Couldn't quite finish this one as unfortunately it was not my cup of tea.i do think this would appeal to some other people though.

Thank you for providing me with an advance review copy of this book. Enjoyed reading, would recommend....

K.L. Slater never fails to deliver. Message Deleted is a great suspenseful thrilling read.
When Saffy receives a message on her mobile phone from her best friend with a cryptic message which then cuts off with “ message deleted” she rushes to her friends home but Leona, her daughter Rosie and husband Ash are gone. Believing that Ash has done something to Leona and Rosie, Saffy is determined to find them.
Saffy has never liked Ash, she found him controlling, narcissistic, and cruel. But as Saffy was the last person to see them alive the police are convinced she had something to do with their disappearance.
It is a book full of twists, intense and very hard to put down. The end was a twist I did not see coming!
I would highly recommend this book and look forward to the next,

I love K L Slater and was thrilled to get a e arc of Message Deleted. This is the perfect spine tingling, psychological thriller which had me on the edge of my seat. K L Slater’s writing is so good and had me picturing the whole book so vividly. It’s as if I was there with Saffy! I’d definitely recommend this book to any thriller readers!!

This was certainly a very entertaining read , with lots of surprises along the way. We follow Saffy and her sister Poppy who four years ago suffered an horrendous attack. Saffys friend Leona and her daughter go missing after sending a text then deleting it. The search is on to find them. We do however encounter for me the most annoying detective ever who has zero sympathy for anyone. We have lots of revelations and flashbacks which eventually pieces the story together. I thought it was very readable and enjoyable with some distasteful characters in the mix.

This was a strong storyline, but it didn't quite deliver the potential. It started well but then slowed up and plateued for too long and lost my interest. It picks up but almost too quick and parts feel a bit disconnected.
Saffy is waiting for a job interview when she received a text message from her best friend Leona. The message reads "Can’t speak… don’t text or call… please just come". Saffy drops the interview and goes, but the message just reads as being deleted.
When she gets there, Leona insists all is ok. Saffy is not convinced, especially after Leona had told her recently that she wanted to leave her husband. However, Saffy leaves them to it. Hours later, Saffy has the police at her door saying that Leona and her family had gone missing and Safgfy was the last person to see them.
There is a history to Saffy involving her younger sister who was attacked a few years before.
The police investigation felt so off. Detective Shah comes across as lazy and actually not doing any investigating.
This was my first delve into KL Slater, I can't say I will be rushing back, what could have been a promising storyline turned into a bit of a disappointing read. It was ok but not what I had hoped.
I give this 3.5/5 rounded down to 3.

Book was ok. Found myself skipping to the end to see if what I thought happened di happen and I was right but I wasn't interested enough to actually read it. Sorry

A message was received, and she rushed to see her friend only to be told the message was not sent. There are three main characters, plenty of twists and turns, and plenty of suspense. I would recommend it.

The plot twists were executed flawlessly, keeping me guessing the entire time. The intense suspense made this book impossible to put down. Once again it’s another winner from the author.

I found the twist too obvious and it took the thrill and mystery out of the book. None of the characters were sympathetic and the villain, so to speak, felt one dimensional.

K.L. Slater’s Message Deleted is a fast-paced psychological thriller packed with twists and turns.
The characters are engaging and well-written, making it easy to get pulled into the story. The story was very well put together and I enjoyed each twist and turn, as well as the short chapters.
I found it a quick, easy read that kept me engaged from start to finish. The surprises were well-executed, and the plot kept me guessing until the very end. A gripping and enjoyable read—perfect for fans of thrillers!
Will definitely look at something else from this author.

This brilliant psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. Dealing with long held secrets and revenge it had me guessing almost to the end. Makes you question who you can actually trust and your relationships. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

"Message Deleted" had all the ingredients for a compelling thriller, but it ultimately left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. The premise was intriguing—a mystery that unravels secrets and lies—but the execution felt somewhat lacking.
One of the standout aspects of the book was K.L. Slater's writing style, which is engaging and fast-paced. I found myself hooked initially, eager to discover the twists and turns that awaited me. However, as the story progressed, I found certain characters, particularly Saffy, to be infuriating. Her decisions often felt frustratingly naive, leading to situations that seemed unnecessary and drawn out. While I understand that flawed characters can add depth to a narrative, Saffy pushed my patience to its limits at times.
The plot itself had some clever moments and kept me guessing, but some resolutions felt a bit predictable. I appreciated the themes of trust and betrayal woven throughout, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the potential for a truly gripping story was slightly missed, primarily due to my exasperation with Saffy's antics.
Overall, "Message Deleted" is worth a read if you're looking for a light thriller, but be prepared for a character that might drive you a bit crazy. While it may not have fully met my expectations, it certainly kept me entertained for a few hours.

Interesting book, well written, when saffy receives messages asking to come to leona but then they're deleted. She still goes to check on her friend never dreaming what would happen next. I found the police officers a bit unbelievable i don't think they would have treated saffy the way they did. Poppy's character was great, really believable, such a troubled character but so much love for her sister
Definitely will look out for more by this author

Told from the point of view of 3 different characters this book is a great read. Twists and turns along the way, some which I didn’t see coming which is unusual and for me makes it a really great read. Highly recommended and I’d look out for other books from this author.

When Saffy receives a text from her best friend, Leona saying "Can't speak . .don't text or call, please just come" the fact that Saffy is literally about to be interviewed for a new job doesn't stop her from rushing to Leona's house. When she arrives at her friends house, the message has been deleted and Leona says that she didn't send it.
Later that evening, the police are at Saffy's home. Leona and her daughter, Rosie are missing, there was bloody found at the house and a neighbour has told the police that she saw Saffy leaving the house. This makes the police want to speak to Saffy as a matter of urgency.
I was dragged in to this book from the off and it kept me hooked almost until the end. I couldn't decide what was going on , who was guilty and who was telling the truth. The sign of a really good book for me. I can't stand it when I know "whodunit" from the start.
However, the end of the book wasn't quite as good. It felt really rushed to me and although everything was wrapped up neatly, I just expected ....,better.

Took me a few times to get into it but once I did I flew through it. Twists and turns at every single point with a final chapter that gave complete closure and made sense of everything.
Absolutely loved will recommend

4/5 Stars: Suspenseful and Twisty Thriller
K.L. Slater’s Message Deleted is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers guessing until the very end. With its premise rooted in the danger of secrets and the ripple effects of a single message gone wrong, the story is both timely and engaging. Slater’s writing is taut and immersive, building tension with every chapter and drawing the reader deeper into the web of lies and deception.
The protagonist is compelling and well-developed, navigating a series of moral dilemmas that feel both relatable and unnervingly suspenseful. Slater excels at creating flawed but realistic characters, and the supporting cast adds depth to the story. Each character’s motivations and backstories are carefully layered, making it difficult to discern who can truly be trusted.
The pacing is brisk, with short chapters and plenty of twists that keep the narrative moving. While the final reveal is satisfying, some aspects of the resolution feel slightly rushed, leaving a few minor questions unanswered. However, the tension and emotional stakes more than compensate for these small shortcomings.
For fans of psychological thrillers, Message Deleted delivers a chilling and thought-provoking read. It may not reinvent the genre, but its well-crafted suspense and engaging characters make it a standout page-turner.

This is the first book of K.L Slater and it certainly will not be the last. I enjoyed this book and found it very easy reading. A good quick read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publishers, Penguin Books, for this ARC.
