When I saw that Keri Beevis had a new ARC available on NetGalley, I was so excited and hit that request button in record time. She has become one of my favorite authors, her books always keeping me up way past my bedtime! And after reading NOWHERE TO HIDE, I was reminded yet again of how much I love Keri Beevis with her riveting stories, her complex characters— and especially her forever faithful fur babies!! Dog lovers will fall in love with Golden Retriever, Chester, in this new book for his unyielding loyalty and unconditional love!!

Character development in this new novel was exceptional as I’ve come to expect from Keri Beevis. We are introduced to Callie, our protagonist whose beautiful and effervescent personality is crushed by fiancé and former celebrity, Duncan. As a reader, you feel Callie’s pain, humiliation, and suffering at a visceral level, her abuse at the hands of this sociopath. We soon meet Nico, the brother of one of Callie’s oldest friends, Laurel. Nico is everything Duncan is not, offering Callie, as well as sweet Chester, a safe place away from the storm. And I really loved Laurel, a devoted friend whom everyone should have and not many would deserve.

Once I started this book, I had such trouble putting it down. I was carrying my Kindle everywhere, stealing a few minutes when I could until I finished it. The story was compelling and intense, with me on the edge of my seat so many times! The “before” and “now” time jumps in the book were handled perfectly and seamlessly. And as Keri does so well, there are twists thrown in you won’t see coming! Admittedly, the abuse Callie suffers at the hands of despicably disgusting and vile Duncan is not easy to read, especially knowing such abuse is suffered by real women in the real world every day. Duncan’s outward demeanor belies an evil that Callie could have never anticipated. Keri Beevis fans will want to read this new novel as soon as they can! Brilliant!

I want to thank NetGalley, Keri Beevis, and Boldwood Books for gifting me the ARC of NOWHERE TO HIDE! It was such a privilege to read this before publication in April. And I appreciate you trusting me with an honest review!

In Keri Beevis's gripping book, "Nowhere to Hide," we are thrust into a chilling tale of abuse, fear, and resilience as Callie Parker, a high-status actor's girlfriend, flees from her abuser, Duncan Stone, and seeks refuge in a secluded cottage in the countryside in Norfolk with the help of an old friend.

From the outset, Keri Beevis paints a vivid picture of Callie's desperation and terror. She is trapped in a relationship with a man who wields power and control over her, both physically and emotionally. Callie's escape is a brave act of self-preservation, but it is only the beginning of her ordeal.

As Callie hides in the cottage, she is constantly haunted by the feeling that she is being watched. She hears strange noises outside, footsteps in the night. The sense of paranoia and vulnerability is palpable, and Beevis skillfully weaves an atmosphere of suspense that keeps the reader on edge throughout the book.

Thank you so much to Keri Beevis & NetGalley for an early copy of this thrilling story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Keri you have done it again and have yet to disappoint me.

This book was so well written it played out in my mind like watching a movie.

This psychological thriller took off with a bang and never let up until the end of the book. It was full of suspense and had you rooting for the main female character and absolutely wanting to throw the main male character into a river of hungry alligators.

I really appreciated the accurate depiction of of domestic abuse, the effect it has on its victims and the cycle that those relationships go through. As a survivor of domestic abuse, Keri you really did this justice.

Don't sleep on this one folks, you won't be disappointed. Also check your trigger warnings before you dive in.

Fairy tale to nightmare…love to evil…this is a story of mystery and intrigue. It is dark…gloomy…frightening…be prepared…the protagonist is in love…then she is not…he does not act like she thought he would…isolation…horrendous actions…scary…not for the faint hearted…difficult to finish…that being said, this author fashions a novel that is actually true to life..Netgalley

Callie falls head over heels for Duncan Stone. He is everything she could wish for. Handsome, attentive, rich…..but when she moves in with him, far from home, she discovers who he really is. This is an intense thriller about domestic abuse. Beevis writes with such skill that the narrative is uncomfortable in its shocking realism. The story is told partly in present day and partly in the past to give us Callie’s history. It was, due to the subject matter, a hard read. Be aware of your own triggers. However, the story moves at lightning speed and I couldn’t put it down. I also loved the references to my hometown of Devon.
The characters are all given a tremendous amount of depth so you will be rooting for Callie, Nico and Lauren.

**Book trigger warning*** physical abuse, narcissism, controlling partner, verbal abuse.

Callie falls head over heels with Duncan Stone, famous retired actor and current philanthropist but he turns out to anything but a loving partner to our main character. This story is told through the past, highlighting the abuse Callie endured during her time with Duncan and the present day and her desperate need to stay hidden from him.

The detailed descriptions of abuse Callie is exposed to is hard to read, and I would take note of the trigger warnings I have placed at the top of this review. Duncan is NOT a nice man, ok guys! Callie is a broken woman and the present tense chapters encapsulates her will and desire to become herself again with the help of old acquaintance, Nico, whilst still living in constant fear of Duncan finding her.

I finished this book in a day. I could NOT get enough and right up until the last word, it did not disappoint. This is the first novel I have read from Keri Beevis and it will definitely not be the last, because there is nothing better in life then a great storyteller.

Thank you to Boldwood Books, Netgalley and Keri Beevis for the opportunity to read and review this soon to be published novel.

Callie has allegedly died, her belongings were found but not a body. At least that's what her former partner Duncan is meant to think. In reality she has moved and gone to live with some old friends in Norfolk. Duncan is a celebrity and to begin with Callie couldn't believe that he was interested in her. She has gone from a confident young woman to one who questions every move she makes. Duncan was very controlling and punished her for any wrong move- from violence to shutting her away for hours on end and worse. Alternating chapters tell of her life with Duncan and since the escape. When she hears noises around the cottage she is terrified that Duncan could have found her. Can she stay hidden and more to the point stay safe?

Ooh! This is another cracker of a read from Keri. There’s a palpable tension between the pages which grew the further I got into the book. It is unsettling in parts, but maybe few realise that this type of thing does happen in real life and books like this raise awareness of both domestic abuse and coercive control. A brilliant plot that kept me enthralled all the way through. Clever, calculated and chilling. One to keep you up all night reading.

A proper edge of your seat thriller, this one. Hard to read in some places but what a great story, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in two days.
The quaint Norfolk setting was a great co treat to the fear Callie felt every day and the plot was fast paced with no let up.
The characters, especially Callie, were well written and I couldn’t help but feel for Callie’s plight.
It’s a 10/10 for me, the perfect novel to curl up in a safe warm bed with.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing this book, with my honest review below.

Nowhere to hide by Keri Beevis was a pretty intense domestic suspense novel. From the start (and the description) you know Callie is running away from a loving relationship gone wrong with Duncan, but as the book unfolds you start to see how the relationship progressed and got to such a poisonous place.

The gaslighting and abuse was hard to read because you want to serve Duncan a taste of his own medicine, but it’s balanced with Nico, an old friend of a friend who is supporting Callie and trying to build trust with her. And while this type of story has been done before (including in movies) the reason for that is because it is happening to people every day, and I appreciated reading a well written story that seemed to have the possibility of a happy ending for the characters.

I would recommend this for anyone who enjoyed domestic suspense!

Callie Parker falls madly in love with Duncan Stone, a retired actor. To her surprise, the feeling is mutual. Within weeks, she is living with him.
Then she gets to know the real Duncan Stone, who has alienated her from her friends and family, and controls her every move.
She cannot run, she has nowhere to hide.

Wow, this really is an edge of the seat thriller. Callie is frightened and has no confidence. The man really broke her spirit.

She feels she can trust no one, and she is correct. The sweetest smiles hold the darkest secrets.

Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood books for the opportunity to read this book.
