It has been utter joy to have Amy join me (by way of her audiobook!) as I have gone about the mundanity of my everyday life over the last few weeks - this lady has taken the mundanity away and had me at times laughing out loud, at times nodding in agreement, and at times touching my heart with empathy as she shares her personal story.

`This is an no-holes barred account of motherhood, marriage and life in all its complexities for a woman having lived through her first few turbulent decades, and 'candid' is the word that springs to mind - as such it is probably not a read / listen for those who are easily offended, but for the rest of us, Amy's honesty is refreshing, entertaining and thoroughly authentic. I was delighted that this audiobook is narrated by the author herself - I really don't think anyone else could it justice, I thoroughly applaud her for this wonderful piece of work, that absolutely adds something to this genre.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity its to review this book ion exchange for an advance copy.

In her uproarious and deeply relatable memoir, Amy Gerard, known for her unfiltered portrayal of life's chaos on Instagram and as host of the Beyond the Likes podcast, boldly challenges the idyllic images of motherhood and existence pervasive on social media.

With her husband and three pint-sized dynamos in tow, Amy vividly depicts the whirlwind of her daily life—a rollercoaster ride where seatbelts are non-negotiable. Yet, amidst the chaos, she uncovers the freeing truth that life rarely adheres to our idealized expectations, encouraging us to embrace its messy, authentic, and uproarious nature.

From the challenges of childbirth and the trials of parenthood to the intricacies of marriage and the nuances of friendship, Amy exposes the stark contrast between her once lofty dreams and the wonderfully chaotic reality of her life.

This memoir is a must-read for mothers and anyone who has compared their own experiences to carefully curated social media posts. Bursting with humor and wisdom, it serves as a heartfelt reminder to pause, relish the moment, and celebrate life's imperfect beauty.

As I immersed myself in its pages, I found myself nodding in agreement, feeling as though Amy's words illuminated my own journey through life's tumult. While my path may differ—residing in Clapham South without children—I discovered a wealth of invaluable insights that deeply resonated with me.

Though certain chapters, particularly those delving into career and friendships, struck a profound chord, I am certain that this book will continue to leave a lasting impact on my life for years to come.

For anyone navigating life's twists and turns and questioning the universality of their experiences, this book is a perfect fit. With its candid and relatable storytelling, it offers solace, laughter, and a resounding recommendation from me. Trust me, you won't regret immersing yourself in Amy's delightful narrative—I wholeheartedly endorse it.

I randomly requested this as sometimes you get lucky and find an amazing book and unfortunately I didn't love this one. I liked that the author narrated it and she was easy to listen to. Also I didn't know much about the author to begin with anyway so unfortunately just wasn't for me. I did give it 2.5 stars but rounded up to 3.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this audio arc
