This cookbook features Italian recipes that can be made in about 30 minutes. The book is fun and bright, and I appreciate the tips throughout. Some of the recipes are out of my cooking comfort zone, but there are enough ideas that I am eager to try!

4.5/5 rounding up to 5 Stars! Thank you, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion for Big Mamma Italian Recipes in 30 Mins by Big Mamma!

WOWZA! I love me some cookbooks where recipes only take about 30 mins! I love the humor bits and quirkiness to this cookbook, the photos were an awesome touch too!

My whole family LOVE Italian food, especially when it's homemade pasta and pasta sauce. I love how much love is done in cooking these meals and they taste amazing too! My addiction has been all about Foccaia lately and the texture of it is just...*kiss gesture* FANTASTIC.

The desserts are going to be my next project to make, especially the chocolate pudding and Choco-lover crumble. Every once in a while I"ll find a good Pinterest recipe to follow, but I am so glad to have come across this book, it was more than fantastic and I love the extra puns. I will definitely need this cookbook in my kitchen!

Not your average Italian cookbook! Before reading this ARC, I'd never heard of the Big Mamma franchise, but I'll be in France later this year and I plan to check it out! I've learned that Big Mamma has locations in France, Spain, Germany, England...and of course, Italy...

This cookbook is playfully fun and features classic (and uncomplicated) recipes with spirited names like Panna Wintour, Jon Bon Chovy and Figgin' beautiful, all which can be prepared in 30 minutes or less.

Infused with vibrants pops of color, stunning photography, helpful cooking tips, and iconic Italian playlists, this cookbook celebrates and embodies La Dolce Vita with a uniquely modern twist!

Big Mamma Italian Recipes is a quirky fun cookbook. I love all the little humorous bits with punny recipe names and little doodles.

The cookbook includes Apretivo, Antipasti, Primi, Secondi, Controni, pizze, dolci, and back to basics. The recipes are easy to follow and have clear instructions. This cookbook is amazing for an authentic Italian recipes.

This is a fabulous cookbook. The recipes are lovely, delicious, easy to follow and the photographs are beautiful. What sets this apart is the humor. It’s a fun read. I read in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. It usually helps me get back to sleep. This one had me hungry, earmarking recipes to make and laughing out loud. I’ve made the pomodori gratinati, leeks grigliati, tagliatelle al fungi porcini, and the risotto all monzese thus far and yum! It was a rainy week and cooking is stress relief for me. Can’t wait to try many others. This would be a wonderful addition to any collection.

Growing up my father would frequently spend an entire day making an Italian recipe for dinner. Knowing that I have a short attention span and limited time to make dinners I usually shy away from cooking all but the most basic Italian recipes for my family. I was excited to see so many authentic recipes that can be made within 30 minutes and can't wait to try some of them.

Cooking and humor go hand and hand and this book does not lack either. I love Italia cusine . This book is filled with great recipes from Cheese Pops to Beignet and the Jets (looks yummy by the way) it will take you through how to make them all. There are tips and fun information throughout the book. The pictures are so inviting and appetizing I start saying I want to make this one and see another and change my mind. I did like the 10 Ultimate Italian Cheeses as I love any cheese. I do think this book is for the advanced cook as I think some of the recipes are not for the novice. The index is done very well also by category and by ingredient. I recommend this book for anyone who loves true Italian Cusine.

You'd think that there's only so many ways to write a cookbook, with ingredients, a little backstory and (hopefully) clear instructions, but I'm pleased to say Big Mamma is a little different.

The puns are insufferably cheesy at times (although to me this is a delightful selling point), with super approachable language that doesn't take things too seriously. Mediterranean cooking in general, particularly Italian, is done more with love than exacting measurements. I love that they even address this early on with QB (Quanto Basta, as much as required/to taste). I've always said that garlic in a recipe is measured with love, not in grams.

There's alternative suggestions in recipes allowing for a vegetarian diet, or even just taste preferences, which really appeals to me. I often alter recipes a little to suit my tastes and I can't tell you how useful it is to have those suggestions ready made and right there.

Excellent book all in all, for any and all levels of cook I think. The friendly and less serious approach makes it a joy to read and makes me want to explore the dishes I wouldn't usually cook.

Very fun cookbook packed with recipes that I found easy to execute and shop for. There were very few specialty ingredients that could potentially be hard to source, which I really appreciated. Directions were clear and easy to follow.

I downloaded this book a little over a week ago, I have tried 8 of the recipes. I have cookbooks here that I have owned for a decade and haven't tried more than one recipe. So let that be testament to the greatness of this book!!!

I love it. The colour and simplicity, the fact that so many of the recipes rely on standard kitchen ingredients. The simplicity of the recipes and the tastiness of the end results. This is a must have for any Italian food lover.

We don't have Big Mamma in Dublin, my campaign for them to open an Irish restaurant starts here. We think coleslaw is a suitable side to eat with Lasagne but don't judge us, if you build it, we will come in our droves.

From the simple pasta dishes to the lux desserts , this book has a huge variety of tasty recipes. I also loved the little tips on each recipe from Italian films and places to visit to putting chocolate in the freezer before using when making dessert ( a game change!). To the qr code you can scan to listen to correct Italian pronunciations and the beautifully shot photographs.Bravo bravo!!

Also, while I will absolutely be purchasing a copy of this book upon publication, this book works so well as an ebook, a rare feat for a cookbook! Handy to have it readily available on my phone when shopping and double checking measurements.

This is a book I will return to over and over again.

5 star.

The book is colorful and lively. Directions were easy to understand and enjoyed the information provided about Italy.
This wouldn't be a cook book I would use; just because of my tastes and no reflection on the authors.

Big Mamma is an interesting cooking book advertised for people in need of a quick and delicious (and sometimes quite fancy) recipe to prepare in a short amount of time. It has a catchy cover, and very funky pictures of the various chefs inside. What I liked about it is that for every recipe there is a picture of the finished product. Personal pet peeve of mine is when a cookbook like this one does not show pictures for every dish but adds nonsense ones about.. I don't know. Flowers. Unless you are going to cook with them, I prefer seeing food than aesthetically pleasing but pointless images! Anyway. I like that there are recipes from all over Italy: sometimes cookbooks in English tend to focus on the cuisine of the South, and although the food is delicious, Italy is not just Napoli! The recipes are divided per serving order, starting from the aperitivi and ending with the dolci, with some useful basics recipes and a handy appendix. At the bottom of every recipe page they add little anecdotes (although they sound written by Americans or for an American audience in my Italian opinion. Still, interesting!). So, all in all a good fun cooking book!
