Nora has done it again. Thea Fox is a marvel. Through the book revolves around an act of violence it doesn't glorify the act, it shows the paralyzing fear and sorrow that follows in the aftermath. Thea and her younger brother Rem are lucky to have a solid foundation by way of their family their grandmother..
Thea's talent is threaded trough the book, but the main story line is how the family have survived and grown.
A wonderful read, the characters so vivid and real. So enjoyed the read.

I love a new Nora Roberts book and this one is slightly different. Thea and Rem love their summer visit to Grammie for a holiday and Grammie loves having her Grandchildren to stay and help her with the cows and chickens and helping make her candles.. when tragedy strikes Thea and Rem have to change their lives completely but they always know that Grammie is home. A story of love, heartache, and tragedy

Nora Roberts delivers yet another complex, emotional read that will surprise you, make you laugh and cry, maybe rage a little and fulfill all your carvings for a weekend read in your favorite spot, with your favorite drink! I wish we had more than two a year!
I fell so hard for these characters! There is so much heartache and suffering at such a young age. A touch of magic to add that little extra and a dash of life as we follow Thea from the age of 12 through to adulthood. Grief is always there, and the monster that took her parents is always hovering in her periphery, but she bravely and fiercely concurs every challenge she faces and inspires you as she does.
I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I have! I could not put it down, which is not a new thing with a Nora Roberts story!

Many thanks to Net Galley and Little Brown Book Group UK for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
Wow! This is another fabulous read from Nora Roberts who is a master storyteller and draws the reader in from page one.
Thea and her brother Rem arrive for their annual 2 week vacation with their beloved Grammie, their parents return to their home in Virginia, they are brutally murdered in their bed. Both Thea and Grammie awaken from a nightmare, they both witness the cold brutal murder, they both have a special gift passed down through generations of women in their family. They can read other people, see and feel what they are thinking. Thea’s gift is stronger which means she can see the killer, she is able to help the police track down this evil man,
As the years pass Thea is tormented and haunted by dreams which include her parents killer, he also has a gift and delights in tormenting Thea from his prison cell. Over the years there are some mind battles, Thea is an intelligent, strong and determined woman who plots to banish him from her mind forever,
This is a very cleverly woven story, dark and twisty, it includes family life with Grammie, Thea and Rem becoming independent and making good lives for themselves, Thea has huge trust issues but we see her letting her guard down and allowing herself to be happy. The story includes sadness, heartache, family, loss, love and of course Mind Games!!!

Always a pleasure to read. Although there seemed a mix of a lot of characters and storylines from previous books. This was not something that I completely disliked as it was nice to revisit Some Familia people. It was an interesting read And I got through it quickly. Definitely what Expect from Nora Roberts – my favourite author

Another wonderful read, about a family that share a special sight where they can see things happening and get into other peoples minds, sometime this can be good, but other times not so good.
Thea and her brother, Rem, have a very happy life, with wonderful parents (John and Cora) who love them and give them a really good life, visiting with their Grammie (Cora's mother) for the summer holidays on their own in Kentucky - their father's parents are a different kettle of fish, wealthy and just awful people, but thankfully they have very little to do with them.
But that all changes when Thea is 12 and Rem 10 and the unthinkable happens and their parents are both murdered. Even worse is that Thea 'saw' it, as did her Grammie, and both woke up distraught. The gift they have runs in the female side of the family, and whilst Thea didn't understand it, as her mother didn't like to use her gift, she will come to realise her powers as she gets older. Because of their gift they find the murderer and he is sent to jail for the rest of his life, but unfortunately he also has Thea's gift, and over the years pushes into her mind, where they have an ongoing mind battle... until the final battle.
I loved everything about this book, the setting and just the whole feel of the characters in it. Grammie has a farm, with some wondeful animals, and makes her own soaps, candles, etc., and this business takes off as the children grow and get more involved, but each also branch out into their own businesses, Thea as a very talented games designer, and Rem studying business management.
Just a wonderful book with all the usual Nora Robert suspense, threaded through with romance for Thea, but not without obstacles because of her 'gift'. I eagerly await the stand-alone suspense book each year, so the only issue I have is that I now have to wait until next year for the next one! But at least we have the second book in the Lost Bride Trilogy due at the end of the year, so something to look forward to!

Full disclosure, I am a massive Nora Roberts fan. So, when I seen this new book and read the synopsis I couldn’t wait to get started.
12 year old Thea, along with her brother 10 year old Rem are enjoying a holiday with their Grandmother when tragedy strikes and Thea witnesses it all.
The first part of the book was heart wrenching and horrific yet filled with love for the Lannigan-Fox family. A rollercoaster of emotions.
I absolutely adored Grammie, Rem made me laugh, Thea strong and likeable and Brah absolutely adorable.
The story, like all Nora’s previous, was so easy to read and I just didn’t want to put this book down.
I have quite a few Nora books on my favourites list but this one has become my all time favourite of hers. I have already preordered a copy for my sister.
I couldn’t give this any less than 5-stars.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this earc from the publisher via Netgalley but this has in no way influenced my opinion or review.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this exceptional book
thea has the gift.... its a gift passed down the female line
on the day her life changed forever thea saw it all.... at first she thought it was a nightmare but to soon she realised that she had witnessed her parents being murdered, when she got to her grammies room she also realised that grammie had witnessed it as well... as they comforted each other as best they could...grammie knew she needed to contact the police
it wasnt easy but thea was able to identify the perp and tell the police where he was and though there was a lot of doubt nobody could doubt he was the murderer and he went away for life
and though he was escape maximum prison he could visit thea in her mind... and so began the mind games.....
what a story line i was hooked right from the beginning till the end and at times i was heartbroken for them all and i admit to crying.... how hard it was to not feel for them all... man this author certainly knows how to keep you reading till the last page

Not long ago I started reading Nora but little by little I'm getting deeper into her literature. Sometimes I come across stories that were written many years ago and have very questionable characters and other times I come across very cool stories with very well-made characters that I am happy to read.
In Mind Games we find a different story from what I have read about it, where the main thing is not the romance (I saw that many criticized this but... the book is not sold as a romance, what did you expect? I don't like it when They pigeonhole an author to a certain genre, it's not good), but rather the murder of her parents and a serial killer. We also find a beautiful story of growth, of ties, of families, of friendships, of life. A hard life, but a life nonetheless.
I really liked the first part of the book, then I felt that I was getting a little lost and that it was being stretched to tell us the story of the characters very well and then I got a little bored. I also had a hard time understanding when they had grown up and where they were in their lives. But beyond this, I think it's an interesting story and I love that Nora writes other things than just romances. He has very good stories to convey.
Thank you Little, Brown Book Group UK for the ARC I read on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

5 stars!
Favourite. Nora Roberts book. Ever.
I have a major book hangover after finishing this. Fair warning - this one is emotional. Be ready with the tissues.
I don't think it's a surprise that this was great, as Nora Roberts seems to be able to endlessly churn out fantastic novels, year upon year. How does the woman do it?
There's a touch of the paranormal here, and although I often find that unbelievable in other author's works, Roberts does it really well.
It had everything I always love about her books - stellar writing, emotion, interesting characters (it was impossible not to fall in love with the whole ensemble of them) and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Thank you for the arc little brown book group!

I love the versatility of Nora Roberts writing, every book of hers that I have read I’ve enjoyed, Her characters are always well written & I just want to keep reading, Mind Games elicited every emotion from me, it was just brilliant & I was quite sad to finish it.

4* Gripping
Whatever Nora Roberts writes will leave an impression with the reader.
I found the first third of the book upsetting, violent and quite depressing. Further on the plot became a bit far fetched, but who cares, this author knows how to write gripping books. Mind Games is addictive reading, just suspend your belief and it becomes a compelling read.

A typical Nora book, mystery, strange happenings and relationships. A great story which I enjoyed. Its been awhile since I've read one of hers so, it was nice to re-visit. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

As per usual, I read this far too quickly. The way Nora Roberts writes is so easy to read and flows to smoothly, I find I fly through her books which is a good and bad thing. Good because I'm enjoying myself so much but bad because they are over before I want them to be. This is a classic example of the Nora Roberts I love and keep coming back for. A strong lead female character who builds her life with friends, family and a career she loves after suffering tragedy in her childhood. The setting is stunning and the romantic interest delighted me in how he was presented and who he was as a character. All in all, classic Nora Roberts. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mind Games is a Nora Roberts romantic suspense set in Kentucky.
Twelve year old Thea loves spending two weeks of her summer holiday in the countryside with her grandmother. Thea and her younger brother will help look after the chickens, goat and cow, while their Grandmother adores her time with her grandchildren.
A family trait has been handed down through generations of women; they possess the ability to read minds. Sometimes it’s useful— her grandmother often knows just what is needed to give some extra care to those in the community. Thea’s young mind remains unguarded on the night she reads the mind of a killer, and everything in her world dramatically changes.
I really enjoyed the setting for this story. Roberts takes time to build up the layers, adding just enough detail for me to create a wonderful image in my mind of the small town in Kentucky and the strong family ties. There’s quite a lot of time spent with Thea as she grows into adulthood and finally settles down with work and home-life, but it never felt boring to read.
There are some very good secondary characters; I loved Lucy, Thea’s grandmother and Thea’s dog. The sinister element twists and turns as it makes its creepy way to the denouement. There’s romance too, but it doesn’t overpower the main storyline; instead it blends in well. I would be very happy to find I was Lucy’s neighbour and I would be lining up to buy some of her Mountain Magic wares.

The latest Nora Roberts is an engrossing tale I have read over a weekend!
Thea is 12 when she and her 10 year old brother go on holiday to stay with her maternal grandmother in Kentucky.
Tragedy soon follows when their parents are murdered. The added twist is that Thea has a psychic gift and 'sees' parents murder. Her gift leads to the capture and incarceration of the murderer, Riggs, and a lifelong connection between them as they wage a battle with their minds.
Thea builds a life in gaming and falls in love but she will never be truly free till she can get Riggs out of her head and so a final battle begins.
An exciting story with vivid descriptions.

I am so excited about this book as it combines different genres seamlessly and the plot flows intricately. Thea is a teenager when her parents are murdered but even though she wasn't there she seen it all happen. The setting is glorious and relaxing and the dogs especially Bunk stole my heart. I could feel the sense of danger building while reading even though the happy and romantic moments. The supernatural is bought into the real world and it is very realistic. One of the best books by this talented storyteller Nora Roberts who is one of my favourite authors and I will buy any book with her name on.

Twelve year old Thea is living the perfect life. She has a little brother, a dog, an amazing house with a pool and the most perfect and loving parents. And every summer she gets to spend the most amazing two weeks with her grandma in the mountains of Kentucky. Feeding the animals. Cooking. Baking. Making candles and soaps.
Until this year. When her parents come back home from driving them to Kentucky they're killed in bed by a burglar. A guy that seems to have the same gift Thea has. Thea can see and feel what people see and feel and think and do and did. And with that gift she was able to lead the cops to her parents' killer. But the killer knows that too and he'll spend the next decades in jail trying to hurt Thea even more for getting him caught.

Let me start this by saying that Nora could write a new phone book for Tokyo and I would read it. I love her books and I don't even mind the little bit supernatural in this one.
I immediately loved all the characters. The whole family and the dogs and Grammie's farm. I wanted to be there and eat and drink all the things!
The story makes you cry a lot in the beginning. Part one is Thea at twelve years and after that we grow up a bit. The end of College is here and the job world starts. But Thea and Rem want to make Grammie's town their home too. No big city for those two.
Life is pretty good at the moment. And it might even be time for fall in love with the new neighbor. But there's also still that very bad guy in prison. He is still not over his revenge plot against Thea. He's waiting and trying to hurt Thea as often as he can...
What can I say - I really enjoyed reading this and I wouldn't mind seeing it on TV on day! It was a beautiful love and life and family story.
► MIND GAMES was the perfect sweet and heartbreaking Nora Roberts book. I loved every word of it! GO READ IT!

Thea and Rem’s parents have been murdered by an intruder in their home.
The children were staying at their grandmother’s house at the time of the tragedy but Thea who is twelve years old is a psychic and sees this murder in her dream and is able to lead the police to the killer.
This book had me hooked from the beginning and I really enjoyed it.

Another great book from Nora Roberts. I really loved the story, very emotional.
It was a captivating story, the scenes, the closeness of the characters made the story even more rich. The ending was different, I wasn’t expecting that but it was very cool and satisfying ending to the story.
I absolutely loved this book.
