Absolutely love C.L. Taylor's writing and was extremely excited to receive an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.
The story is based around five individuals who are all being stalked and part of a support group.
At first I was slightly confused with the amount of characters but they were all very different and the more I read the more I connected with them.
Fast paced and frightening when you also listen to the authors note at the end!
I have since bought the hardback copy I enjoyed it that much.
Highly recommend !

It delivers a twisty thriller experience, plunging readers into a gripping tale of individuals stalked and threatened with death.

The narrative revolves around a group of individuals united by their shared experience of being stalked, providing each other with support and vigilance. However, when they convene for an event, a chilling wreath delivery hints at the heightened peril one among them faces. Each character grapples with genuine danger, their nerves frayed by the ever-present threat of their relentless pursuer.

The author adeptly sustains tension throughout, culminating in a satisfying twist that scrutinizes the relationships of key protagonists.

While the story boasts a substantial cast, with four central figures, each harboring a distinct backstory and stalker, the author ensures clarity from the outset. However, the relentless pace, while initially exhilarating, may have benefited from occasional interludes of backstory to provide respite.

Despite a few plot points stretching credulity, they seamlessly integrate into the narrative. I do however thing this mix of so many characters and the length of the book made it feel a bit of a slog. I did find myself loosing interest in parts.

I opted for the audiobook format, really well narrated by Clare Corbett, whose delivery enhances the immersive experience.

Whilst I loved the premise and thought it was really clever, something didn’t work for me as well with this one.

A group of stalker victims have come together for support and advice. Although they met virtually they have come to rely on each other to get through their days and deal with their stalkers. When one of them is murdered and the rest receive a vague threat that could link be meant for anything, they decide to band together to strike back and ensure their safety.

This was a good, fast paced thriller. The downside for me that apart from the very last twist, it was a little predictable in places and the final twist that did take me by surprise was one I really didn't like.

I listened to the audiobook of this and I really liked the narration.

Alex, Lucy, Brigit, River and Natalie are members of a stalking survivor group. The police having failed them all, they find solace and support through each other. After one of their group is murdered by their ex, newly released from prison they decide it’s time to take control; the stalked are about to become the stalkers intent on bringing their own form of justice before the date in question. Attending the funeral of their murdered friend they receive a warning in the form of a wreath with a card announcing the date one of them will die. The date is relevant to all of them in some way so their hyper vigilance is taken to a new high.
This is a fast paced and at times terrifying tale of a group of very different individuals all victims of control through stalking. The date countdown, short chapters and punchy writing make this story almost unputdownable. I listened to the excellent audio version in two sittings - I just couldn’t stay awake long enough to do it in one!

My second book by CL Taylor and it absolutely blew me away.

The thriller genre has been waiting for a good stalking story and it’s finally arrived. I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t stop listening. The countdown till someone dying added such suspense!

Every Move You Make

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a brilliant and complex psychological thriller that kept me guessing until the end.
Starting with a bang, this never let me relax from start to finish!

We meet our 4 main characters as they attend the funeral of one of their friends who was murdered by their stalker (from the prologue).
They all originally connected when they created and joined a Facebook group for victims of stalking!

Whilst at the funeral, a threat is delivered in the form of a wreath with a date on it.....the only problem is that the date could be linked to all 4 of them.
Who needs protecting - who is meant to die!?...

Now, I don't know about you, but stalker themes always have me feeling uncomfortable for the whole read because you just never know when they might turn up or what they might be capable of.
Having seen one murder, I was already completely on edge and was preparing myself for the worst with that creeping feeling up the spine!

Through the chapters, we gradually learn all about each character and what form their stalker takes. Their histories together, who they are and how this manifests in the stalking.
Told from each pov, we really get a great feeling for all of their mindsets, thoughts, feelings and fears!

I loved that as a group they found a way to fight back and take control of their lives, but things didn't always go to plan and I was rooting for each of them along the way.

There was so much going on for each character that it was almost like reading 4 different stories, but the way this was written, linked them all together perfectly and as we reach the climax, we see quite a few exciting reveals and shocking twists.

The writing style brilliantly got across that super creepy atmosphere. There was a sense of dread throughout and almost a sense of no hope - especially knowing how the police deal with this sort of crime...or not!
We definitely see how that inherent worry about how we're perceived to other people and the fear of looking weak, played a major part in the characters' ability to deal with their issues.

This was fast-paced and full of action - I couldn't put it down!
A definite 5* read which was made even more chilling with the authors note at the end! 😲

Probably not my favourite by this author but it did flow well, enjoyed the twists I did find it a bit hard to get into with the amount of characters.

3* Every Move You Make is a high octane thriller about a group of people who are being stalked and facing a death threat.

A group of people, who are all the victims of stalking, provide support and solace to each other, checking in to make sure each is safe. However, when they come together for an event, a wreath is delivered suggesting that one of them is facing the utmost danger.

This is a smart story with a clever hook. Each character is facing real danger and is left with shredded nerves as their stalker could lurch around any corner. The author does a fantastic job of maintaining tension throughout and the ending is a satisfying twist, as some of the main protagonists relationships are brought under scrutiny.

There are a lot of characters to get acquainted with. A core group of 4, but each with a backstory and a stalker. The author does well to ensure the reader is able to follow the action from the outset. My one concern is the pacing. This felt like it started at 100mph and never really slowed for the entire book. A bit of mixing up action with backstory would have been welcomed. There are also a couple of plot points which were far fetched, but they they just worked.

I listened to the audiobook which was very well narrated by Clare Corbett.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance copy.

A group of stalker victims are concerned when one of their members goes quiet days after her stalker is released from prison. When their worst fears are confirmed, they gather together at the funeral, but when a threat is received, they realise the clock is ticking for them to get their lives back.

There are many characters in this story, but the format did well to keep track of them without getting confused. I enjoyed the fast-pace, tense tale and the authors personal experience shines through.

Thank you NetGalley, HarperCollins UK Audio | and C.L. Taylor for the EARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a twist of events! Here we meet our characters who have bonded over each having a stalker. A stalker who always knows where they are, what they are doing and even things it shouldn't.

Events bring them closer together, determined to help each other find their stalkers and get back to leading a normal happy life.

Every twist is totally unexpected, sometimes you think you know what's going on and then your thrown another twist. That being said, it is very cleverly written and all loose ends are brought together, even ones you didn't know was loose!

Totally bingeable, loved it and couldn't put it down! Would totally recommend!!

What a book. It’s an edge of your seat read. Twisty stalker read.

Five friends who all have stalkers are at one of there funeral when a floral display turns up with a date on it. The date is in ten days time, they figure out one of them will die then. But who and why?

I listened to the audiobook and it was a great listen, each chapter is another friend telling you their story about there stalker. Each character had there own dialogue and it was easy to follow. The narrator makes the read creepy and you are looking over your shoulder while listening.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

The author is one of my favourites and I've read all of her other books and was excited looking forward to this one. I'm a newbie when it comes to audiobooks. I never thought I'd get used to them as I'm easily distracted. However, currently finding zero book reading time in my schedule, I'm now listening in bed each night before sleep. And I'm really enjoying them.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc audiobook.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Firstly, the narrator's voice is very appropriate and different accents and tones distinguished the different characters (even does a good Scottish accent).

I follow this author on social media and knew that she previously suffered the experience of having a stalker so is well versed and this shows in the story. She conveys the multiple victims' thoughts, fears and panic very well.

Five victims, four female and one male. Five stalkers. One victim is murdered by hers and at her funeral, the others received flowers accompanied by a note that gives a date ten days forth, saying one of them will be killed on that day. They form a Whatsapp group where they check in on each, checking each is safe, organising catch ups etc. They come up with a plan to know where each stalker is, hoping this allow each victim to temporarily relax knowing if theirs is far away and warning them when they are near. Chapters tell us how each of them puts this plan into effect and risks involved.

Meanwhile the countdown to the day someone dies continues and each chapter covers each day beforehand and from each of the victim's perspective. Whether living alone or with someone else, always looking over their shoulder, suddenly seeing a feared face in the crowd, constantly looking around crowds, in corners, in doorways, listening for the dreaded familiar voice they have escaped and have subsequently been hiding from. Why and when did the stalkings all start? What are the links between stalkers and victims? Why are some reported to the police and some not?

I was glad to see a male stalking victim included too as we so often think of them as the stalker rather than the one being stalked.
It's also very interesting and clear how stalkers manipulate their victims and others into doubting their sanity, their possible misinterpretations of behaviour, situations and statements.

There are plenty of incidents, behaviours and clues that made me question the victims too. At one point, is this victim really a victim or a perpetrator who has manipulated me into thinking they are.

I have read some mixed reviews about the book but I enjoyed the plot and the atmosphere created. I actually, learnt quite a few things about taking safety precautions as a victim and how police approach the subject too. So I'm giving it a firm 4 out of 5. Why not a 5? Some parts were a bit slower than others but often this is necessary for red herrings and background. So, not perfect but certainly gripping enough for me to look forward to my next listen. I actually finished it in 2 days.

There was so much going on in this book. I thought that the plot had gone too far, until I got to the end of the book and it all made sense.

CL Taylor has done it again, a brilliantly plotted, twisty dark emotional read.

I enjoyed listening to this audio book, where the emotions of the ‘stalked’ were clearly portrayed and the characters differentiated well. Clare is easy to listen to, whilst not distracting from the plot. Rivers voice was the only one I found an uncomfortable fit for the character.

The most poignant moment was listening to the authors notes at the end, where CL Taylor demonstrates quite clearly, her own horrors of being stalked. This in turn, explains her clear understanding of how it feels to be stalked.

This book starts with a tough opening, from there, the pace is relentless and the tension palpable.

The story continues, with alternating narratives moving the plot forwards, slowly revealing the backstory to each of the characters. I found it took a while for me to be able to discern the characters clearly, apart from one.

What was a simple, dark plot, quickly develops into a twisted, frenetic, multi-layered mind blowing story. And just when you think it is moving towards a conclusion, another twist comes at you!

The horrors of being stalked are clearly portrayed through this book, along with the importance of friendship.

Highly recommend this book!

Thank you Netgalley, CL Taylor and Harpercollins Uk audio for the audio arc of Every move you make.
Narrated by Clare Corbett

Every move you make is a great psychological, twisty thriller about a group of people who have one thing in common. They are being stalked! And how can you keep one step in front of your stalker? By becoming one yourself. This story grabbed me straight away and each character had a very definite voice. There are parts of the narrative that made my skin crawl due to the claustrophobic nature of the stalking. Clare Corbett did a brilliant job in building the tension, creepiness and keeping the characters real. The reveal at the end, I didn't really see coming and found the twists and foreshadowing great.

A good 4 star twisty thriller

I think this is my first ever CL Taylor book (how is that even possible?) and I must say I really enjoyed it! I loved the narrator of the audiobook (I recognised her voice from The Second Sight of Zachary Cloudesley) and she did an incredible job of voicing a large cast of characters. Each voice was distinctive and instantly recognisable, which is credit to both the author and the narrator. This book was gripping and I looked forward to my long car journeys so that I had time to immerse myself and have a good listen. I had some suspicions along the way but didn't guess the whole of the big reveal. I was totally hooked by Every Move You Make and will now definitely be reading more by this author. A good, tense psychological thriller which was written really well in my opinion. The author's note was really moving and I have huge sympathy for Cally and her horrible stalking experiences. You can tell that this was a huge motivation for her writing this book when she felt ready and I think she did much to honour the victims of this horrible crime.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for allowing me early access to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Easiest 5 stars ever. This book is incredible, and yet scarily credible. You think you know who the victims are, but even the victims have their reasons for not being completely honest about their torment.
The story is well paced from the opening chapter, with the tension kept high all the way through. As a reader it is easy to sympathise with the unrelenting anxiety the victims feel at the hands of their stalkers.
The book draws on a lot of contemporary issues around stalking, the role of the police and the helplessness and desperation of the victims. It is a well observed work of fiction with terrifyingly numerous real-world echoes.
The narrator does an excellent job of giving voice to the varied characters. Their tone is engaging and the narrative flows well.
I will definitely be recommending this book and this author to others.
I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to listen to a DRC of this book via Netgalley.
