this poetry conveys the deepest desire on how to be okay with oneself, other human beings and the world. it showcases the darkest thoughts, scenes and regret. makes the reader question their life in the more subtle way and sit through each passage to thoroughly meditate on how we live our lives so far.
It's a great poetry book, and I would highly recommend people to read it.
Seriously, who needs therapy when you can just read poetry???

Thank you Netgalley for an EARC of this book in exchange for my honest review
3.5 stars
Honestly I love any poetry books because there is always at least one poem that will resonate with you. I overall really liked this poetry book. I connected with many of the poems and liked that they touched all different topics of life. The one negative I have is that it didn't flow as nicely as other poetry books I've read. For a debut poetry book it was quite enjoyable and I would recommend
Will We Still Be Here Tomorrow is a very passionate book. From what I understand this collection talks about life in general. Different topics, different feelings, its all there. This collection really made me think and I love that. Everyone really needs to read this collection. You will not be able to put it down. Its a must read book.
I received a free copy of the book and voluntarily writing a review
this is an arc that i received from netgalley and the author, ford turrell. iโd like to thank both netgalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to both read and review this book.
however, iโd also like to thank both netgalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to learn that i do not like poetry. whilst the work in this book had deep deep meaning, i sadly did not understand any of it๐ญ. that may be because of my intelligence and interpretation of the pieces though, i have no clue๐คทโโ๏ธ.
anyways, my favourite poems out of the select few that i read were :
โ what ifโฆ
โ float
โ your own mind
This is a beautiful collection of poetry that will dig down into the depths of your soul. It is so emotional and thoughtful. Revealing yet comforting. Everyone will be able to relate to these words.
thank you for allowing me to read this book!
i am very fond of this poetry book. it has a really cute and sweet writing. it's nothing that feels heart wrenching or anything, it feels like just a sweet reassurance with very cozy and comforting vibes. it's a bit hard to explain, but the poetry did give me a rather visual feeling, as if i was really walking around on fields just living my best life after a long journey of healing.
now for the actual poetry structure, it leans more into modern than traditional. little to no rhymes from my perception but it doesn't have sentences excessively broke down into different lines just for "aesthetic" so it's very easy and short to read.
i also like how the author tried to show her concern for the younger generations through poems against school shootings and how they should be seen as a national concern. i am not american, but it is about damn time for the government to wake up for this problem that never seems to go away โ it only gets worse.
so in general, this book is highly recommended!
I hated, hated this collection.
Itโs the type of poetry I would expect from one of my studentsโheartfelt, yes, but completely unsubtle and often lacking in substance. It very much reads like โInstagram poetryโ, like someone wanted to share a meaningful message but thought just putting it like that would be boring so they inserted some line breaks and called it a day.
Easy read? Certainly, but it still felt like a waste of time.
The work in this poetry was so moving and so powerful! So many different themes were touched on and so many lessons to be heard. Amazing
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this before publication.
I love poetry collections and have published two of them myself. I enjoy a wide range of styles, themes, and imagery found in poetry. I read a lot of poetry, especially as an English teacher.
With that being said, there were parts of this book that were really good and parts that were just meh. Many of the poems had substance, great imagery and diction, smooth rhymes, and great messages. There were several poems, however, that reminded me of the instagram-type poems that seem to be popular now. They're more like statements than actual poems. If that's your jam, then you will probably enjoy them, but they were not for me. I also felt there wasn't cohesion with many of the poems, and that simply could have been due to their placement within the book. Perhaps my expectations for this book were too high. Will I buy a copy for my shelf? Probably not. That doesn't mean that I won't check out future work from this author because I do feel that many of the poems showed his talent for writing. I just don't feel that all of the poems included did that.
3.5 Stars "Will We Still Be Here Tomorrow" was a very quick and easy read. I enjoyed the themes discussed in this collection, however it didn't always feel like it blended or transitioned smoothly into one another. My two favorite poems were Resolutions and What If. Thank you to NetGalley and Sunrise Press for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
it was fine. the poems explored heavy themes of contemplating the complexities of love, grappling with the inevitability of death, or seeking solace in moments of despair. however, it isn't my cup of tea. i wasn't able to comprehend the emotions the writer is trying to convey, the words felt flat. they did not stood out for me; except for 'death weather'. despite that, i believe that in one way or another, other people will be moved deeply reading this collection
While many of the poems truly touched me, a few just didn't resonate as much with me personally.
Furthermore, some explored difficult subject matters and real-life struggles in a very raw, emotional way. While I'm so glad I read the collection
overall, it wasn't entirely what I initially pictured. That said, I can appreciate how bravely some poems addressed painful topics that clearly meant a lot to the authors. My preferences are simply a matter of personal taste - this is an impressive body of work that I'm sure will connect deeply with many other readers in different ways than it did with me.
Some of these poems were amazing! Some felt half-baked, or at least over my head. It was a little whiplash-y, the progression; one poem would be short and simple and then the next very intricate and dense. I deeply enjoyed the reading overall, and would recommend it for parents!
"Christmas 2022" HURT. I felt it so truly. I enjoyed a lot of these, but a lot of the time it felt like it was trying TOO much to tell the point of it, rather than letting the words paint it.
I have to say, I'm really upset this book isn't out yet! I got an ebook version to read and review and I desperately want this on my physical shelf! The poems were so lovingly written and paced and touched on emotions I haven't been able to name for my entire life. It was so moving, each poem sweeping me on to the next like a boat on the water. I absolutely adored this book of poetry and will be purchasing a physical copy when it's released.
