Nelle Lamarr may have just become one of my auto-buy authors within one day! She instantly drew me in with the slightly creepy and strange character of Marley. While I have never been in the situation, I felt sympathy for Ava and hoped that she'd find the good in her life that she deserved.

However, as an amazing writer, Nelle constructed her story so well that I began to doubt who was the 'good guy' of the story, was Marley genuinely trying to help, and Ava being paranoid, or was Marley as off-putting as she appeared?

This book was a roller coaster of twists and turns that had me surprised right to the very last page! Definitely one I would recommend!!

A great psychological thriller that will leave you reeling at the end. So much trauma and gaslighting occur that it will be hard to figure out what is happening until the end. This book will leave you wondering who you or your family may have wronged in the past and what revenge they make take.

I rated this 3 stars for predictability, plot holes, and the ending. The twist at the end was great but I think it should’ve left on a cliffhanger and not told us the family ended up being safe. It was a fun read but unfortunately I was able to guess what would end up happening with nurse Marley from the get go. So 3 stars for me!

The master of twists, Nelle Lamarr returns following The Family Guest, with another wickedly delicious psychological thriller of revenge and obsession—THE NIGHT NANNY.

I love the author's writing style and enjoyed the last book and this one is even better, full of jaw-dropping twists and blended with dark humor! Get ready for a wild ride!

Ava Sinclair, a former interior designer, is married to Ned. She has had a rough, high-risk pregnancy. Her husband is of little help since he is frequently busy doing deals and out of town.

She is discombobulated, disheartened, disheveled, and on crutches to help with her mobility. But she needs to get out of the house and takes a walk to a nearby Starbucks near one of the most prestigious universities in California.

There she meets a woman who seems to be a nurse and very concerned with her medical condition. She has PGP, edema, and preeclampsia. She tells her she will have a C-section in three months. They will be naming the baby Isa after her husband's mother.

The beautiful woman's name is Nurse Marley Manners. She is a nurse and gives her a card. Ava lives in Hollywood Hills and Marley gives her a lift home versus taking an Uber.

Three months later, she is dealing with a baby girl and no sleep, a fussy baby, and trying to recover from the surgery. Her mother, Rena, is not a lot of help since she is in Vegas. Is she suffering from postpartum depression, too?

Ava is sick of hearing about her husband's deals and decides she needs help, especially at night. She desperately needs sleep. She thinks about the card in her purse. She will call Marley Manners, NCS (newborn care specialist). This woman will surely save her family.

In the meantime, Ned (a jerk) meets this stunning woman while running who resembles his beautiful mother (a celebrity) who has passed. He is smitten. Since Ava's illness, their marriage is falling apart.

However, when he arrives home later, he sees the same woman in his house. Is this their new nanny? Ned is full of himself and is a founding partner with IMAGE (Influencers, Musicians, Actors, Gamers, and Entertainers). He is not cut out to be a dad.

At first, Marley seems like the best thing that could happen to Ava and the baby. She even gives her a nice gift: a Baby Reborn doll. But soon, she is controlling everything. She has her baby on bottles instead of breast milk, is always there for the baby, and never gives Ava any time with her daughter. She is controlling their life.

Then there is the gaslighting, making Ava and her husband doubt her ability to be a mother. Then Ned starts flirting with Marley and takes her side. Is Marley trying to take away her baby? What is going on? The sins of the father (parents and grandparents) come back to haunt the present.

Told from the POVs of Ava, Ned, (then/ now) Marley, two years later, and Mary- epilogue and a juicy postscript. The story alternates between twenty years earlier to learn more about Marley's background.

What is the connection? Totally unexpected!

We also meet Gabe Lucas Ned's best friend and partner at the company. He is single. He is concerned that Ned is not spending enough time with his wife and daughter and has eyes for the night nanny.

But everyone is keeping secrets—a shared betrayal, a shared mistake. Ava has her secrets, Ned has his. Marley has hers with a plan of revenge, and nothing will stop her. However, she was not expecting the ferocious mother bear in Ava. This was no chance meeting with the Nanny. When the past and present collide, it is explosive! Did someone get away with murder in the past?

Lamarr keeps the readers guessing as to Marley's motives and why. Something is in Ava and Ned's past. They are targets. Someone has to pay. Will Ava be able to save her baby?

Then the author throws in another final signature twist that will have your head spinning! The showdown was heart-pounding!

You will be glued to the pages from the start to the explosive ending in THE NIGHT NANNY. I loved it. Gaslighting at its finest. For fans of Frieda McFadden, Miranda Rijks, Kimberly Belle, Mary Kubica, and Sally Hepworth.

Prepare yourself for a thrilling, addictive domestic suspense thriller about marriage, betrayal, motherhood, revenge, greed, obsession, and the secrets of the past that push us to the edge.

Revenge has no expiration date.

Unputdownable! With shocking twists, I devoured THE NIGHT NANNY in one sitting! Fast-paced, compelling, twisty, suspenseful, and fun! If you have not read this author previously, get this one ON your TBR list.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a digital advance reading copy for an honest opinion.

Wow what a twisty physcological thriller with surprises that just keep on coming. With a wonderful narrative we slowly get into the twisted mind of Nurse Marley who I definitely wouldn't want looking after my baby. The Night Nanny had me reading all night long because I was well and truly hooked. The ending left me trying to pick my jaw up off the floor!!

Wow! What a rollercoaster ride!! The Night Nanny is definitely an unputdownable suspense thriller with so many shocking twists! I felt for Ava throughout the entire read. Poor woman is so clueless and oblivious to even the most obvious things. And Marley was certainly the nut job! The author did a phenomenal job keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end! Each twist topped the last, which made this book hard to put down. 5 stars!!
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and Nelle Lamarr for this suspenseful read!

I got invested into this author after reading her debut novel. The Night Nanny is her second novel and I have to say that this book is much better than her debut novel.

Synopsis - Ava Sinclair is dealing heavily with her first pregnancy what with her husband Ned travelling around signing off the deals. By chance she meets a woman named Marley, who is a qualified nurse and who is working as a night nanny. Ava already dealing stress with the birth of her daughter Isa decides to hire her. Nurse Marley seems to be too qualified for her job and does her job very well, keeping Ava's daughter well fed on time. But soon, we realize that Nurse Marley was actually doing this job for something else...

Good points - This was a fast-paced thriller and also quiet unputdownable. The story is mainly narrated by Ava although you will find Ned and Marley's POV as well. The writing was really good and the author does a good job of drawing the reader into the story. We have Ava who might be an unreliable narrator, we have Ned who might not be a good husband to Ava and Marley whose intentions of working with Ava isn't clear and isn't revealed until the end of the book. The twist at the end of the book was great. The book is also quiet a page turner which is a plus point in most psychological thrillers.

Bad points - I did predict what might happen in the end that Marley wanted revenge on Sinclairs however, the reason why she wanted revenge on Sinclairs was completely unexpected which was a great twist. .

Overall verdict - this was actually a great thriller, filled with twists and turns and you wouldn't really want to put this book down once you start reading--worth 4.5 stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I know some people prefer their books to be believable- if that is you, maybe skip this one. If you can sit back, relax, and suspend belief… READ THIS.
The Night Nanny was so wild and twisty. Obviously I questioned a few characters from the start but I never in a million years could have predicted how all of this would play out. I loved it. It got much darker than I anticipated in regards to the “doctor” and all.
The post script addition was the perfect cherry on top.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

"The Night Nanny" by Nelle Lamarr is an addictive and unputdownable psychological suspense thriller that had me captivated from the very first page. Lamarr's masterful storytelling and skillful plotting kept me guessing until the very end, with twists and turns that left me breathless.

The tension in this book is palpable, as Ava grapples with her own memory loss and the sinister events unfolding in her own home. Lamarr expertly crafts a sense of unease and paranoia that permeates every chapter, leaving readers questioning the motives of each character and eagerly turning pages to uncover the truth.

What I loved most about "The Night Nanny" was its complex and multi-dimensional characters, each with their own secrets and motivations. Ava's struggle to trust her own instincts and unravel the mystery surrounding her nanny and husband kept me on the edge of my seat, unable to tear myself away until I had reached the shocking conclusion.

This book truly kept me up at night, as I raced to uncover the secrets hidden within Ava's fractured memories and the dark corners of her home. With its killer twist and relentless pacing, "The Night Nanny" is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers.

Nelle Lamarr has crafted a five-star masterpiece that will linger in readers' minds long after they've turned the final page.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Night Nanny’ written by Nelle Lamarr in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Ava is six months pregnant and having complications with her pregnancy when by chance she meets Marley Manners who tells her she’s a newborn care specialist. When baby Isa is born Ava and her executive husband Ned aren’t getting enough sleep and hire Marley as night nanny.

‘The Night Nanny’ is a psychological suspense novel with three main characters, Ava, Marley and Ned, who aren’t as they initially appear to be. When I started reading the plot caught my interest but the further I got the more unbelievable it became and I struggled to relate to the unlikeable characters who were two-dimensional and lacked substance. Although the final twist compensated for the predictable plot, it didn’t give me the buzz I normally experience when I’ve finished a book I’ve enjoyed and I was glad when I reached the end.

Okay this is the type of thrillers that I really like! I definitely thought it was such a fun thriller and although I figured out some of the twists, you get hit with twist after twist back to back that you honestly don’t see coming. Marley was definitely unhinged and crazy, but I loved how the character development was done. There were so many times I could not put the book down because I had to know what was going to happen next. Ava was a bit of a weakling at first but as the story progressed she really stepped her game up thankfully. There were a few things I found unrealistic that a new mom would allow with a new baby or the smelly diaper part that was common sense that Ava didn’t seem to possess. Other than that this was a great 4 star read and I can’t wait to check out more from this author. I would love to discuss this book with others so I would for sure suggest it for a book club recommendation. Grateful for the complimentary copy of this story and all options are my own.

This was a very predictable book with unlikeable and underdeveloped characters. . The Premise didn’t really interest me probably because I don’t have kids and I couldn’t get past some of the disjointed plot points . It also felt very YA to me.

Lies, Betrayal, Murder, what more could you ask for in a. thriller book? Answer is nothing. This book grabbed me at the beginning and kept me turning the pages. There was great character building, the scenes were written extremely well. I felt like I was in the book.
I read it in one sitting. This is my first book by Nelle Lamarr but definitely not my last. Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.
