2.75/5 stars! Sigh. I'm so disappointed in this book. The cover and premise were amazing. But Truly is one of the most annoying characters I've ever read. I just wanted Colin to go find someone else cause girl is not worth it.

This was a fabulous read, I loved Truly as an MC and really felt for her with her need to try and fix her parents' relationship. Also the spicy scenes... WOW they were incredibly hot! Lastly, the bi rep and on-page conversations around it meant a lot to me.

This was exactly the type of romance I wanted and that I have come to expect from Allexandria Bellefleur's work. I had a great time.

HOT. HOT. HOT.
I loved the characters, the story line and the spice. Exactly what I was looking for!

The key for me that is, to a good book is to make me feel everything. I want to laugh, I want to fan myself with some spice, I want to swoon I want it all. I am a woman so it is my right to feel like this. With fiction we can have it all and when a book gives you it all, well it's an absolute delight! A romance author who is having a crisis of faith with love who is about to embark on a relationship podcast with a divorce lawyer, chefs kiss to this plot! Of course we know where this is heading but can that not be said with most romance novels, yes, yes it can. I don't search cowboy romance expecting to read about an accountant! I want escapism, I want romance lust and I want complications, always! I really enjoyed this book, I loved the romance, the friendship and layer that with humor and spice and my friends, we have a winner.

So if you're into good things, you love a romance and you have a few hours to obsess, jump in, Truly, Madly, Deeply is for you!

Truly, Madly, Deeply was my first foray into reading Alexandria Bellefleur's books. And honestly, for the most part, this was pretty good. Just that cover alone (and Colin's resemblance to a certain character *wink wink*) was enough to make me want to read this. I was also easily hooked from the first chapter. With just the right amount of humour and some really insane chemistry between the two main characters, I found myself speeding through this. But somewhere in the middle, I felt things got slow. I personally felt the pacing was slightly jarring, but overall, the pacing of the entire book was pretty good. Another thing, and again, this is just me talking, was Truly's name. I loved the uniqueness of it, but there were far too many moments where I mistook her name for an adverb.

But I will say though, the chemistry between Truly and Colin was intense and pretty hot. Plus their banter was just *chef's kiss*.

After reading Truly, Madly, Deeply , I know one thing for sure and that is, I am going to be picking up Alexandria Bellefleur's other books now!

This was a fun and comedic read that had me hooked from start to end. I really enjoy the characters and the premise. The romance was angsty and the chemistry was sparking!

Oh my days there’s just something about Ms Bellefleur’s writing that I’m obsessed with, in love with, will forever be obsessed with and in love with. I am a constant giddy, feet kicking, blushing, happy crying (and sad crying) puddle of a human whilst reading her books, and will happily continue to be so for the rest of my life!

Truly’s first impression of Colin was hot?! My first impression of Colin was frothing at the mouth gorgeousness, and spoiler alert, he’s literally just words on paper. But in my imagination? Phwoar

I just loved their chemistry so much! All their little bickering and flirting had me melting! Nobody writes flirty arguing like Alexandria.

A moment of silence (not Truly though 👀) for the front door scene.

I am just so overly obsessed, their relationship was genuinely addictive and I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them!

This was a fun read. I loved Colin but I don’t know if Truly had the strongest character arc. I thought the two of them had great chemistry and I enjoyed seeing them give into the tension and each other, I also found the banter between them entertaining. I just wanted a little more growth from Truly.

The banter?!?!?! I LOVED THIS. Super quick and easy to read, hilarious, cute, FANTASTIC chemistry... This was delightful! I'm officially an Alexandria Bellefleur stan. The spice was perfection, Colin and Truly were so wonderful together, and what I loved most was how realistic this felt (three cheers for no miscommunication!!). They knew how to acknowledge, accept and understand each other's feelings, and it was beautiful. Colin was an utter SIMP for Truly and I loved every second of it. Plus, this has a real celebration of musical theatre, which I wasn't expecting but surprisingly enjoyed, even if all the references got to be a little cheesy at times. This was just so FUN!

Thank you for my earc of this book. I loved this story and can’t wait for more from this author!
The romance itself was great and I loved the bi rep for both characters!

Cute breezy fast read, with some laugh out loud moments.
I must admit the first chapter was very jarring and difficult to read, but thereafter the book flowed. Also the heroine was not the most engaging character, whereas the hero was rather swoon worthy

Relatively low angst character driven story. A nice refreshing read with rounded main characters.

The blurb is a bit misleading as it makes it seem like the podcast is going to be a bigger part of the book. It’s important as it’s how the leads meet each other but after that there aren’t really any more scenes of them doing the podcast. This isn’t a negative, I didn’t miss it and ended up enjoying what the story turned out to be but I just wanted to warn anyone who may be going in to this solely for a podcast plot feature.

I liked the secondary characters but they didn’t feel as fleshed out or utilised as they could have been. The best two were Truly’s parents likely because they had the most to do with the main plot.

I liked how low angst the actual romance was once you see past the bickering to how gone for Truly Colin was from the start, it was just waiting for Truly to accept it.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

3.5 ⭐ rounded down.

I liked this book a lot. It made me laugh out loud many, many times - Truly and Colin's banter could not have been better. Colin himself??? Disgustingly good. Infectious energy, obsessed with his girl, he ROCKED. I wasn't much a fan of the storyline with Truly's parents and how she consistently tried to insert herself into their relationship and actually that it ultimately paid off for her in the end?? That brought the vibe down for me a bit. But overall, it was a really fun read.

Okay I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of Alexandria Bellefleur‘s books yet but I also only read her debut and the second book in that series. And the books were perfectly fine! I just didn’t love them. Something about the writing made me not connect to the characters, I wasn’t really emotionally invested in the characters.

Truly, Madly, Deeply on the other hand? Obsessed. I knew I would be when I saw the cover and then the synopsis? Uff. Sold, immediately. And I’m so glad one of my most anticipated romance releases wasn’t disappointing.

From what the teasers the author shared on her instagram I knew this book was going to be horny and full of bitchy banter but oh boy was this book horny (& full of bitchy banter). And I couldn’t have had a more fun time reading this.

Truly and Colin were one of the most fun couples I’ve read about in a while. They were bickering a lot and I loved how being mean to each other was their love language but they also never purposefully hurt the other person.

Maybe my initial 5 star rating was mostly because of how much I loved this book while reading. I’m not sure if this is a book I’m going to think about all of the time or will still love in a few years but it was exactly what I needed when I read it and I think that’s enough to give it 5 stars. Also seriously thinking about getting a copy for my shelf because the cover is just everything.

Review (Review copy provided by NetGalley)

A super funny book that made me laugh out loud in the middle of a university lecture (Prof was not amused).

Synopsis of the story: Truly catches her fiancé cheating on her and loses faith in true love when her parents announce that they are taking time off. She meets Colin at an interview/podcast of all places - and hates everything about him. However, the more she meets him in the city, the more they start talking and are able to set aside their prejudices.

Truly, Madly, Deeply is a great rom-com for in-between. A perfect summer book that belongs in every suitcase. If you enjoy a good laugh, prefer something spicy and don't fancy deep, complicated storytelling, you can't go wrong with this one.

Definitely worth recommending.

This was easy to read and I was hooked from about 2/3 of the way through. I loved Colin and Truly's relationship - the banter, the heat and tension, the way they were both so equally stubborn, the way they stuck up for each other (these moments were actually my favourite parts!)

This is written in third person POV, in past tense, and from Truly's perspective. I found this means of storytelling effective, but I found it hard to connect with Truly.

I did enjoy this book, but I felt as though something was missing. I can't put my finger on what that something is...

Much like Bellefleur’s other works, this was laugh out loud funny and, on several occasions, the book had me hiding behind my hands cringing from the second hand embarrassment. Bellefleur is such a magnificent romance writer, I loved the chemistry Colin and Truly had and I loved seeing their relationship grown and develop (especially without one of those silly third act break ups, which more often than not can ruin a story!).

As always, the Taylor Swift references were excellent…and did I spy a character whose appearance is inspired by Buck from 911? I know the author loves that show.

All in all I loved this. It was goofy, spicy, funny, romantic and just an all together amazing and entertaining read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' by Alexandria Bellefleur.

'Truly, Madly, Deeply' is the latest book by Alexandria Bellefleur and honestly, I'm quite annoyed by it although I'm giving it a 4. And I'll explain why I'm giving it a 4: Colin. Only Colin. Alexandria has a knack for writing great characters like Colin and then she ruins it by making them fall in love with annoying people.
