I loved this fantastical retelling with intriguing and fascinating characters, plot and storyline. It was fast paced and kept me engaged the entire timeI

I’m an absolute sucker for an amnesia trope. This was a great Hades & Persephone retelling. I had to read the first 2 books in the series to read this ARC. Some other Greek retellings gave Persephone a childlike behavior which made getting through the books difficult. I appreciated that this series didn’t do that. It had a maturity level to it that I loved.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read the ARC.

Definitely check your triggers. This was such a great conclusion to this series. I loved this version of the Hades and Persephone story. It was gritty and dark. The writing was so good.

This final book in Hades and Persephone's story (though the series continues with new couples!) was mostly fantastic, even if the beginning felt a tad slow with the angst. But man, Rose & Rune know how to write a steamy slow burn! The love between Hades and Persephone is just epic, my absolute fave. Plus, I appreciated the heads-up about the heavier content in this one.

Seriously, if you like Hades/Persephone retellings, skip A Touch of Darkness and dive into this series instead – it's just better. And the spice level? Definitely up there! Overall, a really satisfying conclusion to their story, and I'm excited to see what the authors do next!

The Queen & The King is the third book in the Love and Fate series and cannot be read as a standalone.

This was much more angsty than the other books, as Hades fought hard to find Persephone and bring her back home.

Persephone went through a lot, and she showed her strength mentally and with her powers.

There was action, suspense, spice, and so much love.

Hades and Persephone retellings are probably my favorite to be retold. This one was good. There was something about this series that fell a little flat to me.. I can’t quite put my finger on what makes this series a 4 star for me and not a 5 star. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Overall I’m glad I read it! (Some stuff felt a bit unnecessary, like it was just plot filler but overall really liked it)

The Queen & The King by Jeanette Rose and Alexis Rune is a captivating Hades and Persephone retelling with a fresh twist. The chemistry between the leads is intense, and the world-building is rich and immersive. The writing style is engaging, balancing romance, mythology, and intrigue well. While some pacing issues slow the story in parts, the character development and tension keep you hooked. A solid 4 stars—dark, seductive, and a must-read for mythology lovers.

The Queen & The King by Alexis Rune and Jeanette Rose is an absolute gem in the world of Greek mythology retellings. If you’re a fan of mythology and romance, especially with a twist, this book is for you! The way the authors reimagine the relationship between Hades and Persephone is one of the best I’ve encountered, and it has quickly become one of my favorite takes on their story.

What really sets this retelling apart is how Persephone is portrayed—not as the typical timid or passive character that other books often make her out to be, but as a strong, bold, and confident "baddie" in her own right. She stands her ground and is unapologetically powerful. Hades, in contrast, is utterly captivated by her, obsessed with her in a way that feels intense and all-consuming, making their dynamic absolutely electric.

I adore Greek and Roman god retellings, and I’ve read a lot of them, but this one takes the crown as my absolute favorite. The blend of romance, mythology, and character development in The Queen & The King is incredible, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who loves these kinds of retellings.

This was bittersweet. Because this is the final of this series and while the second book, didn’t stand out, both Persephone and Hades grew up in this. They went from teenagers to pre-adults :P.
I love the way the author wrote about Hades’ pain. While it dominated a lot of the book, it was beautifully written.
And finally the love between Hades and Persephone became stronger and mature, with much less miscommunication.
I like how the story was nicely wrap, while giving me angsty responses.
Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC!

Demeter was really scary! She’s trying to cheat fate all because she just doesn’t like hades. Fighting against fate can only make it happen faster.

I didn’t like the amnesia and separation. It’s the last book and just felt so unnecessary!!

The book wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t great either. I am grateful to have been able to read this thanks to NetGalley!!

Persephone no longer has her memories, and it's up to Hades to help her remember who she is, but also who he is. What they are. And how they can save one another.

[This is a combined series review for books 1 to 3.]

It took me forever and a day to read this series-- and I was mistaken. I wish I'd read this sooner. I really enjoyed this one!

Also, I apologize that my review references "The Other Series" so heavily, but it colored my reading experience with *this* series, and made it better in the end.

Unfortunately, before I started this series, I tried reading a *very popular trad series with a similar premise* that I ended up disliking so badly that book 1 was a DNF, It completely colored my experience with these specific elements. I did not want to try anything else. However, this series turned out to be everything I had wanted That Other Series to be, and nothing like what had disliked.

By contrasts, in this series the characters read adult and mature in their behavior-- so important to me as a reader! (And I don't mean spice-wise, though that was satisfying.) The premise felt believable and engaging enough that I was willing to "go with it". (Ancient gods, but modern world, often a hard sell for reader me.) The plot was intriguing and the way the various relationships developed kept me reading all the way through the three books. As I said before, I really enjoyed it, all of them. So to the authors a heartfelt *thank you* for giving back to this reader a little something that an unsatisfying book had taken away. <3

This was a very good ending to their story! The action and the suspense was amazing. Watching them fall in love all over again was what was needed to make their relationship all the more special.

If I give it anything, it’s surely different than the first two books.

I was on the fence before, but I know now that this series is just not for me.

This book brought the Hades & Persephone trilogy to a satisfying close with a unique and captivating twist on the myth. I found the character development of Persephone to be much stronger in this installment, which made her journey more compelling. It’s definitely the steamiest book of the series, ramping up the intensity compared to the previous slow burns. The pace of the story felt quicker, but I think that’s because I was used to the slower build in the first two books. Overall, it was an entertaining and engaging conclusion that kept me eager to see how it would all wrap up.

Three books and it's the end of the series.

The first book I really enjoyed, the second book eh, this one was alright.

Book three picks up right where book two left off.

I will say Hades is super sweet and this is the man we have been waiting for to come out (first half of the book).

Eventually Persephone comes around and becomes the character that we were all hoping she would be.

Easy read, easy series.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my DRC.

Thank you NetGalley for the eArc copy of this book for an honest review!

'God of the Dead. King of the Underworld. The Unseen. The Renowned...The Glorified Babysitter'

I love when I have access to a complete series 😅 cause it means I don't have to wait for the next book to come out.

These books were enjoyable enough. It felt familiar, as there have recently been many similar experiences. But that train of thought aside, I think it still was an enjoyable read.

If you are a fan of Greek myths and enjoy a good retelling. Than this is a decent book to delve into.

3/5

I adore this series and I absolutely celebrate this duo. I am looking forward to more to come! This book broke my heart and then cradled me in its arms gently after. It hurt me and healed me at the same time.
