Wow. This is quite the crime thriller. One of my favorites this year! I was engaged with Rachel & the other characters throughout. With several suspects, I wasn’t prepared for the twists that kept coming at the end. I love when a thriller shocks me!

I don’t know how I didn’t know of Peggy Webb before this book, but I’m an instant fan!

This is the first book in the exciting #LoganSistersseries & I already know the #LoganSistersThrillers will be great to read! Can’t wait for the other books to publish!

Thank you. ,Peggy Webb, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

Rachel, her two children and her grandmother live together at Logan Ranch! She loves being a teacher, but is becoming increasingly suspicious because there is a serial killer in town and everyone is anxious and jumpy. 'The Collector has already taken quite a few children and placed their bodies where they would be fairly easy to find. Then Rachel comes home one day and finds her sons' teddy bear has been replaced, along with a tarot card! How did he get in? This is how he lets people know their child is next. Hank is Rachel's dead husbands' best friend and has been helping her and the family since her husbands' death, but he wants more.
Can these two find and take down this madman before someone else dies?
It isn't often I read a book that keeps me up at night cuz I can't stop reading!
The story is fantastic and I will definitely read every other one in the series!
If I could, I would give this story 10 stars!!

Black Crow Cabin by Peggy Webb is book 1 in a brand new chilling and atmospheric thriller series featuring the Logan Sisters.

Still reeling after the sudden death of her husband, schoolteacher Rachel Logan is determined to give her children as normal an upbringing as she can. But with a dangerous predator known as the Collector roaming the streets and now even entering homes, how is she ever going to be able to keep those she holds most dear safe?

Her family have always seen magnolias has being a portent of doom, so when Rachel wakes to the scent of them heavy in the air, she is certain that something is wrong and that her children are in danger.

Terrified, Rachel is relieved when her late husband’s best friend Hank offers to move in with them to help keep her family safe, especially as she is convinced there is something dark and evil outside watching the house…

But then, as the tension ratchets up to almost breaking point, the unimaginably evil Collector sets his sights on Rachel. Will she be able to put a stop to him before time runs out for two innocent children?

Peggy Webb’s writing is top notch as she weaves a thrilling tale with plenty of twists, turns, shocks and surprises along the way. Atmospheric, fast paced and gripping, Black Crow Cabin is a wonderful mix of creepy thriller and family drama, with a chilling plot that really did keep me guessing throughout.

Black Crow Cabin is a brilliant read that I would highly recommend. I can’t wait to see what Peggy Webb has in store for us next in the Logan Sisters series!

My love for mysteries and thrillers led me to pick up Black Crow Cabin by Peggy Webb. It's a brilliant start to the Logan Sisters thriller series. Webb weaved an intriguing, shocking, and bizarre thriller. A tale intended to keep readers hooked from start to finish.

The series revolves around three sisters who have extraordinary abilities. Rachel Logan, a schoolteacher, widow, and mother of two gorgeous children, is introduced in Black Crow Cabin. She has the capacity to detect when danger is close. She lives in a beautiful, small town, but the presence of The Collector disrupts the tranquilly. So named because of their penchant for
1. taking personal items from their victims' homes.
2. kidnapping children
3. Leaving behind a tarot card at the crime scene.

So when several items went missing from her home and a tarot card was left behind, Rachel knew her children were in danger. Will she be able to protect her children from the infamous Collector?

So Rachel demonstrated bravery and smarts for most of the story. However, there were two instances where she failed to use her smarts and ended up placing herself in a precarious situation.

Black Crow Cabin delivered on the thrills and chills. Suspense and a sense of danger had me hooked. The Collector's POV added to the tension and made for some interesting reading. Despite the horrific details in some instances, diehard fans of thrillers will have a hard time putting this one down. I look forward to what else the series has to offer.

Atmospheric, with a high creep factor, this book had me captured and on the edge of my seat from page one. With a villain called The Collector who takes items from homes and children from parks, the story is mesmerizing and all too realistic. Rachel Logan is the strong female protagonist, a widow with two small children and who is being targeted by The Collector. With scent playing an insidious role in the story, I was enthralled by Rachel’s ability to sense the presence of evil by the scents that lingered and warned her of danger or change. The book’s hero is swoon worthy Hank, a helicopter pilot and the self-appointed guardian for Rachel and her children since he swore to her deceased husband to take care of her. The plot is fast-paced and twisted, with the Collector showing up wherever and whenever unexpectedly and always leaving behind a tarot card to announce his presence. I enjoyed following the clues and even enjoyed being fooled by the red herrings and false trails. The characters are well-developed and realistically portrayed, with my heart going out to the parents of the missing children who are understandably panicked. This book is a propulsive thriller and an addictive mystery, all set in the scenic west of a small town in Colorado. With crisp writing and gripping suspense, the book was hard to put down from the beginning until the stunning conclusion. This is a heart-in-your-throat novel with intricate plot threads and s terrifying tale of danger from unexpected sources.

Although I found this slow to start, it did end up sucking me in. The twists and turns were intense enough to keep me engaged until the end. The character building was spot on and ultimately they are what kept me turning the pages. I’m looking forwards to reading more from the author in the future

What a brilliant start to a new series. Black Crow Cabin is the first in the Logan Sisters series by Webb (a new to me author) and it's a proper page turner.

The added bonuses for me were the girl's inherited gift from their mother, their sixth sense and the glimpses we got into the mind of The Collector.

All of the sisters were strong, well developed characters, in fact I'm already looking forward to a catch-up in book two.

Don't mess with the Logan sisters is the moral of this story. Rachel is a fierce widow mom just trying to get by in life. When the Collector begins terrorizing their small town kidnapping children and stealing items from his victim's homes she worries about the safety of her kids. The Rachel notices items are missing from her home and they will be his next victim.

This was a cozy thriller. There weren't any scenes that were overly mature or gorey except for a few short paragraphs related to animal violence (trigger warning). The story was well written and exciting. Rachel is a strong female character whose only goal is to protect her family. I loved the addition of the "6th sense" the sisters have from their mother. Jen is another Logan sister, but she have much presence in this story besides boss people around, which is a known fault of hers, after Rachel’s home was targeted. I anticipate seeing more of her in future books. I, personally, didn't like the inner dialogue of The Collector. It was a bit silly at times but easy to overlook. This has been the start of a good series, and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!

Black Crow Cabin kept me engaged from the first page. It was an interesting plot line with the Collector which you assume is just a serial killer taking children. The signature stolen item in exchange for the tarot card sets the stage for another kidnapping. Rachel, the lead character who is a widow and single mother has a gift. You learn early on the family is "gifted" in different ways. The three sisters each have a different "special gift" that is touched on briefly. Hank is the best friend of her dead husband who looks out for whatever Rachel may need and he is her close friend. Hank would love more in the relationship department but doesn't want to ruin what relationship they have now. I loved the grandmothers' spunk where she always has the shotgun ready! My kind of woman! As the mystery of who the collector is unfolds through his POV, the reader starts to see the madness that has taken over his need for the perfect family.
I loved the paranormal aspect of the book. The way the author weaved it into a thriller kept me wanting to know more. Although I hope in the next book the author goes more in depth on these "gifts", I thought it brought more to the story than the usual of finding a killer. I have read other books by this author, and I have always enjoyed them, but I really enjoyed this new series. The Collector was original. Rachel and Hank were likable characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something different and enjoys a good whodunit!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the eArc of this book.

The first in a new series by Peggy Webb and Bookouture. I have to say I found it to be way below the 4-5 star reads I've come to expect from this publisher. This one would be okay to read in a pinch, if I didn't have anything better to read. It was a below average read for me. I didn't like, nor connect to any of the characters, especially Rachel. I found her to be too weak to be the lead character.

Unfortunately, this one didn't cut it. 1.5/5

Thank you for the eARC #netgalley and #bookouture.

Rachel is a single mother and a schoolteacher in a small community that is being threatened by "The Collector". A person that started out taking small items out of houses and now is taking children. Rachel has a foreshadowing of smelling magnolia's that the Collector is after her children next, but it isn't the children he is after, it is her. Can her deceased husband's best friend Hank, protect them from the coming events?

This is a fast paced, edge of your seat story that holds your interest from the first page to the last. I can't wait to see what the next book is in the series.

Thank you to the Author and NetGalley for an ARC in return for my honest review.

A new series and a new author for me.
I loved how the mysticism of New Orleans wafted its way to the Colorado Rockies. The scent of magnolias was like the do do music playing in the background…very ominous.
Rachel was bad ass all through the book. The best part was her time with the Collector. It was so creepy how she held her own against the demented maniac. I surmised her plan based on her tote bag before it was implemented and I got some hardy laughs at the descriptive outcome. However, it was also scary and I read faster to see what would happen.
Hunky Helicopter Hank and his Stetson had my heart from the start.
The ending was sublime but I must know what happens to the other sisters!
I finally got how the book title fit in after Cuckoo of the Crows fluttered in.

Black Crow Cabin: A completely addictive thriller packed with suspense is a gripping and mysterious small town thriller with paranormal aspects. I enjoyed the mystery, the characters, and the mounting danger on every page!

Rachel is a schoolteacher who is navigating life after the sudden death of her husband. She, her children, and her grandmother are living in a small town which appears to be picture perfect. Unfortunately, living amongst them is a “collector" who takes children. Rachel has heard the whispers of the locals, she has heeded the danger, but when a photograph is taken from their home and a tarot card is left in its place, she knows her children are in danger. Rachel calls Henk, her husband's best friend, who agrees to come and stay with the family to keep them safe.

Readers are given the POV of the collector which makes for interesting reading. Knowing the thoughts, motivations, and goal of the Collector enhanced the story for me. Who is the collector? What has this person never been caught????? These were the questions swirling through my mind as I read.

I enjoyed the tension, the mounting sense of danger, the suspense, and the paranormal aspects of the book. The paranormal parts come in the form of "gifts" the women in the family have. This is the first book in the 'Logan Sisters' series which has me assuming that each sister will have her own book with the other sisters having minor roles as was the case in this book.

I found this to be a solid start for the series. I look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.

This is the first book in a series and I am already impatiently awaiting book two!! Rachel, an overprotective single mother, is obsessed with a the local "collector." He is a person that no one notices. He manages to slide in and out of people's houses, snatching things as he goes. Sometimes this includes people. This is a book that I could not put down. Once I started, the pages just kept turning. I do not think you would want to miss this book. This is my first Peggy Webb book, but happily it will not be my last!! Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion.
