This has to be one of my favourite enemies to lovers romances I’ve read so far. Shane is a hockey player and Dixie is a cheerleader, these two literally go out of their way to annoy the other and their banter is like no other, especially when Shane becomes Dixie’s new next door neighbour! This is fake dating, friends with benefits and just to make you aware there is scenes of domestic abuse but it’s minimal. The spice is perfect and the whole storyline had me laughing and crying. This is definitely not one to be missed!

I am hyperventilating! Why was this giving high school musical when troy bolton was in his theatre vs basketball era - ICONIC. Elle Kennedy has done it again! She never misses with her hockey romances. The Dixon Rule definitely felt heavier than her other books and explored some darker themes but it added a emotional depth to the plot which left me having to take breaks whilst my jaw was dropped to the floor to process. I will always say it but Elle Kennedy has a unique tone to her books which I am yet to experience from another author, this book stays true to those usual vibes. I especially loved the depth to Diana’s character as often, the FMCs in hockey romance books are usually quite surface level and unironically “one of a kind and nothing like any other girl”. Diana was strong-minded, confident but also dealt with struggles in this book and it was refreshing and inspiring to see a realistic FMC in a book like this.
Thank you once again Elle Kennedy for blessing my eyes with a hockey romance literary masterpiece and I cannot wait for your next book.

No because I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this book!

Ugh it was so good, from spending some time with the OG off campus guys, to the banter, and the rollercoaster that was the last 20% of the book.

And the SPICE was so fricking good.

Elle outdid herself with this one and I am already excited for the next one.

Everything about Elle Kennedy's book is in the best tradition of the author.
Her books are always a breath of fresh air, and Diana and Shane's characters were great.
Their mutual sympathy and the sparks that fly around them were very exciting and I really enjoyed reading about them.
I also want to mention how well-written this book was. I wasn't surprised by the quality, but I was pleased.
The characters' relationships developed naturally and I believed in their feelings as they changed and revealed their true selves.
I am delighted with Diana, and she was a bit different, but she reminded me of myself in some ways. I really enjoyed the scene she acted in at Shane's house, when his ex-girlfriend was there. If only Diana could win an Oscar! Despite his initial facade, Shane was an incredible guy. He was very attentive and caring.
My favorite characters may seem minor at first, but they occupy a special place in my heart as you get to know them better.

Diana and Shane have my whole heart.

This book has:

-Fake Dating
-Enemies to Lovers
-Banter
-Spice!!
-Ballroom/Latin Dancing
-Forced Proximity
-Protective MMC

This was an extremely well done enemies to lovers story. These two genuinely hated each other for the first 30% of this book (like seriously she turned the HOA against him). They then started Fake Dating which was done equally as well. A lot of books go wrong on these tropes in my opinion so it was refreshing to read this one.
It just flowed, the story was well executed and yes, we get Ryder and Gigi content!

Please check the trigger warnings before reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Big thanks go to Elle Kennedy, her publishers and @netgalley for allowing me the chance to read the next book in the #CampusDiaries series, the follow-up to #TheGrahamEffect.

Elle Kennedy's book was my first from her collection, and upon discovering that it's part of a series and includes characters from her previous works, I'm certain it won't be my last. It offers a variety of themes to suit all tastes: sports, fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, and some classic smut!

I absolutely adored this book! Elle Kennedy writes the most amazing relationships. I loved the banter between frenemies Diana and Shane. I was giggling throughout the book! Cannot wait for more of this series.

Easiest 5 star! . This book ensures a steamy, hilarious, rom-com full of banter and laughs!

If your already an Elle kennedy fan like me then this will not disappoint! 🥰

Omg, I absolutely adored this fantastic story about Diana and Shane, who we previously met in The Graham effect.
Shane moves in next to Diana and she's not happy. Until they have to pretend date for both of their exs sake.
The ride we go on with the duel PoV is amazing, I love hearing from both sides.
Recommended this to everyone

I loved it! Elle Kennedy is the queen of romance so there was never any doubt. But every time I pick up one of her books I think surely she can’t of done it again? Surely this is the one I dislike? But it’s never the case.

I also think this might be the first of her books to make me cry multiple times. Diana and Shane are some of my new faves

Received via netgalley as an arc copy.

I love EK, and this book held up to her reputation. It was sweet, so funny, light hearted but with deep trauma moments, great character development and great side characters

Okay, I have some mixed feelings about this book. I went in expecting a light, breezy romp filled with banter and steam, à la "The Graham Effect" (which I absolutely LOVED). But boy, did it take a turn I wasn't prepared for. What started as a romcom morphed into a tragedy masquerading as comedy.

I mean, props to the author for tackling heavy topics like domestic violence and sudden parental loss in a tactful manner, but it caught me off guard.

And while the spice was top tear and the banter sublime, I couldn't quite buy into Diana and Shane’s romance. Individually, they're fantastic characters, but as a couple? Meh.

But please, don't let my review dissuade you from reading it. The humour is spot-on and I actually had a lot of fun with it. Just know going in that this isn't your typical romcom – more like rom-sad-com (?)

By the way, 9”, I did the conversion, it's 22.86 cm, wtf!?

Also, quick PSA: This series marketed as the next generation of the Off-Campus series, but Diana and Shane aren't actually second-gen. And while we do get some familiar faces from it, it's not quite what you'd expect.

Despite it all, I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. Here's hoping we get that Will and Beckett story I've been craving.

General information:
- Contemporary sports romance (hockey, cheer, dancing)
- Double POV, 1st person, single timeline
- Part of a series of standalone books (also a kind of second-generation series)

Tropes and hooks:
- Dislike to love
- Friends with benefits
- Fake dating
- Neighbors/Forced proximity
- Hockey Player x Cheerleader
- Sexy times (with a light Dom/Sub dynamic and a pinch of voyeurism)

My opinion:
- I thoroughly enjoyed my reading experience with this book. The writing is easy to read and follow. The plot and characters are a lot of fun time, but the book also has a certain depth and character development. The book gets you hooked pretty fast.
- Diana (FMC). I love her and how badass and feminine she can be. Love her obsession with cheer, dancing, and trash TV shows.
- Shane (MMC). Gotta love him too, especially because we rarely get a hockey player who wants to be in a stable relationship (even though he does get a little bit of track in the beginning)
- The romance. Diana and Shane are extremely cute and sexy together. I love their initial "dislike" banter, their chemestry and just their interactions in general. I find it super funny how they constantly emphasize that they are in a FAKE relationship even though we all know they are madly in love. It's heartwarming to see how they are there for each other and always supporting each other in small and big things. (I don't give more specifics not spoil anything). The only little complaint is that I definitely can see their attraction towards each other, but I didn't get the feeling I saw the moment they actually fell in love and stopped pretending and just being friends with benefits who care about each other.
- Secondary characters are also amazing. Gotta love all their neighbors and their reunions (this part especially hit way too close to home). Diana's father, Shane's family (especially his sister), coach Jensen, and of course the original cast Off-campus/Briat-U and their children - all of them are there for a reason and play an important role. Special mention to Diana's fish and her neighbor's cat.
- I am very intrigued by Will's and Beck's story and I hope it's the next book because I need to know how that will end up, I have several possible resolutions in mind and I don't mind either of them. Also, color me intrigued about Blake and her story.
- The chapter titles are pure gold.
- Last 100-150 pages are packed with stuff happening (in comparison to the rest of the books which mostly follow the romance over the summer) and I think it could been expanded/explored a little bit more (maybe at the expense of removing some other stuff, or maybe not) to show the character growth a little bit more.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fun and sexy sports romances with a little drama and trauma subplot.

Thank you Piatkus, Little brown UK and NetGalley for this ARC of The Dixon Rule by Elle Kennedy.

Firstly when I found out that I was going to be reviewing this book, I definitely squealed with excitement. I have devoured Elle Kennedy's Briar U and Off Campus series, and The Dixon Rule is the second book in the second spin off of Elle's Briar U series- The hot Campus diaries...However you needn't have read book 1 to read this The Dixon rule. And even though I have...I am read it and am reviewing it as a standalone.

To say that I've been waiting for this - is an understatement... I love the blurb- any book which starts with the FMC, Diana Dixon in this case flashing her new flatmate Shane in the first chapter along with a ragtag cast of hot friends and a ragtag cat has my vote already. Diana, has a full summer and a new hot sexy flirty neighbour just adds unwanted distraction.

Shane Lindley Is a tall gorgeous hockey player and playboy (who has a bevvy of gorgeous friends…but of course!) Is the neighbour in question and without giving away the plot, the story is a fun, enemies to lovers, will they - won't they or in this case WHEN will they romp with banter, spice and a lot of hilarity. This is Elle Kennedy's trademark... but I do think that this one is Elle's best yet. The easiest 5 star read for me.

Thank you Little brown UK and NetGalley for this ARC of The Dixon Rule by Elle Kennedy.

I was so excited when I saw I was chosen to have an arc of this book, I've read all of the off-campus series by Elle Kennedy and Briar U series, so when I saw that Elle Kennedy was writing a new series from the next generation I couldn't wait.

The graham effect from the campus diaries is my favourite book of Elle Kennedys and it's been a reread since it came out, I couldn't wait for Diana and Shane's book just from the small snippets we got in the first book of the series and this book did not disappoint.

Shane was a manwhore and Diana hated him but they had undeniable chemistry. I loved seeing the developement of their relationship from friends to lovers. Shane really became the man Diana needed and he stepped up when she needed him most. I just loved their dynamic, they're sexual chemistry was off the charts. Whereas Ryder and Gigi were romantic Shane and Diana were HOT!

I also really loved the snippets we got of Gigis and Ryders relationship, I could read 3 more books just about them and be happy.

Also loved seeing the OG guys, I pray we get books for all their kids I need to see a book about Beau, you just know he's gonna be a heartthrob like his dad.

Elle Kennedy has done it again, this book had me squealing and giggling the entire way through. It did have it’s sad moments, but I thoroughly enjoyed every single second! Shane and Diana’s banter is off the charts, I love how they insult and wind each other up constantly.

Shane is a total fuck boy and Diana’s arch nemesis after sleeping with multiple members of her cheer squad and leaving them heartbroken to the point it distracts one girl causing her to injure herself.
When shane moves into Diana’s apartment complex her goal is to turn the other residents against him and it quickly works. I absolutely loved all the drama that took place at the HOA meetings!

Shane and Diana enter into a fake relationship when shane gets a visit from his ex and for Diana to send a message to her own ex. During their time fake dating, even though they swear nothing will come of it they both quickly develop feelings for each other, which they then make an agreement to become friends with benefits. Shane literally applies for the position 😂. This takes their relationship to the next step, releasing all that pent up sexual chemistry bubbling between them.

I loved seeing their relationship blossom and watching them accept that what they feel for each other is real and not just a ruse.
It’s also great getting to see all the guys/girls again. I already can’t wait for the next book in this series 🤩

Thank you net galley and little brown book group for a copy of This e-arc in exchange for my honest review

Second book from Campus diaries series. Great story about Diana and Shane.
She is a cheerleader and he is an ice hockey player. She doesn’t like him almost from the moment when they met. He for almost a year can’t forget about break up with his ex.
One day they became neighbours and all the story begins.
This book made me laugh so much. I truly love Diana’s character. But then I had to deal with sad moments which made me cry.
So many moments which I haven’t seen coming.
Definitely worth reading!

Amazing! I laughed, I cried and then laughed again! Perfect friends to lovers vibes with some fake dating sprinkled in there. The banter and spice between Diana and Shane was perfection 💕. The character depth and development was great, especially when dealing with some heavy topics.

I’ve always been a big Elle Kennedy fan and I think this is in my top 2 of books she’s ever written!

*Will publish my review on Goodreads on 2nd May*

The story really started in The Graham Effect where we saw Shane and Diana instantly disliked each.

Overall this felt realistic and dealt with some hard hitting topics which made the ending a whirlwind of emotion.

I liked Diana and Shane together, I think they made an obvious couple right from the off even if they did bicker. Although to be honest it was more banter than bickering.

Kennedy turned the heat up a little in this instalment too. The spice was definitely hotter with both friends with benefits and a kink coming into play.

One of the things I loved about this was absolutely the moral of the story. You shouldn’t need to change who you are deep down for a relationship. And I loved that they still had the same sarcastic attitude towards each other to the end.

If you like Kennedy’s other books then no doubt you will enjoy this one too. The only disappointment for me was that it couldn’t really be considered a next gen book. But, we did get glimpses of pre loved characters and hints of future stories to come. Personally I hope the next instalment is anyone’s but Larsen and/or Beckett’s.
