Devious games. Obsessions. And a campus king determined to break me.The Sacred Sons are University royalty, And the most vicious pricks on campus. They’re as beautiful as they are cruel. And him. He’s their leader. Their twisted king, who’s chosen to make me his personal property. Roman Rush. The more I fight him, the more he tightens his grip. I want to be left alone, to disappear into the shadows. But when my best friend goes missing, I’m pulled into a world full of dark secrets—a world where Roman reigns supreme. I need his help, but around here, nothing comes for free. And the price Roman is demanding? It’s me, body and soul. This is a dark academia college romance, and contains themes that may be triggering to some readers. Please check my site for more detailed content warnings. This is the first book in a four-book series, following the same couple, and does end on a cliffhanger.

Need to finish this series immediately. Will recommend to others.

Tell Me You Like It by Evelyn Austin is the First book in the Legacy of Lies Series. This starts the story of Lux and Roman. Lux has some past trauma that she is dealing with. Lux and her friend Bree happen upon a secret society at college. This has put Lux in the cross hairs of Roman Rush who is the leader of the Sacred Crown. This was an exciting dark read and can't wait for the next installment.

Oh my goodness! Angst, banter, and tension oh my! Lux is a girl who wanted a fresh start after some trauma in her life and not the best upbringing. She goes off to school at ExU thinking she will get to have a somewhat normal experience and “blend in” where she can do anything but that when she’s picked by none other than Roman Rush (moody and egotistical) at a party she got a special invite to. Get ready for a roller coaster ride through this intense book. Keep in mind this is a bit of a darker romance. Check trigger warnings. Roman and Lux’s story will pan out over four stories which I didn’t know and I DESPISE cliffhangers but boy oh boy was I unable to put this down.

A well written darker romance that was a thrill ride to read. Loved the way the story came together and all the characters in it. Well done and easy to enjoy.

Tell Me You Like It is a dark college romance, where the FMC, Lux, stumbles into a secret society, and becomes tangled up with the “King of Campus”, Roman. While trying to navigate through his unwanted attention, her best friend goes missing, and she needs his help to find her.

This was such a good book!! From the secrets and mysteries, to the MCs trying to fight their attraction to each other, I was kept HOOKED! Especially when there are hints that Roman has his sights set on Lux because of something she’s done to his family, and it’s more of a chance at getting revenge for him, until he starts feeling more. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait for book 2 to come out. I need to know what happens!

This ARC definitely surprised me. At first it seemed like your typical girl meets guy, enemies to lovers, girl embracing her trauma story. But then bang! We get dual pov from Lux and Roman, learn that there is more to the story than meets the eye, and have a disappearance which may or may not be related 🤯 I really enjoyed this arc novella and can't wait to read the second in the series.

Thank you Evelyn Austin and Netgalley for allowing me to get my hands on this early!

Uh. I didn’t want this book to end! I didn’t like it ending on a cliffhanger! I need to know what happens next! Tell Me You Liked It, had me in a chokehold! I couldn’t put the book down and wanted to find out what was going to happen.

Lux is a strong-willed girl with some trauma. She is attending college with her best friend Bree. They were invited to a secret society party where she ran into a guy who was about to shake her life up.
Roman is your typical rich frat guy. Everyone wants to be with him and his friends. He walks on water and can do no wrong! He is hyper-focused on Lux and on a mission to make her his but has not admitted why. He is trying to get even, but deep down Lux does more to him than he wants to admit!
The story develops quickly and has you guessing why Roman is so fascinated with Lux! I can’t wait to read the next part of this story! It’s killing me not knowing what happened to Roman and what trauma Lux is hiding!!
Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read this book and leave a review! Thank you, Evelyn Austin, for writing a well-written book that continues to keep me engaged and questioning! I can’t wait to read the next part of this book!

Geez 🤩what a roller coaster ride lol😆
When I read a book in one day that means I really enjoyed it! And it ends on a cliffhanger so I will definitely be reading the next book!
If you like Dark Academia, Secret Societies, hot, rich surfer boys, dark secrets, mystery, beach scenes, some spice, sexual tension and a possessive MMC then you will like this book.
The relationship between the MMC Roman Rush and the MFC Lux is a turbulent one. Lux is hiding a deep dark secret and Roman will stop at nothing to take her down for hurting his "family" ,the secret isn't revealed in this book, so I really can't wait to read the next one! I would recommend this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️

It’s a quick read, and the secret society intrigue pulled me in. But note: the MMC is a combination of toxic, controlling, rich, and morally grey.

Lex and Bree accidentally stumble upon a secret society ritual during their first day on campus. Lex reluctantly gets swept up into the old school world of the society when its leader “chooses” her to basically be his +1 for the year. While she’s fighting back against this arrangement, Bree goes missing.

We find out why Roman selected her, but no major reveals happen for the FMC in this book.

It’s dual POV, dark-ish (more like gray) academia, secret society, college romance. It’s also a short read, so I flew through this.

Tbh, it reminds me of 2011ish romance. Dubious consent, “alpha” dude (saying that gives me indigestion), ownership. Except here, the FMC is vocal and pushes back against the rich asshole MMC. I’m curious to see more reveals (hopefully?) happen in the second book.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my advanced digital copy!

* this is an arc review *
This read has full potential. It's a dark college romance with a secret society, a bit of a alphahole mmc, a damaged heroine, a missing best friend and more secrets on top.
It was a quite easy and quick read. A tad of a let-down with the storyline potential. I feel like it wasn't deep enough to really get into the feel of the story. Maybe it'll work out better once the series is complete? Just felt like there was always bits missing.
Wouldn't say it's bad, just lacking a bit at the moment. Hopefully the next books in the series will help.

Tell me you like it was definitely an interesting read, if not a bit confusing but in a good way. I feel like as book that is a 2 part series it has a lot going on in such a short period of time. I was able to put 1 thing together but I have so many questions, this is what will bring me to the 2nd book when it comes out. I did have some issues with the FMC who the author gave her very much "I'm not like other girls" vibes which drive me just a bit mad.

This was a bully college romance and parts of it reminded me of the Lords series, Legacy of God's series, and The Devils Night series, so if that is what you're into you would like this book.

I do think the author needs to add trigger warnings to the book itself instead of directing readers to her website. There are some very strong CNC scenes that may upset some. I also didn't like the one scene that included the other girl, I don't think it really falls under cheating since the FMC had made it very clear they aren't together but something about it just felt a bit off.

Overall I'm giving this book 4 stars because it did captivate me and I would really like to find out everything that is going on. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book, I will be on the lookout for the next one.

I want to start with saying that the cover for this book is so gorgeous I would want to buy this book even for the cover alone!
I was also very happy that I enjoyed this book a lot! I feel like it was just the right amount of dark romance for me, nothing too extreme so it was very easy to read. There is also some mystery in the story since the first book doesn’t show the whole picture but you just know there is definitely more going on. Can’t wait to read the next book since I’m now invested in it and I need all the answers!
I love the main character Lux, it seems like she’s been through a lot in the last couple of years and she ends up in this weird relationship that she doesn’t even want, her friend goes missing and you just know more trouble is coming her way in the future. She is also such a strong woman who can stand up for herself.
I would definitely recommend this book!

3.75/5

The book was engaging and a quick read. The plot was easy to follow but things moved quickly. I was disappointed with the spice as it was marketed as a dark romance. There was little spice until that last few chapters. It did deliver on the dark as the book contains a secret society and a touch her and die trope. As the book seems to be part of a series, you are left with unanswered questions which is somewhat frustrating as I feel like one of the questions (how does Lux and Roman’s past intersect) could have been answered in this book. There are multiple hints through the dialogue surrounding this topic but no concrete answers. You are also left with questions about Luxs’ best friend, Bree’s disappearance. I’m hooked enough that I will read the second book to see if I get any answers to the cliff hangers.

Could've been a great book if executed differently. There wasn't really any real plot. It's marketed as a dark romance but there no romance till the 90 ish percent mark and its not even dark. If I could rate it zero stars I would. This boom is just one rabbit chase after another leading to pretty much nothing

College, elite bully romance with several mystery plots lurking under the seduction. Strong characters and enough simmering that you will be starting a guessing game for potential connections and answers. Nothing ends, overall cliff and planned three more books to finish ...

I wasn't a fan of this book. I found the characters bland, and the plot was oddly paced. Many times when reading this book, I felt that for a large majority of the book, nothing was happening. I thought the concept was interesting, and that is what made me want to read the book, but I just think the execution needed some work.
