This is getting to be quite the competitive market, the amount of books based on the USA's National Parks there are now. This gives us a potted look at the wildlife and geology of some of the main ones, but will forever remain divisive in leaving out your favourite. All 63 National Parks are here, on introductory maps if nothing else, and then by region we get into greater detail – the chosen few have a double-paged spread with panoramic view and paragraph of introduction, while their second spread is more scrap-booky, as if we'd put in our souvenir postcards or photo prints (ask your parents) and annotated them with healthy captions.

So yes, you could also accuse this of being wasteful with space – the full spread artworks being there where more data and info about the parks could be had. But this is pitched young, and few are the schoolkids who will have hit all the Parks in the Lower 48, ergo not having them all to read about in equal balance is probably not a dangerous thing. And even if I have a spurious connection to Missouri, even I cannot pretend Gateway Arch deserves the coverage of Yellowstone or Denali (the only one of these I've been to).

Newly in paperback for 2024, this would appear to be a slightly budget-aware reprint of what first came out in 2018. The fact it still comes out in this format at all is testament to how decent a product it was in the first place – and a strong four stars is further evidence of that from me.

This was such a lovely introduction to a lot of the wonderful national parks around the United States!

Separated out by regions, there’s brief blurbs for all sorts of national parks. Then there’s more in depth explorations of several of the parks.

The adorable artwork illustrates animals, plants, notable landmarks, and exciting phenomena in all of these locations. The artwork very strongly reminds me of the kind of retro style national park advertisements. There are several full page illustrations that I would quite happily purchase as prints.

This was an absolute delight to share with my nibling, and I can’t wait to take them to see all of these amazing locations in person.

Thank you to both NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this arc.

A wonderful book jam packed with facts and information and bright engaging illustrations. This would be perfect for homeschooling or using to expand your knowledge, I really like how this book was organised with each park having its own double page spread showing its location and lots of details about it and the animals that call it home.

This book is perfect for children especially if they are being homeschooled. I enjoyed that the book covers different parks and shares information about each park including some of the wildlife and attractions that can be found within the parks. It also has beautiful illustrations to go along with each park. I highly recommend it for anyone to read because even as an adult I learned new things reading this book and my little one loved it!

We are in love with this book! So wonderfully done. This book was created for students but families can really enjoy and use this book at home as well. I love how packed it is with simple and easy to understand information, helping us learn while having fun. The parks are divided into regions and each park has stunning illustrations that really catch your attention. We found the parks our family has been to; Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon and we live in the Great Smoky Mountains. This is a book families can use as they travel and discover these amazing national parks for themselves. It is also great for those who are unable to travel to discover our country's beautiful National Parks themselves. This would also be a wonderful guide to use in classrooms, the possibilities are endless.

This is exactly the type of book I would have loved to read as a kid. As an adult National Park enthusiast, I love to see books like this, detailing all that the parks offer.

I really enjoyed the illustrations and felt that they made the text more accessible. It was enjoyable to see that plants, animals, and even terrain were detailed per park. While this is marketed as a children’s book, I think even adults will find this enjoyable. Whether you’re new to parks or a seasoned visitor, anyone will enjoy this book!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This was a fun read about the various US national parks with interesting facts and tidbits.

This is a very well planned out book, giving an outlook of National Parks of the USA with a concentration on what appears to be younger readers and those who have never been to the parks. The photos and layout are visually appealing and are pleasant to look at.

The author does a great job explaining the different parts of the country, and how all included parks fall into different continents of the country. Once we enter the different continents, the author breaks down each of the parks within including the wildlife that can be potentially found in each park.

I think the content included in this book is well organized and generally well presented. However, the connected letters font that has been used for the main headers of the book is so distracting it’s hard to get through. It’s not even cursive, just a modern version of what it may look like if we ever pushed it again in society. I really found it hard to read through. It just takes up too much real estate in the book for it not to be distracting.

I really love the artwork in this book -- it definitely steals the show. This is a short book divided by region + contains information on each of the national parks + beautiful illustrations of different flora/fauna + wildlife you can find, + cute factoids. Great way to make learning fun for kids and honestly also adults. As someone who wants to one day visit all the national parks, this was a fun way to remember the ones I've already been to + inspire future trips for the ones I've yet to see!

I received this ARC from Netgalley for my honest review. and I LOVED this one. This is a great book describing National Parks. The pictures were simple but fun. I liked that it gave descriptions of the parks from vegetation to animals and climate. While it's geared towards children, as an adult I found it quite interesting and piqued my desire to do a little more research on some of the parks listed for an upcoming road trip that I might have otherwise overlooked. Definitely will add to our collection when it comes out in May!

"National Parks of the USA" by Kate Siber is a visually stunning look at our gorgeous national parks. It makes a perfect reference book for home or school that children will want to revisit for years to come!

The layout of this book was unique, and I really enjoyed it. It is broken into the following sections:
- EAST
- CENTRAL
- SOUTHWEST
- ROCKY MOUNTAINS
- WEST
- ALASKA
- TROPICS

Each section has an introduction map, followed by stunning full spread feature for each National Park in that region. The illustrations are top-notch. Children will learn about each National Park's size, plants, and native animals.
