wonder how Phee still keeps her sanity. No wonder her aunt Ina's son moved away. No surprise there...scenes that 'feature' Streetman the Chiweenee are just as humorous as the other books, and I commend the author(s) on that. They place you effortlessly in the scene and you feel as if you were right there in the action. Watching and laughing, but grateful that you're not in the middle of it.

This book was so entertaining, and once again a winner by the writers. Harriet is clueless about almost everything, and you have to feel sorry for Phee growing up with her. But let's face it, Mama is funny. Really funny. And in this book, Paul Schmidt is a hoot (he being the resident fisherman who's crazy in his own way). Even the climax was fun to read.

When the killer is discovered, I knew pretty much from the beginning. But it's more complicated than that, and even I found it nicely written. I suppose you've figured out that I love this series. I also hope others will as well, and I look forward to the next one. Highly recommended.

This series is my favorite bit of chaos and this latest book was no exception. Phee is hoping for a peaceful bit of time but first a possibly possessed doll has gone missing and then a member of the Automotive Club is found trapped under the hood of a member's car. A member who just happens to be Wayne - part of the world of Sun City West and friends with Phee's mother Harriet and the rest of the book club crew.

This was a fun read from beginning to end. I especially loved the appearance of Rollo (the computer genius who requests to be paid in kitchen appliances) and Phee's Aunt Ina's "help". While there is a lot of zaniness there's also a solid mystery that kept me guessing as well as a likable cast of characters. I love seeing Phee and Marshall together - especially in their calm moments.

This is a series I have read from the very first book and I enjoyed this book just as much as the other books in the series. If you enjoy a fun cozy this series is a must read.

I'm such a fan of this series! The mysteries always keep me guessing, the characters are fun and people I would love to know and hang out with, and the setting sounds like a cool place to visit.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Revved Up 4 Murder is the next Sophie Kimball mystery. It was more chaotic than usual. So many completely crazy things were happening that it was hard to believe.
I don’t know any seniors that act as crazy as this bunch in Sun City West. I don’t know any that are this indulgent about their pets either.
I do like how the authors take two unrelated crimes and bring them together by the end. Each book is creative in a new way.
I like Sophie, Marshall, Nate and Augusta, so I always seem to come back to this series when a new book comes out,

A great who dun it story with two mysteries to solve. I love the community effort in everyone pulling together to discover what happened. I loved the interaction with including museum and auto garage. It was a real treat to include dogs that most may find annoying given their personalities but definitely helped crack the cases wide open. I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun mystery!

“Revved Up 4 Murder” is the delightfully funny twelfth book in J.C. Eaton’s Sophie Kimball mystery series. The plot is a bit convoluted – it involves not only a dead body found under a car being restored but the theft of an antique doll that may or may not be carrying treasure and a curse. This is not the type of book where you sit down and try to figure out who the killer is but instead sit down, buckle your seatbelt, and enjoy the ride. And it is quite a ride – the book is filled with colorful characters – both human and canine – starting with Sophie “Phee” Kimball, her mother, her mother’s friends, and her mother’s dog who pretty much steals the book (and helps dig up a clue or two). All of this makes for a delightful romp and a nice way to get away from the real world for a few hours.

Just when it seems this series can’t get any funnier, Streetman has some stellar aka hilarious, crazy incidents that only that silly little chiweenie could get into. I laughed the hardest at the fishing boat incident, but he was also pretty helpful in digging up clues and running away with other clues.

I was never sure who ultimately was at fault until the showdown and explanation. Rolo was in this one a lot and upped his usual kitchen gadgetry payment to something more than usual lol. In all fairness, he did help tremendously. I’m pretty sure Phee, Marshall and Nate’s rewards are gonna be getting some actual decent sleep now!

I loved the story concerning the cars as I am a car enthusiast. I laughed often and hard.
I recommend this story with strong characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

This was a standalone book but< I enjoy the character development throughout the series. I also like the setting of Surprise, Arizona.

Many funny laugh out loud moments are in this next in series that you will want to read cover to cover.

The husband and wife writing team has a winning series that all coz.y lovers will enjoy I love the humor, the characters and the intriquing sleuth. While clues are hard to find in this case, Phee’s other and her friends, along with her dog Streetman, shake things up fore than they ever plan to. Can Phee suvrive another case where her Mother puts her out as the detective when she keeps telling everyone she’s an accountant? Only time and the murderer knows.

I love this series along with the Wine Trail series from this duo of authors. A great mystery, wacky characters, a cute pup, and mayhem are in each and every entry. LOVE IT!
