Another really enjoyable read by Harlan Coben. This time it’s Myron Bolitar who has to work out what’s going on and trying not to get himself killed. He is ably assisted ( but sometimes hampered) by his best friend and colleague Winn. This is a really fast paced, almost gravity defying read at times, with a large cast, but plenty of twists and turns, and an unexpected ending. Myron is a really likeable character, given to a bit of introversion, self doubt definitely but with a very quick mind. He’s too honest for his own good too, at times, especially where it comes to his family and very close friends. Recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is the twelfth novel in the series but it can be read as a standalone novel. Myron Bolitar is a high profile ex basketball player/ sports agent/ attorney who resides in New York. He is visited by the FBI after a former client, Greg Downing’s DNA was found at a double murder scene. Greg supposedly died 3 years ago - Myron attended the funeral and gave the eulogy. Myron needs to find out if Greg is actually dead so he and his companion Win set out to discover if Greg really did die and why his DNA is at the murder scene.

I enjoyed this novel. The plot is full of twists and turns as secrets and lies are uncovered. As the characters are 12 books into the series they know and get on well together hence the humour in the dialogue. I wasn’t keen on the novel changing from the third to the first person a few chapters in but that is a personal preference.

Myron Bolitar is a high profile sports agent in New York, but finds himself digging into the background of one of his deceased clients after the FBI question him over his clients DNA being present at the crime scene of a double murder. Greg has been dead for three years and Myron is cynical of the FBIs evidence, but with the help of his friend Win they start to unravel Greg’s last known movements.

This book is fast paced and action packed. The characters are unfussy and to the point. There are twists and turns at every page, and the rollercoaster of in-plot leads leaves you dizzy. Just when you think you’ve worked this one out, another plot takes a swipe at your knees and leaves you falling down another path. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Myron and Win, and the villains POV intertwined with the story was interesting and added to the mystery. If you like books that are dialogue based this is for you! It made my mind work on overtime.

This is book 12 in the Myron Bolitar series but can be read as a standalone. To be released 23rd May 2024!

An interesting thriller with a twist, and a somewhat surprising ending! I loved being back with Myron and Win (my favourite of Harlan's characters) and in their world again. I hope Harlan will continue writing more books featuring them both.

The plot kept me guessing the whole way through, I didn't see the twist at the end coming. This is just as good as his early books. Can't wait to read the next one!

Myron Bolitar finds himself embroiled in a murder case involving a deceased former client whose life was entangled with his own. Along with his ally Win he begins to investigate, getting himself in some sticky situations along the way.

The plot of this book was interesting but I lost focus at times, this wasn't my favourite Harlen Coben book. For this reason I would rate it 3.5 stars.

I appreciate the opportunity to access this ARC, with thanks to netgalley and the publisher.

I have to admit, it took me until about 45% to get into this book. I really couldn't connect with Myron or Win, the latter really grating on me! However, when I did get into it, I couldn't put it down! I love a good thriller and this definitely kept you guessing until the end! I was convinced I knew who did it but I didn't see the twist coming!

I wasn't a big fan of the change from third person to first person, talking to the reader, in a couple of later chapters. It felt a wee bit strange changing it. I'm glad everything was cleared up in the end though - I hate unanswered questions!

Overall, I enjoyed it and would rate it 3 stars.

This is book 12 in the Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Cohen. Like previous books it has everything I've come to love- a great plot, familiar characters and plenty of twists. The ending was especially surprising and definitely kept me in the edge of my seat!

Wow what a fabulous book. Many many twists and turns as expected with Harlan Coben! It kept me on the edge of my seat. At times it was a bit superficial but that suits his writing style. Had me in tears at the end!

For those who have yet to discover the real pleasure to be had by riding along with Myron , and his reliable companion Win, the best advice is to start at the beginning of the series. In this way the reader can savour the delight of Harlan Coben’s very effective and regularly humorous writing; the cleverly constructed plot; and the well-deployed violence in a just cause as the characters are fleshed out through the series. However, those who want to just dive in with ‘Think Twice’ will not be disappointed. The central plot device of setting up innocent individuals for murders using the latest forensic techniques is not an entirely novel idea, but is especially well developed and works to keep the reader guessing. The closing chapters introduce some challenges for regular readers - but to say more would be to give too much away. Suffice to say that all loose ends are suitably tied up by the final page.
Strongly recommended.

This is the 12th book in the Mylon Bolitar series and the first I have read. I will definitely be starting at the beginning! Also my first Harlan Coben book but I am a fan of the TV adaptations. The book stands up on its own and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Myron is an ex-basketball star turned sports agent slash attorney. When his clients DNA turns up at a murder scene Mylon knows something isn't right as his client is dead. This book is an absolute page turner as I expected from this author. My only criticism is that I was sometimes confused who was speaking in the lengthy dialogues but I really enjoyed the way the speech was written. Win and Mylon's relationship did make me smile. A brilliant who dunnit.

Myron Bolitar is sitting in his office at his sports rep firm when his whole day is spoilt by the arrival of the FBI.

They are searching for Greg Downing,Myron's old nemesis and more recent client in connection with a murder where his DNA has been found.

Myron believes Greg to be dead and even gave his eulogy. However,if he is still alive, Myron is bound by attorney/ client privilege.

A dilemma worthy of Coben!

Myron decides to investigate with his friend Win and a story unfolds involving Myron's ex (and Greg's wife), his biological son and Greg's gay lover.

Twists and turns abound as Harlen Coben nails it again!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Century Publishing for the chance to read and review this book.

Fast-moving mystery thriller -captivating stuff.

Myron Bolitar, along with his usual helpers, becomes embroiled in a murder investigation which becomes increasingly personal on many levels. There’s a bit of a body count, lots of topical issues and plenty of surprises and revelations.
Unsurprisingly it’s engaging and has its occasional lighter moments. Well worth a look but, although it can stand alone, the previous books add more context. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Think Twice has quite a complicated plot (not unusual for Harlan Coben) and sees the return of Myron Bolivar, a solid, likeable character. The story line is well teased out and there are suitably placed twists and turns to keep the tension high. Having said that, however, there are too many repetitive explanations of the relationships between Myron and one of the suspects and also between Myron and his son which only serve to detract from the enjoyment of the story. The highly unlikeable, arrogant and near-psychotic Win also makes too many appearances for my liking, usually to supply a deus ex machine to move the plot along or to perform an act of gratuitous cruelty. As always, Coben leaves me part-entertained and part frustrated.
I received an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

How can the DNA of a man who’s been dead for three years suddenly show up at a murder scene? How indeed! The premise for Think Twice is classic Coben and, as you would expect from the master of the hook and twist, you should strap yourself in and prepare for a wild ride. Packed full of twists, action, humour and unforgettable characters, this is a fast, easy read that you’ll binge in a couple of days. It also heralds the return of Coben’s much-loved series character Myron Bolitar. I’m more familiar with the author’s standalone books but I’ll now be checking out the other Myron books for sure.

Gorgeous. It's like cuddling up on the sofa under your favourite duvet, deeply enjoying another chapter in the lives of Myron and Win. Their camaderie, humour and 'take no prisoners' mindset is a joy to read. Myron books aren't just books to read, they're an experience to savour, a pleasure to hold onto and a thrilling ride all at the same time. Please can we have a new chapter every year or two. I'd love to see them as a duo on the big screen. That's rare for me to say as I nearly always prefer the original books to TV/cinema adaptions. Thank you Harlen for another riveting, rollercoaster read.

Another in the Myron Bolitar series but it works perfectly well as a stand alone.
Myron is a sports agent and when the DNA of an ex client, Greg Downing, is found at a murder scene Myron and his close friend Win start to investigate. Myron is good at solving problems - and he will need to be here as Greg is supposed to have died three years previously. It soon becomes even more complicated as it appears that a whole series of murders are actually linked.
This is an intricately woven and clever plot. Harlan Corben writes in a particular style which I find a little off putting at times but still enjoyed his book!
