Savor It follows the story of Sage Byrd, a small town teacher with a huge heart, and Fisher Lange, a disgraced NYC chef and guardian to his 15 year old niece Indy.
I loved this book so much. The characters, and the complexity of their feelings, made it such an enjoyable read. It made me laugh, feel and cry!
Fisher is great. He was broody to start with, but he becomes absolutely obsessed with Sage. He is trying so hard to be a good guardian to Indy, but he just doesn't know what to do. I love that through the course of the story you get to see his priorities realign.
Sage is beautiful. She is the town, her life philosophy is amazing and she is the perfect fit for Fisher. Her inner monologue was so funny and genuine, it was a pleasure to read.
All the secondary characters were well thought out, not gratuitous in any way. Sage's brother's were amusing, without the hint of misogyny that often comes with protectiveness. I wish we had more Wren, but then again I also want a Wrellis second chance story! The animals were such a lovely addition to the quirkiness of Spunes!
I loved this book, and will definitely be reading more by Tarah!!

I loved this! It was so cosy and so swoony and so wonderful!! Tarah creates the perfect combination of sweet and spicy with the most brilliant, small town vibe.

"Savor It" by Tarah DeWitt is a delightful romcom that serves up a perfect blend of spicy summer fun, small-town charm, and heart-warming romance.
Set in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon, the story follows Sage Byrd, whose life takes an unexpected turn when her long-term relationship ends and her ex gets engaged. Determined to reclaim her happiness and put her ex in his place, Sage teams up with Fisher Lange, a former hotshot chef grappling with grief and a loss of passion for cooking.
What ensues is a delightful tale of redemption, friendship, and unexpected love as Sage and Fisher navigate the ups and downs of the town's annual summer competition while growing closer with each passing day. DeWitt's writing is brimming with heat, humour, and heart, making it impossible to put down.
The characters are wonderfully fleshed out and relatable, with Sage and Fisher's chemistry sizzling off the pages. As they work together to improve Fisher's image and overcome obstacles, their relationship deepens, leading to steamy rendezvous and genuine emotional connections.

Small town romances fix everything.
I absolutely adored this book. I loved the writing style, it was fast paced and so easy to follow and dealt with heavier topics in a great way. I absolutely adored all of the characters and the atmosphere basically immediately - I loved the small town setting and the characters were the sweetest. My favourite thing about this book was probably all of the odd animals, I just thought it was such a cute addition and added so much to the book.
I cannot wait to pick up the paperback of this one and read more by this author because this was so much fun and so quick to read.

Guys I’m so obsessed with this book it’s a joke. It’s one of my favourite books I’ve read this year. It is so sweet and so beautifully written. I loved Tarah’s writing from ‘Funny Feelings’. She really draws me in and makes me feel all the emotions she wants to show within the pages. Sage and Fisher’s story was a really special one. They loved hard and so deeply. They communicated with eachother so well, and always spoke everything through.
That sly Farley mention I was screeching. My girl!
I urge everyone to read this book when it’s released. It’s an amazing read.

I really enjoyed this book. Fisher gets sent to a small town with his niece after having to take a break from work, where he meets his new neighbour Sage.
I loved both of the main characters and thought they were great together. It had some of my favourite tropes: small town romance and forced proximity.
There were so many sweet moments but also lots of funny ones. Definitely a book I’ll read again.

What a great book! Fisher and Sage are both written as such complex characters, making me so interested in seeing their journeys individually and together throughout the book. The ending was perfectly written and I was incredibly emotional throughout the last 25% of the book, leading to me reading it all in one sitting. The communication between the pair was a great, unlike many other books in the genre, which made me root for them the whole way too. 5/5

Such a delightful romance with Sage and Fisher in small-town Spunes, Oregon. Fisher is a New York chef suffering from burnout (and maybe depression) who ends up working in Spunes along with his prickly niece Indy, as he is now her guardian. Sage is his new neighbour and she gently brings them both into the town's world and her own.
This weaves along with its own momentum, it’s not slow, just more of a contemplative journey. Very subtly we can feel Fisher healing and coming back to himself and Sage is part of the reason, but so is the rhythm of Spunes, the restaurant project, the animals, the attitudes of the townspeople, these all help him to recover. Sage is also healing herself- she reads the room and all the people in it and draws them out and together. She’s not sweet, just warm and selfless and vulnerable.
There's drama in the background - bush fires, building holdups, Sage's menagerie, training for the local Spunes festival but none of it breaks the rather dreamy feel of it all. There’s tenderness, caretaking, talking and steamy spiciness 🌶🌶 as Sage and Fisher give in to each other. If you read romance to be hopeful then this is just perfect!
I adored every minute. Highly recommended as a comfort read 💕
Thank you NetGalley, Tarah DeWitt and the publisher for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This is one of those romances that gives depth to the plot, gifting us with characters who are complex and layered, facing difficult situations, and finding themselves amidst the romance. I loved watching Sage and Fisher’s chemistry right from the get go, the way they bounced off each other and gave as good as they got in their verbal battles. These were two people who needed to find each other and I felt it right down to my soul. We get to see their comfort around each other, their vulnerabilities laid out in their conversations, as they get to know each other. They spend time together and talk, with dialogue that never feels forced. Were there times we were served a heap of heartache? For sure. I’m still feeling it, and all the heartache was so beautifully written.
There’s a whole small town of characters that offer some of that essential small town quirk and there are definitely some stories there. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Sage’s brothers who bring a dose of humour with their cameos in the story, and I would have loved for them to be a bigger part of this book.
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

This book was so beautiful! I love it when a book instantly makes me want to move to the town they’re writing about, and even more so when I actually feel like I’m there. The emotional intricacies of this book were written so well and added so much appreciated depth to the characters and the storyline. Our FMC was loveable and funny with electric chemistry with our MMC.

This book literally feels like the embodiment of summer; so cozy and magical - the small town setting really augments that. The characters felt so three dimensional with having real problems, but working through them and communicating. I loved seeing the fact that the MMC went to therapy - more of this in romance books please! Just overall a book you’re going to want to read on holiday this summer.

Where do I even begin?! I'm actually not sure l'll ever recover from the perfection that is Sage and Fisher; like, this is hands down, my favourite read of 2024 and I want to cry! 😭🥹
I seriously have been living under a rock, or something because how is this my FIRST EVER Tarah DeWitt book that I’ve read, and why did it almost have me close to shedding a tear! I devoured this up within a day— like, this pulled me out of my reading slump, and slammed me right back into one 😭
This was the perfect small town romance with all the big feels! It was heartwarmingly witty, spicy and I loved it! I there was an expected although mutual, third act breakup, which I’m not even mad about because I loved everything about this book.
I love, loved Sage! She is sunshine personified in human form. Her love for animals, and the big heart she had to home them all, how she was with Fisher’s niece, Indy and how she was with Fisher just warmed my heart.
And Fisher, don’t even get me started on him! He was rough around the edges, but so soft and gooey on the inside— his inner monologue about Sage had me insanely giddy! He has a way with words, God, I’m never going to get over them and how perfect they are for each other.
I also need to know if Sage’s brothers, Silas, Ellis and Micah are going to get a book?!
Tropes
city boy x small town girl vibes
grumpy x sunshine
friends to lovers
single guardianship
forced proximity (they’re neighbours)
small town

Savor it was a gorgeous small town romance I very quickly became obsessed with! The characters, the plot, the banter and silliness. Spunes was a dream setting, I instantly wished to be transported there, it had the perfect small town charm. No wonder Fisher fell inlove.
Fisher and Sage were an absolutely ideal couple in my mind, they suited each other perfectly and they story was original whilst having those classical romantic elements. I love to cook so reading about a chef mmc was so fun, I adored it whenever he was in his element.
In general, this was very entertaining and lovely. The side characters were great and I’m definitely hoping this becomes a series. My favourite was Indy- she had that teenage essence whilst still being so sweet. Sages farm was also a great addition, it was genuinely cute to read about and seeing Fisher build connections with her animals.

I've read all of this author's books and for me, this is the best yet. Sage and Fisher are both struggling with loss, with expectations, and with who they actually want to be, and what starts off as a practical arrangement to help each other out swiftly becomes so much more. But just as strong as the central relationship is the town and characters around them. I've read a lot of romances set in small towns and to be honest some of them kind of start blending into each other after a while, but this one truly stands out for several reasons: the supporting cast and their complicated interactions, the variety of memorable animals, even the opening scene and its entertaining discussion on the town's new landmark. There's humour (who knew canoeing lessons could be so laden with innuendo?), there's swoony romance, there's heartbreaking honesty and there are some frankly mouthwatering food descriptions. There are also, I hope, more stories to be told from this particular world. I'm going to resist (heroically) making a pun on the book's title, but this is definitely one to dive into and truly enjoy.

I enjoyed this Dual POV sweet, healing Romance.
Our main characters are both going through it at the start of this novel. Throughout this novel we see them come together and help the other heal. Their relationship is slow building but filled with tense moments.
Tropes:
-City boy in a small town
-He begs
-Fake Dating
-Town Meetings
-Banter
-Tortured Chef
-Lots of rescue animals
I did struggle to connect with the characters for the first few chapters of this book, and did find the story to drag at times. I think the pacing could have done with some work. There is also a LOT of dialogue in this book, I found myself losing interest at times as a result.
That being said this is definitely a cute read and I would for sure check out more of this authors work!
Thankyou to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly just wanted to say thank you to NetGalley and Tarah Dewitt for this ARC of Savour It ☺️
This was such a cute and enjoyable read! I devoured the book in just over a day, which is always a sign that I loved the book!
Small town romance just has to be one of my favourite tropes and this book captured that trope so perfectly! It gave that warm and comforting feel to the book with all that small town magic and charm.
Fisher and Sage. Where do I even start. Firstly their banter!!! It had me laughing out loud. Where do I sign up to be Sage’s best friend?
One of my favourite things about their relationship was the communication. Miscommunication who? It wasn’t in this book thank goodness! Fisher and Sage knew how to healthily communicate and reading that was like a breath of fresh out. Reading those two work through their issues together and overcoming them was heartwarming.
Also the spice level was just perfect! The spice wasn’t overdone, it was written well. Spice in a book is a make or break for me. And it’s safe to say the spice in this book was perfectly done.
Small little mention to the twilight reference!!! I was kicking my feet. Any references to twilight and it’s immediately my favourite book 😂
Lastly, my favourite quote from the book:
“Sometimes courage is just quietly trying again”
Thank you again NetGalley and Tarah! Now an auto buy author! Can’t wait to see what she writes next ☺️💗

Oh, I loved this book! I didn’t think a book could feel like a comfort read whilst reading it for the first time but that’s exactly how I felt ready Savour It.
I adored both Sage and Fisher and how open and honest they were with each other. And all the side characters, human & animal, were perfect, I’d happily read books about everyone in the small town.
Thank you NetGalley and Tarah DeWitt for the ARC!

What a beautifully emotional story, full of great jokes, innuendos, puns, with a cute small town setting, and a touch of dealing with grief.
I loved the steadily building intimacy and closeness between Sage and Fisher, their communication, the initial friendship, all the little moments where they took care of each other in so many different ways.
And the farm! The animals were incredible, Sage's home made me wish I could live there too.
I just wish it was a little deeper in some aspects - Fisher moved to Spunes for a reason, which was barely actually explored, and I was a little disappointed that the festival didn't get any on page time. The whole story just left me wanting more, and I do think it should have been longer to allow a little more development.

★★★★☆ (4.5 stars)
Well that was bloomin’ adorable!
Savor It was an absolute joy to read. Fisher and Sage were a breath of fresh air! I immediately fell in love with these openly flawed and ridiculously loveable characters. The banter between all the characters, alongside the comical snippets of their inner thoughts is super endearing and kept me highly entertained throughout.
Indy and Fisher’s back story shows us we can’t get it right all the time, but we sure can try our best - and that’s often enough.
This book had me giggling and melting at the turn of every page. I truly did not want it to end. I hope to visit Spunes in the future and hear how Fisher & Sage are getting on. I’d also love to know where Wren & Ellis
end up!
This was SO close to being a 5 star read for me. The only thing that let it down was the feeling that it just needed something *more*. Perhaps a slight touch more conflict between Fisher and Sage to up the ante of the want and connection between them? I guess what I’m saying here is that I would have loved at least another 100 pages of Sage & Fisher’s story. The juicer the better!
I also felt we could have done with a little less monologuing - sometimes it’s justifiable, but there were also a few occasions where it felt just a little unnecessary and wordy for me
In summary, this was a total slay and I simply wanted more!
(Huge thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book! The above opinions are entirely my own.)

I'm not sure I really liked this one. I found the characters a bit meh and it took ages to get going. It had some good moments which I enjoyed. Would recommend to someone not familiar with the genre to ease them in.
