1st time reading this author, will definitely read more of her books. I enjoyed Seth and Craig’s story, the had hot romance, suspense and action, with the paranormal aspects. Now will have to read previous books in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

Many thanks to the publisher and author for the e-arc!

This is NOT book 1 in the series, but I would say it’s ok to read on its own (that’s what I did since I hadn’t read the previous books). It does take a bit of time connecting the dots that aren’t explained in this book since it’s later in a series, but once you get the gist of what’s going on, the story is good. I loved that Seth and Craig got to be together and that Seth is a powerhouse boss of her own who isn’t dependent on a man or immortal creature. There’s some spicy scenes added in that just further make the point how great Seth and Craig are to one another. The only downside I had with this book is that there were quite a few unanswered questions once I go to the end. Hopefully they’ll appear in later books.

OML Craig and Seth have a few mountains to climb to get to their HEA!

Craig lost a mate centuries ago and vowed never to love anyone again. Something he succeeded at until Seth crept under his skin. Seth aka Annaseth is the lead Cynn Mortal and heads up protection for the mortals near to the Faesten. She has overcome a lot of trauma and abandonment issues to get where she did. But sadly the family dysfunction is not yet over and her parental units are going to giver her a lot more heartache before the story is over.

Craig is a great second in command to Colin Butler as he has absolutely no desire to be the man in charge. But his temporary promotion is causing more stress and sleepless nights than he planned for.

The Scatha mortals and Cruor are back causing problems and I actually enjoyed the story overlap with the previous book as it was a bit of a brain refresher for me and reminded me of some of the plot points so far. Betrayal is definitely one of the main themes for this book and it was superbly woven through the action. Colin is wallowing a bit in pity at the loss of his brother and Craig feels he needs to be brother/best friend and the boss all at once - he feels really conflicted ordering his boss around!

Love this series and long for more.

I didn't read this book, I devoured every word. Every steamy moment, every heartbreaking moments, every breathtaking ones too. Plot and characters sucks me in their world, I wanted to stay with them and never come back to my reality.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for sending me a digital copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is my first book with Isobelle Cate and it did take a while to understand the different groups and people. It would have helped to have a few pages to explain the authors world, and key players.

There were several grammatical and spelling errors that should have been picked at proof stage. More noticeable at the start of the story as I was trying to understand the background.

I loved the FMC and her bad-ass and tactical strength. I would have liked to find out about her birth parents and know her adoptive parents got their comeuppance.

I am intrigued to look out for other works by this author (and read the series in order.

This was the first book of this series I have read. It took me awhile to understand some of what was going on but it was good. I liked the strong female lead perspective. It had a good ending and I will probably be reading more of this series. I was given anARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
