I loved this book! Having read the first book in the series it was nice to be back with Charlie to see what chaos was going on this time and it's safe to say that she did not disappoint! It was lovely to see some familiar faces back such as Jess and the ever loyal Francis who I just adore! As well as the Earl and Anna our psychic to help in their own ways.

I loved the storyline and the fact that Charlie always thought that there was more to it than she was being told. Turns out that she was right as always! Although she had plenty of suspects to look at, they were dwindling as someone was out for murder!

Alongside the main drama of Matteo's blackmail / murder kitchen as it seemed! Charlie also had some personal drama in the form of a witches wife that she upset and was out to seek Charlie's blood! Honestly, it did not stop!

The book flowed beautifully and is really well written, I love that the more I read the more I like our characters, and the ending of this one was just brilliant, we had the big reveal - then a twist and then have been left with a cliffhanger about Charlie's personal life so I do hope it's not too long until we get the next instalment!

A Curious Offer..
The second outing in the Old Forge Cafe Mysteries and the appearance of a famous television chef sets in motion a catalogue of disturbing events. Unbeknownst to Charlie, there is way more behind the overtly generous offer Matteo makes for her services. An enjoyable and entertaining sequel to the first in the series with a well imagined and entirely credible backdrop, a plot populated with a deftly drawn cast and a solid mystery at its heart.

Chefs are one thing, but celebrity chefs are something else entirely. Obviously, it's ALL about them...

So when Matteo McLeish, start of TV's Nonna's Kitchen, turns up and offers Charlie Hunter place on his kitchen team for the opera festival, she thinks he rates her culinary skills. But it's her investigative expertise he's after, because he's being blackmailed.

It doesn't take long for it all to become way more than that, though...

Excellent
