This is written from a multiple point of view each chapter being headed by the relevant character. The intro explains a real incident in Shari’s life which went on to inspire part of the book and how it's woven in soon emerges. Val has lost her most treasured rings on a journey, the first since she lost her husband. Alice works double shifts and hates her husband since he did something terrible a few years ago that cost them everything- most of all her relationship with their son. Rory, the son, has also found himself in a sticky situation estranged from his wife whom he was really hoping to get back together with. Sophie has been proposed to but feels it’s not quite the right time in her life just yet. This tells of their stories over the days of one long weekend.
It is truly a delight and honour to read Shari’s books, there is just something very special about them. A few pages in and I'm already invested in the plot and the characters. Shari is one of those authors I don't have to read the blurb/promo about, I know I'm going to enjoy it whatever it's about and so far (please don’t change your magic formula!) I have been on an emotional rollercoaster each and every time, but left with a warm hearted feeling to restore my faith in human nature. I loved Val and her friends and so felt for Alice and Rory. I think there’s something in this that will resonate with most people one way or another. A truly stunning read I more than thoroughly enjoyed.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

She’s done it again. Another fantastic book by Shari Low, she never fails to impress. All the characters gel together so well. Such an endearing and heartfelt story, my entire weekend was spent just reading this. Absolutely beautiful writing and creative imagination. I understand Shari writes a lot from her own experiences and they make great reading. Don’t ever stop writing Shari, you are amazing!

I love Shari Low and One Long Weekend was no exception. Shari weaves a tale following four people over the course of a weekend connected by events that eventually lead to some hope for our four characters. Of Val, Sophie, Alice, and Rory I think I gravitated towards Val the most for her heartbreak and hope.
This was an easy read but tugged at your heart and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to wile away a few days thoroughly transported with their emotional buttons pushed. I also enjoyed the dialogue and balance of humor keeping things lighter, so don’t worry about getting too deep emotionally if that’s not your style.

Shari Low is an auto-read author for me; so I was thrilled to have been kindly provided with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
There is something addictive in Sharis writing, and One Long Weekend does not disappoint. Shari flawlessly weaves together the characters stories, in an enchanting way. I truly felt as though I lived and experienced Val's heartbreak, and all the journeys the characters went on. Sharis characters are always well developed, and as always I loved the Glasgow setting. Another must read novel, perfect for on the plane or by the pool.

I was really excited to get this one, but honestly, it just fell a bit flat for me. It was really cute, but it wasn’t unique at all. I did like it, it just fell flat.

This novel is a tear jearker! It brings together a group of people, each affected by trauma. It's heart warming but also sad! A lovely read overall.

Have tissues at the ready, like Val I need some waterproof mascara!
As always it was an absolute delight being in Shari’s world especially with Val my absolute favourite character.
This book is so full of emotion but so wonderful and heartwarming.
Sophie, Val and Alice are all such strong women and I loved being on an adventure with them three women with three very different paths and experiences. Rory was such a contrast but also a breathe of fresh air.
Val has lost her most treasured possessions and her nieces are determined to help her find them.
An absolute rollercoaster of a book but worth it!

What can I say! I’ve read all of Shari lows books now and she’s one of my favourite authors. I know when I start I’m not going to be able to put it down! The characters are all relatable and you are either laughing out loud or sobbing! Sharis books just scoop you up and make you feel all cosy and warm! Snug as a bug! Highly recommend reading! Roll on the next adventures of Val and the clan! Thanks Shari !

The real truth is that each of us is struggling with battles that a passerby would not know. Collectively, we are all struggling internally with more than meets the eye. Val, Sophie, Alice, and Rory are four individuals with their own broken hearts, grief and heavy emotions from trauma. One Long Weekend is a beautiful story told from their perspectives on the same weekend, poignantly demonstrating through coincidences big and small that we are all connected. The lingering question throughout each chapter remains, can they heal their broken hearts? A moving story where the chain of related events brings a chance of hope to each of the four individuals over the course of one long weekend. Take some time and settle down for one magnificently cathartic read!
