The Nowhere Girls is the first book in the Nikki Cassidy series. I haven't ready any books by this author before, so this was a completely new one for me.
Nikki Cassidy is an FBI agent with a sad past. Her sister was abducted and murdered when the girls were both teenagers. It's something which (as you would expect) has had a huge impact on Nikki's life and the course it has taken still.
This is quite a quick read and I found myself getting through it quickly. There were a few things that I wasn't completely convinced about and I did guess quite a few of the twists before they happened. This is the first book in the series though, so I'm hopeful that future books will build on the characters and add a bit of depth to the stories.
I enjoyed this read and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

This was not the book for me. It had all the things which would make me think it was a perfect fit. However, I couldn't connect with any of the characters. It felt for me like a bunch of details with no emotions. Nikki Cassidy had the oddest relationships with everyone, her finance, her family, her co-workers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy of The Nowhere Girls by Dana Perry.
This is a great start to a new series about FBA Agent Nikki Cassidy, and this one’s personal
15 years ago Nikki’s sister 12 year old Caitlin was abducted and murdered, and every year Nikki’s goes back to visit her killer to ask him why he did it, but he wouldn’t talk.
This year he did !!!!!!

The Nowhere Girls features FBI agent Nikki Cassidy. She returns to the small town where her sister was murdered years before looking for answers. The killer is in jail, but has never discussed any of the details - until now. And then another young girl goes missing on the anniversary ...

The set up is good here, although hardly original. But The Nowhere Girls is a very well written thriller that draws the reader in. Nikki Cassidy is a well crafted lead character: a star in the FBI but with many troubles. Her return hone is not at all what she expected, and becomes a life changing event.

Cassidy and her team find several linked crimes but cannot get to the bottom of the case. A lot of effort and some good detective work establish some hints, but they are not sure who they can trust. The ending is well worth wating for in a well crafted novel full of twists.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

While the writing was a little hard to read at times I did love the storyline and mystery this book presented. While part of her sister’s disappearance was solved the ending left you on kind of a cliff hanger.

I will be reading the next in the series for the mystery factor.

The nowhere girls is a captivating crime thriller about main female character Nikki who is an fbi agent on the hunt to figure out who kidnapped and k*lled her sister. This reads as a whodunnit thriller and the premise is very interesting. The first 30-40% of the book sets the scene and story of Nikki’s sister the town and their officer father. In this section of the book it’s written kinda slow paced and a little boring but once you get past that first 30% things kind of start to happen. The questions start coming and the edge of the seat or fast pacing really gets you wanting to keep reading and finish it to figure out what’s happening and who is the killer. I had my suspicions of the killer and the twists but in the end I was actually wrong. This book leads you down a path of both trying to figure out the crime/criminal but also wanting to figure out the family/romantic stuff too. I’m not used to wanting to have romance in thriller like this but it was good. I never thought I would be rooting for a potential suspect to actually get together with the lead. I was also not expecting to cry or get attached to a character so fast and then have it ripped out from under me but this book is literally giving you all the things:romance, family drama, swooning, crime, emotions all in one. I know this is only the beginning for Nikki and I can’t wait to jump into the next one.

Very good start to a new story. Nikki Cassidy had got what it takes to get the bad guy. I can’t wait for the next installment to see if there are returning characters and if she will have a new love interest. Suspenseful story, content may be a little rough for some as far as how the murders happened . It was a quick read for me. Thank you to NetGalley for this free advanced copy in exchange for my honest feedback

This book is very gripping. When I read the description for it I was intrigued.
The opening chapter captured my attention and made me want to keep reading. I was frightened and scared throughout. I dreaded to think what was going to happen next. There are a lot of gasping moments in the book that shock you to the core.

This is a tremendous read and I am going to get stuck straight into the next book in this series.

The Nowhere Girls kept me entertained and guessing until the very end. Nikki, an FBI investigator who specializes in crime against children, is thrown back into a case from 15 years earlier. The case of the kidnapping and murder of her twelve year old sister. It turns out the case wasn’t as simple as it first seemed, and Nikki faces threats and attempts on her life in order to find justice for her sisters and other nameless victims. There are a few surprises along the way, and one devastating“what-if” relating to Nikki’s love life. My two small issues with the book is that some of the story is repetitive, and the in-person scenes between Nikki and her fiancé are odd. The Nowhere Girls is the start of a new series, with Nikki as the lead. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy crime books.

July 19 is the most significant day in Nikki Cassidy’s life. It is the day her sister went missing. 15 years ago, and 6 days later, she is found dead. David Munroe confessed and is currently serving his time, although 15 years later he claims it wasn’t him.
Nikki is now an FBI agent, this claim brings her back to Huntsdale to investigate. Another young woman who is been missing since July 19.
This book had its twist and turns , this is the first book in the series, and I am on to book 2 for more of Nikki Cassidy!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this arc.

I enjoyed reading this story but it was very repetitive and a little unrealistic. The plot was ok! I'm still gonna read the next books in this series.

Fantastic page-turner! This was a twisty, exciting read, the first in what promises to be a great series. I powered through in a few days. The main character Nikki was the right mix of formidable and relatable. The main mystery wrapped up nicely, I highly recommend it.

It's always great to get in on the first book in a series at the start and as a feel good FBI crimey sort of read, this hit all the right notes for me.
It was fast paced with a degree of romance filtered through it, characters that I look forward to finding out more about, high stakes and emotional back stories.
I found this an easy quick read that kept me hooked from the start.
A couple of minor irritations weren't enough to interfere with my enjoyment of the book and I was happy to skip through the pages on a rainy March afternoon.
4/5 for me

Brilliant first book, loved every minute of it, I’m onto the second one now so hopefully it’s just as good, not read this author before but i love the style of writing AAA

This book was gripping from the get-go. It jumped straight into the story without any of the fluff that some books have. New information came to light at just the right time to keep the story moving without bombarding us.

The main character, Nikki, is full of determination to solve both her sister's case and the cases of the other missing girls. However, I did find her character difficult to like. She seemed quite self centred and in her own bubble so I couldn't connect with her. Hopefully she will develop more in the next books in the series as I really liked the other characters!

I cant wait to jump into book 2!

The Nowhere Girls by Dana Perry (Book 1) is a good crime thriller. The series follows Detective Nikki Cassidy, who is part of the Crimes Against Children Squad of the FBI.

On the anniversary of her sister’s death, FBI agent Nikki Cassidy takes a call that has her heart pounding in her chest; another girl has been taken. Nikki rushes to her small hometown of Groveton, Ohio. She will do anything to stop another young girl from dying, but she soon realizes that nothing is what it seems. And when a note is discovered near Natalie’s body addressed to Nikki, it’s clear what the murderer really wants: her.

The story got a bit repetitive about her sister being murdered and the constant reminder it was 15 years ago. Her boyfriend, Greg, was infuriating and a jerk.

There were a few eyebrow-raising moments that didn’t quite make sense to me. 1) I was also surprised that Nikki didn’t know the backstory of Thompson’s daughter, and 2) when Natalie didn’t show up at home, the parents waited until the following day to contact the police. Why didn’t they call later that night?

I did have a suspicion about the person responsible for the killings, but I thought, “Nah.” Oh boy, the ending was a surprise.

I liked The Nowhere Girls and this introduction to this new crime series, and I will check out the other books. I would recommend this book.

Another new author for me.... love it...... i really enjoyed getting to know the main characters in this first book.. Nikki Cassidy is an FBI Agent and is called back to her hometown where she grew up after there seemed to be similarities with her sisters murder 15 years ago.. Nikkis dad was the police chief when her sister went missing, and died after her body had been found, nikki thinks her dad was hiding something, was he? If so what? Why,
This book kept me hanging on wanting more, thinking did he?? Didnt he?? Lots of suspects for the murders, and clues as to who did it.. definitely recommend. If you want a new series try this. Onto book 2 woooohoooo
