I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This was another amazing book by this author and I could not put it down. I have been approved to read the followup book and I am so excited to get started on it today. Her books are always filled with twists that you don't see coming. I always think it's so easy to figure out the twist and I'm always wrong. I love how this author can write such an amazing thriller without the use of all the foul language. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Brynn and Nathan are about to be married. Nathan’s Mom comes to help. Things take a twisty turn from there. Someone doesn’t want to see the happy couple walk down the aisle. But who is it really? Great twists in this one. I can’t wait to read the next one! Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for the arc of this book.

The Woman at My Wedding by L.G. Davis is the first book in the Broken Vows series, and I am so thrilled to have this addictive tale continued.

Brynn cannot wait to marry her perfect fiance, Nathan. But in the lead up to the wedding of her dreams, a series of unfortunate events threaten to derail her happiness. With Nathan, a lawyer, immersed in a big case, Brynn must rely on her best friend, her wedding planner and her mother-in-law for guidance and support as she prepares to walk down the aisle. If you think you have this cracked, think again.

This was a fast-paced read that had me guessing until the very end. I cannot wait to see where the twisted narrative will lead next. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

Super quick read. Predictable and repetitive in spots but a page turner with a satisfying twisty ending. Getting ready to read the next in the series now.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed are strictly my own .

Say WHAT?!? That was a wild ride!

30 days until Brynne's dream wedding, and somebody doesn't want her to get married!!

This one kept me guessing the entire time. I thought I knew, but the ending was a whole lot of crazy! This was a fast read, and it kept me wanting more. The ending was a bit abrupt, but I am looking forward to the next one!

3.5 stars rounded up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy for me to review!

If you think you know what’s going on in this thriller think again. My mind changed over and over as I read each chapter. Brynn was excited about her upcoming wedding and was dealing with the remaining details while her fiancé Nathan, a lawyer, was trying a huge out of town case that could launch his career if he won it. Brynn had a wedding planner so she wasn’t worried too much about the last remaining wedding details until disturbing things start to happen and her soon to be mother-in-law shows up unannounced two weeks before the wedding and decides to stay with Brynn while Nathan is out of town. Everyone around Brynn is hiding secrets, including Brynn herself. The secrets that are uncovered will leave you with your jaw on the floor. The author did a great job at slowly revealing each characters secrets without revealing too much right away. This I feel makes for a great unputdownable read. Thats for the deliciously wild ride!

The story had a really intriguing premise but was unfortunately a miss for me. I have a lot of thoughts that I’ll try to share in the most constructive way possible.

First, the writing didn’t feel descriptive, immersive, or emotional because it lacked a “show, don’t tell” approach. Brynn’s friendships aren’t demonstrated through actions or rich dialogue - we’re *told* that she and her friends are close. The conversations between Brynn and Nathan don’t flow - we’re *told* the conversations flow. They don’t show each other love or have a natural chemistry - we’re *told* they love each other through various repetitive declarations of love. This left me disconnected from everyone and everything that happened because I wasn’t able to decide on my own how I felt about anything based on the merit of the character dynamics, dialogue, or plot.

In the same way, Brynn’s descriptions of the other characters were way too much exposition, and many of the details weren’t relevant to the story - it felt like information that should have been solely for the author to use to understand the characters’ motivations, as opposed to including all of that background in the book.

The dialogue was flat and repetitive, the characters seemed really robotic, and I didn’t love the pacing. The reveal of “the woman” was also anticlimactic and honestly, none of the characters even seemed to care who it was either. There was a pretty interesting twist towards the end but the lead up wasn’t executed effectively so it just seemed really far fetched, random, rushed, and, at times, didn’t add up. The ending was also odd and no one was held accountable for their actions.

Although the story takes place in a small beach town in Florida, terms like “chemist” instead of pharmacy, “poorly” instead of sick, and the constant calling people “darling” all stuck out to me and felt very out of place. Much of the word choice and mannerisms were not reflective of North American culture.

I really wanted to love this one and it was a quick read, but unfortunately needs some work. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC, and I genuinely hope this feedback was helpful in some way!

This book was a quick, entertaining read! The first half felt a bit slow, and the author's intent on changing who you'd suspect as "the woman" was obvious, but the book's second half had lots of twists and ended on a perfect note for a sequel.

Thank you Netgalley for my copy.

Oh no! I don't realise this was part of a duology. Now I HAVE to go and find it to see what happens next.

I liked this book. I enjoyed the twists and was even blindsided by one which I really didn't see coming. I liked being right about my speculation on the others too. The characters were all terrible, vapid, annoying and horrible people and I loved to hate them all. Even the goodies.

Looking forward to reading more from Davis

Decent thriller with plenty of twists right up to the end. The style of writing I found hard going at times and maybe a few unnecessary twists lengthened the story. I didn't like the main character, she was overly wholesome, with no bite to her, I found myself wanting her to fail which was maybe the authors end goal
Many thanks to the publishers and netgalley for the ARC

This book had me addicted from the start! It was so intense that I could not wait to see the twist. Authot knows how to deliver the breath taking, draw dropping twist that we all know and love and never expect the ending. I believe this book is her best one yet but I say that everytime I read one of her books. Thank you for allowing me to read your book in advance.

Another twisty tale by L.H. Davis. Short, fast paced chapters make this title a fast read. Initially, I thought that the storyline was a little reminiscent of other difficult mother-in-law to be books, but as I kept reading the twists kept coming. I liked it!
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and L.G. Davis for the opportunity to read this ARC.

A day that is meant to be magical turns to a nightmare, the questions of why you can trust and what a day to discover secrets!

Brynn is about to marry Nathan, the love of her life but, whilst he is away, defending an alleged serial killer, the mother-in-law appears on Brynn's doorstep expecting to stay and help with the wedding. Brynn already has her own wedding planner, maid of honour and dress maker supporting her so the last thing she needs is interference from a woman she dislikes and who strongly disapproves of her. When bad things start happening, the reader has to guess which of the women in Brynn's life are responsible. This is the apparently straight forward dilemma, but, as we gradually discover, nothing is anything like it appears. There are a number of twists in the story, most of which I didn't see coming but this is partly down to the fact that many of them are highly implausible. There are just too many coincidences and fortunate timings to make the plot convincing, particularly in the final few chapters. Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading this story, the writer has a very readable style and the writing is fairly well-paced. I just didn't feel any of the characters would have behaved the way they did in real life.

This was a fantastic and exciting psychological thriller which really keeps you gripped until the very end. I loved the fact it was twist after twist and you definitely won't see them coming.

Nathan and his fiancé are estranged from his mother, but she shows up before the wedding, things start to happen, and it keeps you guessing until the end.

I was super into this book. That ending was woahhhhh. Debbie was my favorite. I couldn’t believe it! I never saw it coming!
Mother in law books are my favorite. And I didn’t realize this was one until I was reading. This one was on a different level! That last twist was BRILLIANT. I also actually really enjoyed all the added drama that was going on, at first I was confused by it thinking it was over the top but as the story progressed I totally understood it!
Dropped a single star for the main character, she was the only bit I couldn’t actually get into….
This is my first time reading this author and certainly not my last!

You’re 30 days from your dream wedding and things are going swimmingly when out of the blue your estranged MIL arrives and now an unknown woman has begun terrorizing you.

Her writing style reminds me of Frieda McFadden in that since it’s a popcorn thriller. You‘ll have to suspend belief but you’ll have a good time doing it. This is written with dual POV’s and I was locked in from page 1.

I will say that the last few chapters felt disjointed and it was as if the plot hit a loop-di-loop. We were moving right along the mass chaos ensues. Like, what the heck. How did we get here?! I figured out one of the big twists fairly early and after surprise after surprise in the last few chapters the book just ended.

I was going to be upset but found out there is a sequel. Will I be reading it? Absolutely.

Brynn has spent months planning her wedding to the man of her dreams. A few weeks before the wedding, her fiance's estranged mother shows up to help with the wedding preparations, except strange things start happening making Brynn feel like she is trying to sabotage the wedding. Twisty, addictive, nail biting.
