I really enjoyed this amazing heartfelt book about love, family, forgiveness, justice, and sacrifice. I’ve read many historical fiction books but never from the viewpoint of a German family. I loved this take on the time period. The characters were relatable and I really enjoyed seeing how they developed throughout the story. This book had romance, suspense, and twists along the way.

This was also a pretty quick read for historical fiction. Less than 300 pages. I did this as an audiobook and really loved the narrator's voice.

Thank you to NetGalley for my audio arc version of this book. I highly recommend it to any historical fiction reader.

I love historical fiction and The Berlin Sisters did not disappoint. This story follows two German Sisters and their involvement with helping their Jewish friends try to survive during WWII. I appreciate the author researching and basing parts of the story on real events.

Thank you NetGallery for this ARC!

I love Historical Fiction, and this is a great, thought provoking story. The narration is top notch!

This story is unique, and interesting, as unlike many HF stories during WWII, where the heroines are supporters of The Resistance from the get go, Ava is initially a supporter of Hitler. She is humbled as she realizes how wrong she has been, and then works to undo her wrongs. She becomes a brave fighter for the Resistance, from within Germany, in the fight for the innocent people of their country.

If you like HF, and dual points of view, check this book out! It comes out on May 16th! Highly recommend the audio version!

Thanks @brilliancepublishing & @sorayalaneauthor for the advance copy!

I truly enjoyed this story. In the beginning of the story Ava doesn’t realize the reality of what is happening in the war. One day she finds a family she knows in her families attic. She then realizes her parents and sister are helping Jewish families. Ava’s eyes are opened and she then starts helping others. I am so happy I got to listen to this audio. I was engaged in the story the whole time.

WW2 will always hold a special place in my heart. For a long time, that was all I read. This book reminded me why.

The world looked so different during that time period. It was a horrific time to be alive but also… the resilience of people and their willingness to fight back? That’s what I love. The resistance. The people who risked everything to help others. I love those stories. And that’s exactly what this is.

Even more though, this books explores how someone growing up in Germany could so easily be brainwashed into believing the lies they were told. And the journey to changing their way of thinking.

Hanna and Ava are apart of the ideal German family. At least on the outside. Both are taking great risks to help save the lives of others. This story is about bravery, sacrifice, and resilience.

The narrator did a wonderful job. I listened to the entire book in a day and just couldn’t turn it off.

Anyone who loves historical fiction set in WW2, read this!!! This book is a stunner! Honestly I only picked it up because "Sisters" was in the title.

This is a hard hitting book. The author brilliantly wrote about the beautiful characteristics we all hope to have. Honor, respect, love, doing the right thing, and humanism. Absolutely a ride to read. You find yourself routing for this family through Hannah and Ava's experiences.

Many thanks to Net Galley and Brilliance Audio for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A story following two sisters in Germany under the Nazi Regime. It is a story of the family, their father is a high ranking German offiicial, and they are able to gain benefits from that. Ava and Hanna Müller are put in positions of reviewing what they have come to know and expect through society and propaganda, and finding out the actual truth of what is going on. This is their journey through unpacking, unlearning, and resisting from within.

This is powerful.

Bravery, sacrifice, and resilience take center stage in this gripping tale set in war-torn Berlin. ‘The Sisters of Berlin’ follows Ava and Hanna Müller, two sisters whose loyalty to their country is tested when they uncover their family’s secret involvement in the resistance. As they navigate the dangerous world of espionage and betrayal, the sisters must confront the horrifying truth about the regime they once believed in. A poignant and thought-provoking read that pays tribute to the unsung heroes who fought against tyranny from within.

An inspiring novel about two woman in Germany during WW2. A slower paced novel but the audiobook was well done

I look forward to every book that Lane writes. Her words are always emotional, detailed and stories that keep my glued to the pages until late at night.
This one is about two sisters, Ava and Hanna Muller. Their dad is a high-ranking German. But the family is hiding something. Ava has always been loyal to the Germans and she is a secretary to Joseph Goebbel. She transcribes his notes and reports daily.
When Ava discovers what her sister and father are up too, will she risk her family or will she help them? A very emotional read in the mist of the war as Jews are being rounded up and the Nazis are wreaking havoc.
