Such a lovely book! Who could fail to fall in love with a blind cat called Homer?
In part if the book the author was living on New York when the twin towers were hit. I had Beverly until now considered what happened to the animals left in appartements in the no go zone..
Well written, warm and entertaining
I cannot find words to say anything bad about this book. I absolutely loved this story about Homer, his owner Gwen, and other two cat siblings. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy but also horrified at the chapter about 9/11. I never even thought about the people who had pets stuck in their homes when the twin towers came down. Awful.
I am a huge animal lover. I loved this book. I found it heartbreaking, funny and life-affirming all at once as the author navigates life and recognises the impact her gorgeous, resilient cat has on her. The author evokes so much from her writing; we can all learn from Homer.'s approach to life!
I had a little mog for more than twenty years, we called her Mogdo, the Mogdalorian, and she left us two years ago. I used to write of her adventures and the things she got up to in life, and I recognised in this book, the same love that I have for my little Mogdo. This was beautfiully written and a pleasure to read, and certainly one for all cat lovers out there.
Got a tear in my eye, going to sign off here, this was a wonderful book.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the free copy in return for an honest review, no other inducements have been made, my words are my own.
