I really enjoyed this book! It was definitely twisty and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was coming next. I thought I had it figured out, but there were some great twists that shocked me! It definitely makes you think again about who you allow around your kids! My one complaint is that I did feel a little frustrated with the main character’s seemingly complete naivety when it came to the care of her daughter. I know that in this story, this baby is her first, but I felt that she seemed to know absolutely nothing about caring for a baby and just blindly did whatever the nurse said, even when it seemed questionable. Most moms have done at least a little research, and I would have expected a mom who was so well off to have done more preparation. Makes for a good story, but as the reader I just wanted to scream at her for knowing nothing and allowing someone she barely knew to dictate such a huge thing. Overall I enjoyed it and I will definitely be checking out other titles from this author!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC!

I REALLY enjoyed this book. Thank you for the ARC Publisher Bookouture. Thank you #NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book for early access to this book.

GREAT thriller! I loved getting to know the characters throughout this book. I really connected and loved Ava. I couldn’t believe how her husband spoke to and treated her.. I did not see the twist and still have one unanswered question… is Gabe Isa’s father??

Also, that EPILOGUE?? I want an Ava’s revenge book.

Ava is a struggling new mom who needs help with her baby, Isa. She and her husband Ned hire Marley as a night nanny, and she truly seems to be a godsend. Marley is very private, and Ava wonders what secrets she’s hiding. When the truth starts to come out, Ava can’t believe everything that is revealed!

You better check with your doctor to make sure your heart is healthy enough to read this book! It was so intense and there were so many twists and turns! I did not see any of this coming! This book was easy to read and very entertaining from the beginning!

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for letting me read this ARC. This was a great book!

What an intense and twisted story this book is. There are hold your breath moments when you can't imagine what will happen next. There is betrayal, revenge and murder - the perfect recipe for a fantastic thriller. I loved it from cover to cover. It's unputdownable. I gladly recommend it.

I absolutely loved this book! Talk about a page turner. I loved how it all fit together. Right when you think you know what’s going on, more pieces to the puzzle pop up and leave you shocked. There was a brief time where I truly disliked Ava and felt she was a weak and ridiculous character but it very quickly becomes clear to not underestimate her. I really liked how the characters are so well formed and you can feel their emotions and understand their reasonings for their actions. This all around was an amazing book. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy!

In the night Nanny by Nell Lamar we learn about Anna who not only suffers from a debilitating pregnancy disorder but after having the baby her PGP persist causing her pain and in need of help. Thankfully three months before she met Marley who is a night nanny and who she hires. Her husband Ned Laurent is Hollywood royalty and he acts like it he is a stereo typical rich kid with no consequences only now he is an adult a dad and a husband. When Marley starts working for the couple she immediately takes over not only caring for the new baby but the parents as well needless to say Ned is infatuated with the statuesque blonde with violet eyes and all of a sudden seems interested in his one week old baby where he wasn’t before. Nanny Marley seems just as infatuated only she has a different motive and a different outcome in mind. Every adult in the house has a secret but only one of them has a plan. OK this book although I think the set up was pretty good but there were things in the book that really had my eyes rolling in my head shaking. When reading a book that has so many untruths discrepancies it makes it seem the author didn’t do her due diligence for one thing when you have a baby under one month old in a sling her feet are not going to stick out the bottom number two California has never had a hurricane and hurricanes are predicted weeks in advance so to act as if it just popped up it’s ridiculous and that’s just the first two things off the top of my head they were many more like what mother would let the mom and tell her she couldn’t feed her baby… Either way this was the book it was kind of twisty but I’ve read better it seemed juvenile and too many times I had to stop and Google some thing I knew wasn’t true it’s just distracting when you write so many things that are out the box it takes me totally out of the story and was irritating to boot. I don’t think I would read another book by this author yet it seems this isn’t her first book and so many people gave it five stars I’m sure she’ll consider the successful but I do not. Not to mention the ending seemed just as ridiculous as most of the rest of the book. I want to thank Bookoucher for my free arc copy via NetGalley please forgive any mistakes I am blind and dictate my review.

WOW WOW WOW!

What an addicting read!

As a mom of two who has gone in the trenches postpartum I was so nervous the whole time reading. I loved the multiple POV's.

This book pulled me in from the beginning and had me on the edge of me seat the whole book. This is what I am talking about when I say it's a chilling psychological thriller. You aren't going to want to put this one down.

5/5 amazing stars!!!

"Night Nanny" by Nelle Lamarr is a gripping psychological thriller that will leave readers questioning everything they thought they knew about trust, motherhood, and the fragility of the mind.

The novel follows Ava, a new mother struggling with memory loss and the challenges of caring for her baby daughter, Isa. When Ava's husband, Ned, suggests hiring a night nanny to alleviate some of the stress, Ava reluctantly agrees. However, from the moment the nanny enters their home, Ava's sense of security begins to unravel.

Lamarr expertly builds tension throughout the story, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with each twist and turn. As Ava's paranoia intensifies and she becomes increasingly convinced that something sinister is afoot, the line between reality and delusion blurs, leaving readers questioning whom to trust.

The character development in "Night Nanny" is particularly well done. Ava's internal struggle with her own sanity is palpable, and readers will empathize with her as she grapples with doubts about her husband and the safety of her child. Ned's behavior adds to the intrigue, as his motives remain shrouded in mystery until the final pages.

One of the novel's strengths is its exploration of maternal instinct and the lengths to which a mother will go to protect her child. Lamarr skillfully navigates the complexities of motherhood, adding depth and emotional resonance to the story.

Overall, "Night Nanny" is a captivating thriller that will keep readers guessing until the very end. With its compelling plot, well-drawn characters, and suspenseful twists, this book is sure to leave a lasting impression on fans of psychological suspense.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. First time for me reading a Nelle Lamarr thriller. It kept you guessing with lots of twists and turns. Relatively quick read. Eventually I will need to go back and read her other book. Nice ride!

This is a fast paced, easy to read thriller.
There's definitely a good twist which I always enjoy, but for me there was something missing with the substance of the characters in the book. I felt like there wasn't enough development with them. The freshly postpartum mother trope is fairly common in a decent amount of books recently, so I think to really send it home as a must read, there has to be a substantial impact on the reader through the characters.
I believe this book is worth the read, but I'm not sure I would recommend it as a must read.

In *The Night Nanny*, author Nelle Lamarr crafts a tale of maternal paranoia and psychological tension that promises much but falls short in execution.

The story revolves around Ava, a new mother grappling with memory loss and postpartum struggles. Desperate for relief, Ava and her husband Ned hire a night nanny to assist with their newborn daughter, Isa. However, as Ava's suspicions grow and unsettling events unfold, she finds herself questioning the motives of those closest to her.

Lamarr weaves a compelling premise with the introduction of the mysterious night nanny and the eerie atmosphere that permeates Ava's home. Yet, despite these promising elements, the plot unfolds in a disappointingly predictable manner. The twists and turns lack the element of surprise, leaving readers with a sense of déjà vu rather than genuine suspense.

One of the book's major drawbacks lies in its characterisation. Ava, Ned, and the night nanny fail to evoke empathy or interest from the reader. Their actions feel contrived, their motivations shallow, rendering them two-dimensional and unrelatable. As a result, it becomes challenging to invest emotionally in their plight or the unfolding mystery.

Furthermore, the narrative leans heavily on clichés and tropes commonly found in young adult fiction, detracting from the intended adult psychological thriller genre. The writing style lacks depth and sophistication, further contributing to the novel's overall lackluster impact.

In conclusion, *The Night Nanny* offers a promising premise but ultimately falls short in delivering a satisfying psychological thriller experience. With predictable plot twists and underdeveloped characters, it fails to captivate or engage its audience. Regrettably, this novel earns a mere 2 stars.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Night Nanny. From the very beginning Ned was not a good husband, I mean start running with an unknown woman while his wife is bedridden???? Ava is ridiculous with letting the nanny think the baby is hers and hogging her all the time. The wedding night, seriously??????? Then something happens and it turns into a psychological with soooo many plots that are very extreme. I didn’t want to put it down because there was so much to unravel. All in All a very good read if you can get past the ridiculousness in the first third of the book.

When I read the synopsis of this book, I was immediately drawn to the story. I had very high hopes for this book because I love psychological thrillers but unfortunately this one missed the mark for me. I honestly didn’t like any of the characters and found myself getting frustrated. This was a 2 star read up until the last 20% of the book, I bumped it up to 3 stars because of the unexpected twist. What I thought would be a predictable book, turned into a twist I did not see coming which I super appreciated!

Definitely pick this book up if you like:
Easy to read/follow
Multiple point of views
Books with unpredictable twists
Are a fan of Freida McFadden’s books

This was a fun and twisty read- it initially seemed like it would be predictable but introduced some great twists. The story centers on Ava, who is struggling after just having a new baby. Her jerky husband Ned is not super supportive and so they hire a night nanny named Marley to come help them. Marley seems too good to be true initially so you know drama ensues!

There were not a ton of super likable characters in this book and I do wish we got a little more background to explain some of the dynamics between characters. Though the twists were good, I really had to suspend my disbelief, as many of the surprises were just too coincidental to be in the realm of possibility in real life. Once I got used to that and stopped trying to determine what the chances were of these things happening, I liked the book more. The ending tied things up almost a little too nicely, but I was ok with it overall.

This was a fun read with good twists as long as you are OK with suspending your disbelief. I would round up from 3.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! What an exciting and suspenseful story! This book pulled me in right at the start and I simply couldn’t put it down. There seemed to be a lot of similarities to the film “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” and the book even gives a nod to the movie, which I appreciated. The ending was so different though! I got through this fast paced read very quickly and I’m looking forward to more books from Nellie Lamar.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Nellie Lamar for the chance to read this book in return for my opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am posting this review voluntarily and will include some spoilers.

The Night Nanny is a gripping thriller that follows Ava postpartum as she struggles to care for her newborn baby, Isa. With a tragically useless husband and a hidden secret, she hires Nurse Marley as a live in nanny, though begins to suspect that Marley may want Isa for her own.

The story was really well written and fast paced, making it a very easy read and incredibly difficult to put down. There are many twists and turns towards the end which left me gasping in shock. I enjoyed the multiple POV's the book had to offer, allowing us to see from Ava, Ned (her husband), and Marley's point of view as the story continued.

SPOILER BELOW!!

Despite the fact that the book wrapped up really nicely, I think a few things at the end brought this book down to a 3.5 star rather than a solid 4. I didn't get why Ava ended up killing her mother, especially as she only had a few months left to live anyway, though it was very satisfying, it just seemed very off for Ava's character. The final twist of the new nanny being Marley's mother was quite surprising, though I think it should have been left on that, rather than a news article saying that she had been found out and no harm had come to the family. It should have ended on a cliffhanger.

Overall I rather this story a 3.5 stars. It was a jam-packed thriller with excellent pacing and plenty of brilliant twists that seemingly all came out of nowhere. I'm looking forwards to reading more of Nelle Lamarr's books and would recommend this to all thriller fans.

2nd psychological thriller from this author and as always after an excellent first book you aporoach with excitement but almost wariness when ‘tis the 2nd
But I had no need to worry, another stomper of a book that has created a hard to forget main character ( Nurse Marley ) who is intent on major disruption in the lives of those she is pretending to help and nurture, she is a Nurse you don’t want to meet and definitely you dont want her to have you on her radar….
Loved the setting of LA and Beverley Hills….. the after problems of birth are something I know nothing of but the descriptions of Ava’s mental and physical well being were clearly indicating the struggles she was facing and were described brilliantly….and then along comes her saviour….except she’s the devil
Great story and narrative and loved the authors letter at the end where she explains the 2 part ending and how she struggled with it and without giving anything away I agreed 100% with it
Reader friendly writing and a force to be reckoned with in the thriller genre, roll on Book 3
