What an adorable read! I loved Golly's character almost as much as I loved Bea's. I was so frustrated with Gib though, but thankfully he had character growth in the end and I think that redeemed him!
This was such a fun vacation read and I think the overall plot was interesting and I loved the trope-based title! That's what pulled me in originally and I'm so glad I stayed.
Hopefully Golly got her couch back (with the original fabric!).
I would recommend this to anyone looking to escape to Greece or for a great beach read.

One Bed was fun reading in a beautiful setting! I wish I had a godmother like golly she seems so amazing!

I have never read an age gap trope before because it didn’t sit well with me. No offence. But gladly this turned up good.
This book Bea and Gib. Bea is an author struggling to write her next book and is in desperate need of an escape. Gib is a big-time businessman who needs to get away and hopes to relive his favourite childhood vacation. And they both ended up in Greece. Same city, same place. The two are forced to share a bed in the only cottage available to them and then it all starts.
All this sounded right. Forced proximity, the MC like Thor blah blah but unfortunately, the writing just didn’t do it for me. The story took ages to get going and I honestly felt no chemistry between Bea and Gib.
Overall, I wanted more from this book.

This was my first introduction to Joss Wood, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint.
The story was fun and interesting, and full of characters carrying their own weight. While Bea and Gib were our main characters, it was Golly that carried true main character energy, and it was so entertaining to read!
Having only met briefly when they were much younger and being forced not just to share a villa, but also to share a bed would've thrown anyone off. So, their initial woes in reaction to the situation at hand were completely believable and understandable.
What made this one-bed/forced-proximity dynamic so unique was how well both Bea and Gib's character development was executed. What I also appreciated was how Bea stood up for herself and chose not to settle for anything less than she deserved.

not my cup of tea. the cover and setting is beautiful though. due to me not vibing with this book i didn't finish. it

Joss Wood’s One Bed is a delightful, escapist romance that brings together opposites in a picturesque Greek island setting.
Bea, a shy and reserved author of a popular fantasy series, and Gib, an outgoing CEO representing authors, find themselves sharing more than just proximity - they end up sharing a bed in a cosy cottage.
The premise promises sparks and tension, and the story largely delivers on light-hearted charm and fun.
The setting is a standout feature of the book. Wood’s descriptions of the Greek island transport readers straight to a sun-soaked paradise, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. The quirky and eccentric godmother steals the show with her wild antics, adding a hilarious and unpredictable element to the story.
Bea and Gib’s dynamic her introverted “indoor cat energy” versus his extroverted “Golden Retriever” persona, creates an engaging opposites-attract storyline. However, while their chemistry is enjoyable, the story’s lack of significant stakes or conflict detracts from its emotional impact.
That said, One Bed is undeniably entertaining and an ideal quick read for those looking to escape into a light, summery romance.

A fun romance romp!
I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. The romance was cute and the MC"s enjoyable. It you like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, then this is a romance you will love.
The only part I didn't like was the godmother was a bit too quirky for my liking - but that is totally just my preference. She still had a bit of fun to the story overall.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for an arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

3.25⭐, 2.5🌶️
Im sad to say that I was looking forward to this book, becaseu I was ready to reminisce on my honeymoon in Santorini and I love a good forced proximity romance. But...it's hard to truly enjoy a romance when you dont enjoy one of the characvters, and a fan of Gibson I was not, I get he was just a hurt boy who never healed, nut I just was over him consistently expecting Bea to be the bigger and better person, and holding himself to trash expectations. Like my dude, GO TO THERAPY. Even the reunification at the end after the third act break up fell flat for me because I didn't think this man groveled at all for Bea (who I really enjoyed, I loved her character, her growth, and her strength.)
Additionally, I read this book as an audiobook and I just was not a fan of the choice of narrators. Kristen Atherton's voice just felt too old for these late 20/ early 30 year olds.

Thank you NetGalley and HaperCollins UK for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unpaid review.

It's always a bummer for me when I don't love a book. It's an even bigger bummer when I don't even really like it.
Unfortunately, that's the case with this book. I'm not even sure how to word my thoughts properly, but it felt immature. The plot, the characters (my goodness, the characters), and just overall. I've read YA books that had more mature characters in it.
I would not recommend this book.

I started this book two months before it was due to come out. I really wanted to love this but found I was really bored. I kept hoping it would get better. It took me way longer to read this than it should have. Sorry but this just wasn't for me.

I really love the cover and the setting of this book. Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I really wanted to like this book but it was really hard to connect with the characters and the story.

One Bed by Joss Wood is a charming romantic comedy that takes readers to the sun-drenched shores of Santorini. The story centres on Bea, a successful author of a Percy Jackson-style fantasy series, who is struggling with writer’s block. Seeking respite, she retreats to her godmother’s quaint cottage on a Greek island, only to discover that she will have to share the cosy space with none other than Gibson Caddell, her childhood friend—and a walking, talking red flag.
Gib is the CEO of a company that represents authors and handles various business dealings, his confidence and charisma seemingly in stark contrast to Bea’s more introverted, shy nature. Bea, with her “indoor cat energy,” finds herself increasingly drawn to Gib, the outgoing “Golden Retriever” who’s all outdoorsy charm. As they share a one-bed cottage, tension builds not just from the close quarters but from the undeniable chemistry between them.
Wood’s storytelling excels at capturing the opposites-attract dynamic between Bea and Gib, blending humour, heart, and irresistible tension. Bea’s gradual realisation that she’s falling for Gib is a delightful exploration of love blossoming in unexpected circumstances. The tropes of "one bed," "CEO romance," and "millionaire romance" are handled with a light, engaging touch, making this book a perfect escape for fans of sweet, feel-good love stories. With its perfect balance of sun, sand, and simmering romance, One Bed is a delightful read for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a whirlwind of emotion, humour, and undeniable attraction.

Awesome book that I inhaled in a couple of days! Loved the enemies to lovers trope. Fun characters that add hilariousness along the way. MMC that I wished was a real person. Super cute twist that makes you root for them even more. Great fun read with just the right amount of spice!

This is one of my favourite tropes, I felt excited and immersed in the story, it kept me hooked all the way through.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
One of my favorite tropes! But it wasn't as good as I was hoping. There were some parts I felt were too cringe or unbelievable.

Spicy, male female, 3rd person dual point of view, contemporary romance. I love the one bed trope and I love Greece as a setting. Fun, steamy, cozy read - I enjoyed it!

This was entertaining from start to finish. The chemistry was very very well done! My favorite part is that it takes place in Santorini 🌊. It really paints an accurate picture and made me miss Greece so much 😩. This read had very rom-com vibes but it fell a little short in the end. It kills me when we have the dramatic third act break up and then like 3 pages of HEA. Overall definitely a fun read, especially if you happen to be on vacation! Thank you @netga for the ARC.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5/5

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this arc! The characters had amazing growth, but the story lacked a decent plot so it did fall a little bit. The one bed trope was done well, but I hated how the plot was centered fully around a side character who wasn't that good. As it is a summer book, I think I would have liked it better if I had read it in summer not winter
Tropes:
- One Bed
- Forced Proximity

If you’re in the mood for a sweet, heartfelt romance set against the dreamy backdrop of Santorini, One Bed delivers. Bea, a shy and insecure author hiding behind a pseudonym, finds herself sharing a cozy one-bedroom cottage with Gibson—a workaholic CEO and her strikingly handsome childhood friend. Their chemistry crackles from the start, but both are weighed down by past traumas that make trusting and opening up a challenge.
Joss Wood weaves a beautiful story about second chances, self-discovery, and finding love in unexpected places. Bea and Gib’s emotional journey is laced with humor, angst, and plenty of tender moments. The stunning Greek setting provides a picturesque escape, while Bea’s quirky godmother adds delightful comic relief.
Though the romance moves a bit quickly at times, the character development shines, and the emotional depth keeps you hooked. This is a perfect lighthearted read for anyone craving sun-soaked romance and lovable, imperfect characters learning to heal together.
A charming, emotional read that reminds us love often begins when we least expect

Ultimately I ended up DNFing this one. I was not a huge fan of the writing style and really struggled with the main concept of the novel itself. I love a One Bed trope but I love it when there's a pre-conceived tension and relationship there. This felt icky to me. Two people who haven't seen each other since they were children (and have no relationship at all other than finding each other hot) are forced to share a cottage because of the FMC's godmother thinking it'll be funny/a set-up?
Based on the reviews I think a lot of people will love this book, but it wasn't for me.
