i am honoured to have received this arc from netgalley and panmacmillan - i literally teared up when i received the email. becca has been my fav author for a while now ever since reading lovelight farms in 2022 and so reading this was like coming home - exactly how charlie feels when he’s back in inglewild

charlie and nova were the perfect ending for me. i related so hard to their thoughts, feelings and struggles and just how they were - they felt so real to me. i adored how becca portrayed them and kept their struggles and emotions clear on the page - how she wrote about it was perfect and i wouldn’t change it for the world

their love story was beautiful to watch unfold. the storyline was unique yet had similar tropes to many of my favs and so it was truly a wonderful experience for me.

getting to be with all of the characters again made me the happiest gal in the world - i’m so whipping out my inglewild phone tree mug after this and having a tea. being back at the farm and layla’s with caleb and beckett and evie - with stella and luka tying the knot was the best way to end the series.

and as becca said in the acknowledgments, this isn’t goodbye, we’ll see each other again or however many times i want to reread my fav series

i will forever support becca and i’m already excited for her next work 👀 which i’m keeping my beady eyes out for as i know she’s already keeping secrets

Welcome back to the idyllic town of Inglewild... 🍁

Business Casual can be enjoyed as a standalone rom-com, but I feel like you'd get way more out of it if you read the previous books in the Lovelight series as they are all interconnected. By reading the previous books first, you get a deeper appreciation of the ongoing growth of previous characters/relationships and are more emotionally invested in their journey. I absolutely adored the callbacks, especially to our original hazelnut latte drinking couple - Luka and Stella.

The smalltown setting of Inglewild is what appeals to me most about this series. It's carefully constructed to provide as many cosy vibes as possible. It's straight out of a Hallmark movie, in the best possible way.

Charlie and Nova have undeniable chemistry from the first chapter. Charlie has ADHD and I think this is really represented well, although could have been explored in more depth.

The stakes are pretty low as Charlie appears to have the flexibility and financial freedom to basically follow his heart from the get go, but I understand his hesitance to fully commit due to his self-esteem and toxic relationship with his father.

Don't be mistaken for thinking this book is just a cute rom-com. There's toe-curling spice that's written perfectly. Charlie is definitely the king of foreplay and dirty talk. None of their physical interactions seem forced or just added for shock value. Their relationship is incredibly sweet and endearing.

Business Casual is the perfect cosy romance to curl up to and is a great addition to the Lovelight series.
