In "Theirs to Ruin" by Zoe Flynn, the protagonist finds herself in a precarious situation as she attends Crimsonvale University with the sole purpose of winning back her family fortune and gaining her freedom. The story takes an interesting turn as she is accused of a crime and three men come to her aid, each with their own agenda. Kage, the Irish Mob heir, sees her potential and is determined to help her. Dante, the school counselor, is a mysterious figure who rides with the local MC and is drawn to her. Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend Ty has become a bully and seems to be set on breaking her heart again. Despite their differences, she finds herself attracted to all three, even if it means they might ultimately destroy her. Overall, "Theirs to Ruin" offers an intriguing blend of romance and suspense that keeps the reader engaged until the very end.

DNF at 62% - I really wanted to love this, but I felt like I was missing something.
Loved Kage, but unfortunately he wasn’t enough to stay till the end.
For the first quarter of the book I had to keep checking that is wasn’t the second book in a series, because I couldn’t understand all the interest in Camille.

I DNF'ed at about 20% in. When I read the synopsis, I thought the book sounded incredibly interesting, and I read Dante's relationship to Camille as "school counselor" to mean a guidance counselor or advisor. So I was a little bit thrown to find that he was actually Cami's mental health counselor who she spoke to about the various traumas in her life until she stopped seeing him due to her attraction to him. I think this needs to be edited in the description of the book to make it clear that this is a counselor/patient relationship more than a faculty/student relationship (at least in my opinion).

I will say I REALLY liked Kage, and if I kept reading, it would have been exclusively for him.

When I tell you I absolutely devoured this book… I originally found this book on NetGalley.com. This is an honest review with spoilers!

THIS BOOK!! Y’all. The spice starts from the very beginning. If you love why choose romance or any type of smut or spice with a good story line this is the book for you. Kage might be my new book boyfriend. This book is absolutely amazing. It follows Camille, Kage, Ty, and Dante as they try to find Ava’s killer (Kage’s sister and Camille’s once upon a time best friend). The school they attend is a school for mafia families and pretty much any dirty politician families. Kage is the heir to the Irish Mafia and knows he cannot commit to Camille for that reason but it doesn’t stop him from treating her like an absolute queen. This book is FULL of spice and is worth the read. Trust me. Can’t wait to read book 2- “Theirs to Rule”!! P.s. Kage better not die or I’ll riot.

This book just was not for me.

Crimsonvale University and a school for the rich and the criminal. Students are the children’s of the world’s criminal elite. Daddy’s a corrupt politician and mommy runs the cartel kind of people. This book follows the story of Camille and three men who are absolutely obsessed with her while she tries to clear her name of murder.

I had a hard time with this book, I found the FMC to have her moments of strength, but over all her character felt incomplete. The men were also superficial lacking depth of character. I can tell the author was attempting to balance mystery with backstory and it missed the mark for me.

Lies, betrayal, secrets within secrets, and a world of criminals following their own code of justice and politics. Unique setting and complex subplots make this dark college mystery more than a romance. Action, murder, and nothing is as it seems, makes for an addictive read. No spoiler, but ends on a cliff ...

A university full of criminals spawn, a f***boy, guidance councillor, an ex, a jacobs ladder and a murder mystery...what's not to enjoy?
While it is a longer than average book, it still kept me interested the whole way through. There's a lot of mystery and unanswered questions I can't wait to find out in the second book.
Overall a great read, well done Zoe Flynn, can't wait to read more!
