Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC**

This was a great book with lots of twists throughout the whole book. Just when you think you have it figured out, L.G. Davis hits you with another twist. It’s a fast paced story.

The whole time I was reading it I was trying to figure out who was trying to ruin the wedding, don’t worry no spoilers here!

I enjoyed the characters and really felt like Debbie was the typical over bearing mother in law that protects her son at all cost. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Review

This is my first book by this author but it won't be the last.

I really enjoyed it I couldn't put it down. I was hooked. I cannot wait till book 2 in the series.

I couldn't work out who was trying to spoil Brynns wedding and I love it when I can't figure out who or what the twist is. Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to review.

Wow! LG Davis does it again. This book is right up there with the best of them. It’s so great to ‘discover’ an author that just lights up the pages. I always feel like I’m a part of her stories. Crazy great characters. As much creepy as it is compelling.
Thank you NetGalley, LG Davis and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found it an easy, well paced read. Quite predictable at times but this didn't spoil the story for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. I absolutely love L.G. Davis books and will always read whatever thrillers she writes. She makes you feel like you are in the story. This one was filled with mystery and then I had to decide who I felt sorry for and who I wanted to get caught. Definitely alot of twists and turns. A must read.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and L.G David for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
The woman at my wedding which is book 1 of 3 in this series is a thrilling, edge-of-your seat book!
I found the writing style very similar to Freida McFadden and Daniel Hurst. The second half of the book was very quick paced and full of twists. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick thrilling read!

So I would like to start off saying that I absolutely love this author previous works and I feel really bad about this not so stellar review. She usually doesn't miss. Unfortunately, this book was a complete miss for me. It had soooo many clichés, it was ridiculously unbelievable and felt kind of rushed. It read more like a short story because everything happened too fast. I might read part 2 with hopes of the next one is better.

“The Woman at my Wedding” is a psychological thriller by L.G. Davis. This review is going to be all over the place as there were parts of this book I liked, but other parts I found lacking. First - the book was left on a cliff-hanger, which wasn’t a very satisfying ending, but it does set up for the next book in the series. Second - one of the twists I figured out pretty early on and the other “big twist” I just didn’t care about as a) it didn’t make sense for a while (though it explained a few things), and b) still confused as to why someone had a phone given their circumstances. Third - I did like the setting and Ms. Davis gave wonderful descriptions of the town, beach, and house. Fourth - Why Brynn didn’t toss Debbie out the moment she appeared is still bewildering to me (yes, the story would’ve been a LOT shorter, but …) because for someone so strong and untrustworthy, why Brynn allowed Debbie to manipulate her just didn’t make sense. Fifth - Any wedding planning is stressful - as is being a trial lawyer, so I liked that tension constantly being in the background, but that things seemed to magically align so that the wedding went off after all that happened and the trial wrapped up just in time seemed a bit off to me [off in a forced sense for things to work out in the book]. In many ways, I liked the idea and execution of the book, but I guess the final few chapters didn’t quite work for me. Will I read the second book - probably. Will I read more by this author - again, probably as the writing was engaging. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

The protagonist's excitement for her upcoming wedding quickly turns to fear and suspicion when unexpected events begin to unfold. The arrival of Nathan's estranged mother, Debbie, sets off a chain of unsettling occurrences that leave the protagonist questioning her safety and the intentions of those around her.

As the wedding day approaches, the tension mounts as the protagonist grapples with the realization that she may be in danger. With each new revelation, the sense of unease intensifies, keeping readers hooked as they try to unravel the mystery alongside the protagonist.

I love L.G. Davis’s books so I was very excited when I got another ARC of one of her books! Brynn and Nathan plan to get married. While Nathan is away for work, Brynn is planning the wedding with her wedding planner. But, things started going wrong. Who’s trying to ruin this wedding? Could it be Sam? I was definitely interested in who was trying to mess with the wedding. However, I struggled a little bit with this book. It just didn’t pull me in and keep me on my toes. It just felt like something was missing and I just kept hoping it would get better. I’m definitely interested in reading book two. Hoping I like that one a little bit more than this one. Thank you L.G. Davis , NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!

It was an interesting book and I enjoyed the extra bit of thrill from it, since I am also marrying someone soon. I felt like some of the twists made complete sense where as others felt like there could have been more of a lead up to instead of one big reveal.

Synopsis:
Brynn is planning her wedding to Nathan, a high powered defense attorney during the biggest case of his career. He is defending a woman who has allegedly killed her last three husbands for money. During this time, he is not staying at the house, so Brynn is alone, until her ex-mother-in-law shows up at her door, Debbie. Debbie a nasty woman who will insult you with a smile on her face. I love these types of southern women, because they are all over the south. Brynn has no idea why Debbie is there but she is afraid to push her and force her to reveal Brynn's secrets. Brynn is also receiving threats about the wedding that are terrifying her. She keeps pushing forward, regardless, and finally makes it to her wedding day. It is ruined at the last second as she barely makes it to Nathan at the end of the aisle as she goes into anaphylactic shock from unknowingly ingesting peanuts. She barely gets her epi-pen in time before they rush her to the hospital in their car. All to spiral into arguing where everyone's secrets are revealed. The fighting only ends when the car flips in a devastating crash.

Positives:
- Debbie's character was the most realistic. A woman who would do anything for her son, even if he isn't a good man. One with southern charm and amazing cooking skills but will rip you to shreds with her words coated in honey.

Negatives
- The big twist was saved for the end and I think it could have been better to have a lead up about this more.
- That she was afraid of her 'friend' Sam and then that ended up being someone else. She referred to 'Sam' in her head as 'Sam' which you wouldn't do.

This was an enjoyable read. The book ended up going in a different direction than I first anticipated. I started the book thinking it would be focusing on one plot but by the end I saw how much more complex it truly was.

The characters deserve their own section for me to talk about. It was a roller coaster ride, but not the scary one where you just want it to be over because it’s too much. I was invested into the characters and every one of them went through growth. Was the growth for the better? For some, but not all. The main character evolution was a ride. Usually the FMC is likable, but there were moments where I was angry with her. In the end, I think she redeemed herself to me. She may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Will she be yours?

My very first thought of this book was it was starting off pretty slow. I believed I knew who the woman was that was stalking and trying to destroy Brynn’s perfectly planned wedding.
I was completely wrong! The twists and turns were quite crazy; and it seemed every one of the characters had their own stories and had reason to make sure the wedding did not happen. I loved how the author intertwined all of the characters and brought the story line together with lots of jaw dropping surprises!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in a day! I look forward to reading more of L.G. Davis’s books!!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Wow this is going to be in my top five books for 2024.... It was 3 am when I finished this book and for the life in me, I could not figure out who was behind the things that were happening..... The twists and turns had me every time and the thrill was addictive as the story unfolded. Revenge is sweet but how sweet does it have to be before it becomes sickly...
One hell of a read, and the ending was unexpected. five stars from me with a highly recommended with it to boot

Thank you Net Galley, Bookouture, and L.G. Davis for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a very fast paced, and great, thriller that I couldn’t put down because I just had to find out what was going to happen next. I thought that I had everything figured out fairly early in the story but once the truth was revealed, I realized how wrong I had been and that nothing was as it seemed. I really enjoyed this exciting and suspenseful tale and I’m hoping for a sequel to be released very soon! I’ll definitely be looking for more books from L.G. Davis!

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of The Woman at My Wedding by L.G. Davis due to be published June 13, 2024.
Brynn’s estranged mother-in-law, Debbie, shows up a month before the wedding to “help” her with everything. As the wedding nears, Brynn senses she is in danger – someone has delivered a cake topper with a disfigured bride, and her veil is missing. Is Debbie there to help or is Brynn in jeopardy from her or is it someone else trying to scare/hurt/kill her?
The Woman at My Wedding counts down from 30 days before the wedding to the day of the wedding itself. It alternates between Brynn the “The Woman” who is wanting Brynn to be harmed and not get to her wedding. I always love a book where everyone has secrets, and this was no exception. This one kept me interested from page one – I didn’t want to put it down. It built up to a shockingly good ending – I highly recommend this one, and I will look for more L.G. Davis books!

This is another addictive domestic thriller by this author.
I couldn’t put it down once I started and was quickly drawn into the plot.
The ending is a little far fetched but certainly didn’t take away from my enjoyment.
