Retired superhero Jessica Jones is approached in her PI role by a wealthy New York woman who claims that her twins, Lark and Fox, have not been the same since they went to visit their father in the UK.

When Jessica visits Britain to investigate, she stumbles upon a dastardly plot that goes far beyond what has happened to the twins. But can she take on the powerful forces at work here?

Lisa Jewell delivers an exciting read with, as always, a twist in the tail. This will be greatly enjoyed by her fans, as well as those who love Marvel characters. A cracking start to the Marvel Crime series, it gets 3.5 stars.

I was a tad sceptical about the idea of this, however I very much enjoyed the more mystery and gritty side of a marvel adventure. Jessica may have super powers but she comes across as very human and not dissimilar to Lisa Jewell's 'normal' characters. Her apprentice Malcolm is also a great character and I could very much see this as a series!

Thanks PRH for the early copy! I very much enjoyed this quite different book from Lisa Jewell. Mixing some of my favourite genres (sci-fi & crime) this was always going to go down well for me! Two children come back home after summer claiming they are and feel perfect, what has happened to them? And what is happening to the kids of NYC? Jessica Jones is on the case and I very much enjoyed the more mystery and gritty side of a marvel adventure. I’m not actually a massive marvel fan but this one was way more up my street with a real blend of super-hero’s and crime. Jessica may have super powers but she comes across as very human and actually needs to use her human nature more than the powers she possesses. Her apprentice Malcolm is also a great character and I could very much see this as a series or film!
