A fun, spicy, enemies to lovers college rockstar romance perfect for fans of authors like Elle Kennedy! The banter was great, the chemistry was on fire. This was an easy and very entertaining read by a new to me author. Looking forward to more from Heather Garvin! Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing the ARC.
I will start off by saying that I thought this book was well written and I think the plot progressed in a way that made sense, but Margot and Jackson as characters annoyed me so much.
I get that they're 18, and just starting college. That alone lends itself to a certain amount of immaturity. But Jackson came across as almost a caricature of the elitist musician with his "superior" music tastes and Margot was just as uptight as Jackson liked to paint her. It felt hard for me to connect with these two characters. Maybe it's because I am so far removed from 18 that it's hard for me to think back to what it was like then. Or maybe because I remember college being not as dramatic as all of this. But I have read other books with younger characters that I have perfectly resonated with and this just wasn't it for me.
If you want a fun book with the hot guitarist and the girl next door that leans into their age and maturity heavily, then you'll probably enjoy this book. Like I said, I thought the writing and the plot were good. But this was not the book for me.

Well, color me shocked. I didn’t think I liked the rockstar romance trope, but apparently, I was very, VERY wrong.
Jackson Phillips may come off as a sarcastic, uncaring, rockstar playboy, but deep down, he’s a loyal, loving, tender-hearted teddy bear. And he loves to play the guitar—like, a lot. All Jackson wants is to be in a band and go on tour. However, Jackson’s dad thinks he’d be throwing his life away and vehemently disapproves of Jackson’s musical dreams. Jackson is begrudgingly attending his first semester at the University of South Florida with his best friend, Matt. But Jackson doesn’t have time for college distractions. American Thieves, one of his favorite indie bands, is looking for a new guitarist. All he’s got to do is smash the audition, become American Thieves’ new guitarist, drop out of school, and go on tour. Dad’s approval be damned.
Margot Reid loves to write (have you read her blog?). Despite her parents' disappointment, she has decided to major in journalism and attend college hundreds of miles from home. Margot desperately wants to be a reporter and has everything planned out. Tackling college in South Florida with her best friend, Rae, is only step one. Step two is acing all her classes and proving to her parents that journalism isn’t a joke. It should be easy, right? It would be if the guy across the hall would stop playing the guitar and let her sleep!
Margot and Jackson meet under the worst circumstances. The night before their first day of college classes, Jackson is practicing nonstop for his audition, and unlike Margot, he is utterly unconcerned that classes start at 8 a.m. Sleep-deprived and angry, Margot knocks on Jackson's door—at 2 a.m.— to get him to stop playing, and Jackson refuses. Who does this guy think he is? But Jackson can’t stop. All his hopes and dreams, his whole life, depend on this audition.
First impressions are hard to overcome; Margot thinks Jackson is the most entitled and inconsiderate person she's ever met. Jackson thinks Margot hates him, and he gets a kick out of irritating her. Two people have never disliked each other more. He calls her Red; she hates it. She thinks his “alternative music” is noise; he thinks she’s “predictable”. But Jackson and Margot are more alike than they could ever imagine. When their best friends start dating, they are forced to spend time together despite their mutual loathing. Their back-and-forth bickering becomes second nature (and kinda fun), and it turns out that there is a very thin line between love and hate. Margot and Jackson walk that razor’s edge until they can’t deny their attraction anymore. And once they’ve let go of their inhibitions, it’s not long before strong feelings creep in and take over.
This book ticked all the boxes for me. A+ music references (except for briefly hating on Fleetwood Mac; I mean, come on, who can hate on Stevie), a sexy MMC in a band (I will swoon for a guitar player any day), a strong FMC with a type A personality (someone I can personally identify with), and flirty banter for days. Yes, yes, yes, and yes! The only thing I found slightly unbelievable is how confident Jackson is (in all areas). My first year of college would have been a wholly different experience if the boys in my class had 1/57th as much confidence as Jackson. But that aside, Holy hell, Margot and Jackson are made for each other. Their quips are sublime; you can cut the tension with a knife, and when they finally get together...It’s. So. Good.
The songs that Margot & Jackson talk about and share throughout the book are just—Chef’s Kiss. I don’t know if it was intentional (or if I’m just an elder millennial who finds it easier to speak through song lyrics), but the story is enhanced 10-fold by the lyrics of the songs mentioned. If you aren’t familiar with any of the music in the book (and even if you are), I highly recommend listening to the songs while you are reading. You can thank me later.
Secrets I have held in my heart
Are harder to hide than I thought
Maybe I just wanna be yours
I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours

This was such a great read! The first chapter alone had me hooked! I loved the dual POVs and banter between the MCs. Their chemistry plus the spice was absolutely electric! Even the Spotify playlist was amazing! Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys, and Fleetwood Mac 🙌🏼 Heather knew what she was doing!! I also loved the relationship between the MCs and their best friends. The whole friends turned into family reminded me of best friends and that tugged at my heartstrings a little bit. The ending was perfect for me even with the cliffhanger!
Overall- I was super excited to find out the next book comes out later this year because I need more of Margot & Jackson!! If you enjoy a good slow burn enemies to lovers college romance, #JustDontCallMeYours is available now on KU 💙 Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I received an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.
Margot and Jackson are just starting college, their dorm rooms are next to one another, and unfortunately they start the year on the wrong foot because of one bad first meeting, and can’t stand each other. When their respective roommates begin to date, they have no choice but to spend more time together (they kinda have the choice though, they just like annoying each other too much).
This was a pretty fun book, very light and quick to read. I did enjoy it, however I felt like the beginning of the story wasn’t very strong - the reason they disliked each other is really stupid. It completely blew out of proportion from day 1 for no reason, instead of being dealt with like adults.
Besides that one point I did really liked the book, but that first impression led the first half of the book and it took them a long time to overcome something that felt pretty meaningless to me and I wish didn’t drag on for so long. I did like the second half a lot better however, as it moved in from that one annoying point and into a much stronger story. I will be looking forward to book 2 and the rest of their story.
I would give the book a 3.5 stars, but rounding down just because I always find it frustrating when enemies to lovers is really just « unfriendly for no real reason to lovers ».
Ps - I am once again begging author to stop putting « open the condom package with him/her teeth » in a sex scene. Just don’t do that, it’s not safe.

Jackson and Margot are both beginning their first year in college and moving in with their closest friends. They find themselves forced to spend more time together after their best friends start dating. Things begin to get romantic as they go along, but Margot is reluctant to fall in love with a rock star—especially one who might be leaving out soon.
This book ends on a little bit of a cliffhanger. For the time being, I'd nearly call it happy, but I can't wait to read the next book to see Jackson and Margot's whole happily ever after. From the first chapter to the very last line, I loved it. To be honest, this book is among my best reads of the year thus far.
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing Co-Op for the opportunity to review this book.

This book blew me away. I loved the banter between our two main characters. Their chemistry was so so good. I felt every single thing the characters were feeling and I was so dialed into this book. I was listening to the playlist on Spotify while reading the book, this enhanced my reading experience so much. I would be reading a song would come on, and then they would mention the song in the book, and it felt like I was right there with the characters. Jackson has this swagger about him that drips off the page. I’m infatuated with him. This is a perfect college romance story that’s so spicy and so amazing. The found family between the group of friends and little peeks at the college life were my favorite, but also just seeing how they navigated this relationship and followed their dreams was something so spectacular. This is my first Heather Garvin, but I can tell you that it will not be my last. I am so excited to read her entire list because her writing is phenomenal. PLEASE GO READ THIS RIGHT NOW!

This ARC read left me laughing and wanting more.
Margot and Rae are best friends and head out of state for college. Jackson and Matt are best friends and end up living across the hall from the girls. Margot is immediately annoyed by Jackson who plays ridiculous music until all hours of the night. They meet when Margot goes across the hall to tell him to stop playing his music.
Absolute opposites, close proximity, enemies to lovers, college romance.
He wants to be in a band, she wants to write.
“He’s all Arctic Monkeys. She’s all Taylor Swift.”

Things I liked: Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity (College Dorm Neighbors), College Romance, Rock n Roll, Witty Banter, Taylor Swift & Arctic Monkeys references.
Things I didn't like: The slow burn was a bit too slow, the unannounced time jumps (a few weeks here, a month there).
Overall: Jackson was just the right type of annoying. I was a little worried at first that this book was going to give me the "annoying main character" ick, but I ended up loving him. The chemistry between Margot and Jackson from the beginning was perfect, to watch them go from despising each other, to secretly wondering why they were reacting in ways they weren't ready for, to love was A+. I'm excited to read the second book, and I would recommend this book to friends and bookish followers.

I absolutely loved this arc! The banter was lighthearted and had me kicking my feet! JACKSON😍😍😍😍😍 was amazing! There were a few grammatical errors, but overall love the story and cannot wait for the next book!

This was a great read. Really enjoyable from beginning to end. I loved Margot and Jackson’s story and I’m excited for more stories Heather writes aswell as looking forward to reading her backlog.

Fantastically written, with great characters whose banter is electrifying! It was very well paced, bar the ending which was a little abrupt, Otherwise a perfect modern day rom-com

3.5
Not the genre I usually go for but I was lowkey enjoying it. Never thought I'd be saying that about an enemies to lovers!

By the end of chapter one I was hooked, by the end of chapter three I knew I wasn’t doing anything else today but finishing this book I really couldn’t put it down and finished it in less than 3 hours.
It had me feeling all of the feelings, the spice level isn’t too much and the relationship didn’t feel rushed or forced. I loved the fact we had the POV’s from both love interests, Margot and Jackson, and I loved their chemistry, humour and hostility towards each other.
This book is so well written that by the end of it I felt like I knew the characters in real life and I loved every single one of them.
I really loved the playlist at the start of the book, and not just because I am a massive Swiftie.
The only negative thing I have to say is that it ended because I could have quite happily read another 300 pages and as soon as I finished I could of quite easily picked it up and read it again.
*chefs kiss* 🤌🏼

I was curious about this book and it turned out to be an okay read. I felt the enemies to lovers connection was done well but it didn’t feel like the connection was all that strong. There seemed to be more of a lust dynamic between them. He wanted to keep everyone away from her but I wouldn’t say that equates to love. It was sort of predictable and nothing made the characters stand out but I thought it was a fun book. 3.5 stars
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

I really liked "Make Your Move' from the same author, so I was super excited to read her next work!
While I definitely enjoyed reading "Just Don't Call Me Yours," I felt like it was a little unbalanced at times. The characters were fun, although very surface-level. The plot was predictable, but I knew what I was getting myself into. And although I enjoyed the spicier scenes, I fear that the protagonists didn''t like each other as much as they were horny for each other.
I liked it, and I lowkey want to know what happens next... But I don't really see myself grabbing book 2, to be completely honest.

Super cute! Margot and Jackson are just what I needed to get out of my reading funk. I recommend for lovers of Taylor swift, slow burn, enemies to lovers, spice, and all around cuteness!

Just Don't Call Me Yours by Heather Garvin was a cute and extremely well written romance!
Heather Garvin has constructed some fantastic characters who I absolutely adored.
Margot and Jackson has such a strong a compelling chemistry.
Their banter was fun and exciting.
And Garvin’s writing style was so exciting. She immediately pulled me in and had me flipping the pages.
Thank You NetGalley and Victory Editing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

What even was that? I loved this book so incredibly much. I loved it from the very first chapter to the very last word. I felt like I, personally, was falling in love. This book truly is one of my favorite reads of the year so far.
This book was so special. The banter and tension was top notch. It had me smiling and feeling giddy. It had me giggling and blushing. And it had me tearing up because the ending was *chefs kiss*.
I don’t really want to say too much about it because it’s such a fun book to just fully experience. It’s a romcom but it’s written so well that you get fully sucked in. It has short chapters so the pace helps you never want to put the book down.
If you want to read about two young college kids going from the worst first impression to falling head over heels, this is for you. It has YA vibes but there’s definitely some spice! I honestly loved this book so so so much, just in case you didn’t believe me the first few times I said it. I can’t wait to read every book this author writes! 🩷 and the ‘to be continued…’, yes please!! I can’t wait!!

I absolutely adored this book and these characters from the very first page. Margot and Jackson were the very best and most tension filled enemies to lovers ever! They were so in tune with each other from the beginning and the secret care and softness they had for each other was so sweet and swoony. The spice was GOOD! This is a must read if you like enemies to lovers, secret hookups, and musician MMC’s.
Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing Co-op for the arc!
