Well while the first book in this series (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5586372222#) acted like a gate-way drug for me to not only this but the main franchise, this first sequel wasn't nearly as great-seeming. Once again it's a full-on escapade with copious animal-based puns, where we start with literally no chance of even guessing what crime the heroes are there to solve – in this instance, a spread of thefts at a tropical resort, and oddly enough something about dodgy-tasting honey. But this time the quality didn't seem there as strongly. It's a lot more adult-proof – the puns-for-adults were certainly absent (perhaps apart from one darker beat about pets and farms), and the whole was a lot less logical, taking us here to there in quite scattershot fashion. It had a lot more in common with the generic, anything-will-do, young comic, which surprised me based on what I've seen of this author's recent efforts. I mean, it's not bad, and is probably fine for a quick disposable read for the target audience, but I had enthused about two books recently that were a lot better and bankable than that. And I'm certainly not about to start raving over this one...

God, this series and its spin offs continue to just make me laugh with all its jokes! So many twists and turns and dad jokes, paired with the amazing illustration and brilliant plot and the new Agents of SUIT is gonna be a proper hit in ALL the classrooms! My kids will be so jealous that I’ve read this!

My class absolutely love this series and eagerly await the arrival of the latest book. Set out as a brightly coloured, graphic novel, there is much here to entice even the most reluctant reader. This latest adventure begins with the 'Buffaloner' and sees the bumbling badgers sent away to solve the mystery around the mysterious thefts. As an adult, I found myself chuckling and groaning with equal measure at the puns which the children absolutely love.

The latest edition to the world of the InvestiGATORS is as witty, fast paced and hilarious as ever. I was introduced to the series by a colleague and have loved each book in the series and this one is no different. It was great to see Marsha and Bongo, Team B at S.U.I.T (Special Undercover Investigation Teams) get their own story and see their characters develop.
While it is easy to imagine that a comic book series would take children away from “proper” books, I strongly disagree. I’ve always seen them as a great gateway into reading and this comic book is no exception; it is so easy to read that even slow and reluctant readers will find it hard not to finish. Very satisfying for both parent and child! Also, just because it’s a comic does not mean it can’t be sophisticated; the authors do not shy away from including complex words, phrases and concepts in his story and his use of word play throughout is just hilarious. There is plenty in there for young and older readers to get their teeth into and even if a younger reader does not pick up on some of the jokes, it won’t diminish the enjoyment at all. It just means it will be even more enjoyable next time they read it!
A thoroughly enjoyable and highly entertaining read with dynamic illustrations which doesn’t take itself too seriously. I eagerly anticipate the next instalment.
