Thank you NetGalley & the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I agree with the other reviews that point out that the title of the book is misleading. Flo and Jamie weren't enemies at all. They just didn't like each other for a while because of a misunderstanding. I liked the mental health representation but Flo and Jamie felt quite childish because of their behaviour to each other. I did like Flo's family and how close they were and the descriptions of the island they were holidaying on.

This review is late as I was very unwell and thing or got my net galley login HOWEVER I was pleasantly suprised by this book and recommended everyone picks it up.

This was a cute romance however I would have preferred more on the enemies side.
Thank you for the review copy.

A witty, fun, and laugh-out-loud novel, Enemies to Lovers follows Flo and Jamie as they navigate miscommunication, tension, and family drama. Their journey, filled with clashes and emotional depth, makes for a truly compelling read.
Laura Williams proves herself to be the queen of banter, wit, and humor, which is what kept me hooked throughout. Her writing style felt so relatable, almost mirroring my own internal monologue, which made it easy to fully immerse myself in the story.
The characters each brought their own unique charm, and I especially connected with Kate, Flo, and Jamie.
One of the things I loved most was that I wasn’t counting down the pages—this was a book I just kept reading and reading.
If I had one critique, it would be that I’d have loved more spice and action a little earlier on. That said, the slow burn was enjoyable in its own way, and sometimes you just need that kind of build-up.
Overall, this was a fantastic read, and I’ll definitely be looking out for more from Laura Williams. A solid 4 stars from me!

Unfortunately I’m not the right audience for this book.
The first half was very repetitive and I wasn’t on Flo’s side at all - in my opinion she was mad at him for no reason, it was a passing flirtation that lasted 3 days, where “he” apologised for leading her on and wanted to leave it. Totally fair.
We then have to listen to her moan and groan about him being handsome/successful and sl*t-shame him.
The last 40% was better paced for me and more interesting, I liked the twist but did clock it.
I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope but it was a pleasant enough read.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

A real great read for a bit of armchair escapism to the sun. I loved the family dynamic in this story and the sibling rivalry felt very real and relatable. It too some serious issues such as mental health and loss and dealt with them respectfully, interwoven in the story. There were some laugh out loud moments, drama and of course a beautiful sunshine setting. A fabulous read.

I loved this book! (Probably should have read it back in the summer, but it was great to read about summer in the colder months!) Great level of rom and also of com, 4 stars.

3.5 stars
Set in Greece this a romance between Flo and Jamie.
Although the book is called 'enemies to lovers’ I didn’t really feel like they were true enemies and it lacked that fiery tension I look for with an enemies to lovers romance trope.
Still an enjoyable summer fast paced read.

(Apologies for the short reviews, I've not been well and hope to revisit these titles soon)
Laura Jane Williams writes indulgently fun romcoms without the painfully sexist tropes and she will always be my not-guilty pleasure. Amazing characters, sweet romance, fun storylines and always so many smiles.

Fantastic easy going book perfect for the beach. Very engaging storyline and pics the characters, read in one sitting it was perfect.

A perfect easy-summer read for a holiday or beach read!
A predictable storyline following Flo and Jamie's journey from "enemies" to "lovers". Although it was predictable, I enjoyed following the characters and the dynamics between the friends, family and mishaps along the way.

This one has been on my list for FAR TOO LONG and even though I think it’s a perfect summery beach read, it was nice to escape the cold December chill and transport myself to Greece.
This is the story of Flo Greenberg, serial overachiever who, after suffering from a mental breakdown and sectioned during her PhD, accompanies her family on holiday to Greece. Cue sensory descriptions of the warm sea, the breeze and the author writes “a real-life Spotify playlist of relaxation noises”.
As the title suggests, it relies heavily on the enemies to lovers trope but chemistry bubbles away not only between Flo and Jamie (the enemy who’s infiltrated her family) but Adonis, the Greek masseuse who wants to show Flo more than the Aegean Sea. The appearance of Adonis and the plinkyplonky music relaxes Flo who has knots in her which have been there from birth!
It was a very relatable read and parts of it really moved me such is the fragility of mental health - one day you are fine and the next you totally unravel and you’re unable to move.
Thank you to @laurajaneauthor @penguinukbooks @netgalley for the very entertaining read.

Enemies to Lovers is one of my favourite tropes, the title absolutely grabbed my attention. If I am honest there wasn't enough animosity between the characters for me to completely buy into the enemies part of the troupe.
The family vibes were the best part of the book for me
The perfect summer beach read book

An excellent book to read if you want to feel summer, armchair travel to Greece and enjoyed a well plotted and witty enemy to lovers romance
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

A big fan of Laura’s books and this one was great fun! Love an enemies to lovers storyline. The characters were great and I would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this story. You could feel the tension between Flo and Jamie throughout the book. All characters were likeable and I like that mental health wasn’t a taboo subject. If work wasn’t an issue I’d have read this in one sitting.

I loved this, it was a nice fluffy fun read, perfect as a palette cleanser, I highly recommend to anyone and everyone go and read this

Enemies To Lovers - well, the title says it all:
that -and only that- is exactly what you get in this easy read rom-com. Lothario skipper Jamie and driven academic Florence have known each other all their lives and now in their mid-twenties discover their mutual attraction while on a family holiday on a beautiful Greek island. Perfect for idling away a few hours.

'Enemies to Lovers' by Laura Jane Williams is a delightful blend of humor and romance that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
Flo Greenberg is an overachiever in need of a break, and her planned Greek holiday quickly turns into a whirlwind of unexpected interactions with her brother's best friend, Jamie. Their dynamic is a mix of tension and banter, but the enemies-to-lovers trope feels flimsy at best. While there are moments of chemistry, their relationship lacks the depth of feeling needed to fully convey the heat and even love that one might expect from this setup.
The witty dialogue and stunning Greek backdrop certainly provide charm, but I found myself wishing for more exploration of their past and emotions to understand the underlying tensions and motivations better.
TL;DR: A fun and engaging enemies-to-lovers story with witty banter and a beautiful setting, but the shallow exploration of their animosity and connection left me wanting more depth and genuine emotion. Perfect for light escapism, but not as impactful as it could have been!

3.5* for this easy read rom-com, which was another enjoyable holiday kindle book for me. Flo and Jamie’s will they won’t they had the outcome obvious from the beginning, but the family banter, holiday setting and self discovery made for an enjoyable, though predictable read.
