I really enjoyed reading this, it had everything that I wanted from the description. The characters worked well in this universe and I was hooked from the first page. I was invested in the world and characters. I enjoyed the way Emily Gale & Nova Weetman wrote this and left me wanting more.

Engaging and immersive. A recommended purchase for school and MG collections where historical and horse stories are popular.

A cute little novel that I very much enjoyed.
I love time travel novels except thos one was a little bit different. This one was no exception. I finished it in one day because it was so good!
I also love any story that has horses in it so that's why I choose this cute story.
Imagine just walking somewhere instead of riding a horse and stumble into a portal. I've always dreamed of doing that but I know there is no such thing.. that's why imagination is fun!
I am giving this novel 5 stars for keeping me turning the pages to see what happened next.
I absolutely loved this friendship across two timelines and I rather liked the adventure this book offered.
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I enjoyed making friends with Kate and Ruby. They made an awesome team in my opinion.

A fun MG time travel novel featuring two Australian girls who slip into each other's lives through a time portal. Ruby gets in trouble in 2022, after falling in with a bad crowd. Katie is the sister of outlaw Ned Kelly and tries to keep him and his gang safe from the law in 1878. As the girls appear in each other's respective eras, they learn from each other in this well-written tale that will keep young readers captivated. Recommended!

This is a really entertaining middle grade book about time travel that I increasingly enjoyed the further I got into it. Initially, I did not find Ruby a particularly likeable character. Raised by a single parent who is working all God's hours, Ruby falls in with a problematic peer group, engaging in shoplifting and a series of pranks and misdemeanours.

After their attempt to spirit away a tractor belonging to the strict father of one of the friends goes badly awry, Ruby is sent to stay on the farm with her Uncle Harry. She is resentful of the punishment and misses her friends, who continue to be up to no good.

It is while she is riding her horse Queenie one day that Ruby comes upon a time travel portal and meets Katie, the younger sister of the outlaw Ned Kelly, who has accidentally travelled to 2022 from 1878!

An exciting adventure follows, with the girls using the portal to travel back and forth. In the process, Ruby learns not to take her advantages for granted, while Katie is introduced to the pleasures of pizza in between trying to help her brothers who are fugitives from the rough justice of that earlier era. This story was a lot of fun, and will be greatly enjoyed by readers in the target age group.
