This book immerses us in the enchanting world of Morgan Pendragon, now Morgan Le Fay. Rejecting a destined future, she flees the Siabra fae and the Prince of Claws, returning to Camelot to confront the perilous reign of Arthur. The intricate plot unveils political intrigue before intensifying in the final chapters. As the third installment in the "Blood of a Fae" series, following "Queen of Roses" and "Court of Claws," this book is a gripping continuation. The narrative skillfully explores Morgan's reunion with old friends, the evolution of relationships, and the emergence of new enemies. The communication between Morgan and Draven and the satisfying revenge adds emotional depth. I praise the author's writing, character development, and the inclusion of fantastical elements. The compelling plot leaves me eagerly anticipating the next book.

Fantastc follow up, the characters are brilliant but, the abrupt endings take away some enjoyment for me.

“I’m on my way to you, Morgan. Did you really think in a million years and a million lifetimes that I’d ever be able to stay away?” 🥹🥲

If you loved Fourth Wing/ Iron Flame and ACOTAR this series is for you! We love a dark king, shadow daddy, “touch her and die” vibe and the blood of a fae series checks all those boxes.

Each book has gotten better and better. I loved this book so much! The twist on the legend of King Arthur with fae and magic is done well. Morgan and Draven’s relationship is 😮‍💨. I was worried she would be annoying in this book (she annoyed me through book 2 because I felt like she was so dramatic and immature towards the end) but she redeemed herself!

This book has multiple POVs which was refreshing. It picks up right where you left off in book 2 without rehashing a lot of details. I was nervous there wouldn’t be any spice and Morgan would spend the entire book angry but I was pleasantly surprised and the method of keeping their connect was so creative! The action and excitement start right from the beginning and there were a lot of twists and turns along the way. I’m looking forward to finishing book 4 and seeing where the story ends up.

This is definitely one of my new favorite series! Thank you NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for an e-copy in exchange for an honest review 💗

This series has quickly become one of my favorites. Fast paced, high stakes, lots of little twists and turns along the way to keep me interested. I appreciate that these books pick up right where the last left off without too much rehashing and reminding us what happened before. Although I didn't like book three as much as book two, I am excited to get to book four and see how things play out.

Divided by Oceans but Eternally Bonded

This third book in the Blood of the Fae series had me on the edge of my seat! The book picks up right where the last one left off, with Morgan back in Camelot while Draven crosses oceans to be at her side once more.

The characters continue to develop as the plot further draws upon Arthurian lore but putting it's own spin on it.

I cannot wait to read the final book!

Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing Netgalley Coop for proving me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Morgan and Draven’s story continues (separately) and I am SO relieved absence made her heart grow fonder! (None of the drawn out female anger and angst against her mate because he lied, etc just to end up together anyway) The primary focus is Morgan catching up on Camelot and her wild ride back into, and once she’s in, the castle. Fast-paced, never dull, and beautifully detailed. This series has me HOOKED. I’m so sad there is only one installment left.. I could stay in this world forever!

Empress of Fae draws readers in immediately and has you existing within its pages. For me, this series topped acotar and fbaa. To say I am OBSESSED with this series, would be an understatement!

3.75 rounded up to 4

This book picks up where the last one left off. Except this one has multiple POVs and I always really enjoy that. Although Morgan’s POV is definitely shown most.

I feel like this book focuses a lot on Morgan’s development, especially when it comes to fighting skills. It also gives more insight to Morgan’s past as well as to what’s going on in this world. We love some court politics in this household! We also get to see some more wonderful Draven development and content. And who here doesn’t want that?

And boy oh boy did we get some plot twists and reveals. I will DEFINITELY be reading the next and final book in this series!

I found this book much more fast-paced - the beginning didn’t drag at all, like I found with the previous two books. I also feel like the world-building improved in this book too. And this one definitely got darker!

And I love the name Fenyx.

I feel the need to share my favorite quote from this book: “Bargaining with a devil may grant one many things, but peace was never one of them.” That hit so hard. Such a good quote.

Thank you NetGalley for a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review! My review is already up on Goodreads and my review on TikTok will be up with my monthly wrap-up at the end of the month.

Thank Starwater Press and Net Galley for this ARC.

So firstly OMG, Briar writes so beautifully that you forget that the world Aercanum that Mogran and Draven occupy isn't real. I was immersed, and yes I know this is in the blurb, but omg- this line gave me all the feels

"𝖲𝗁𝖺𝗍𝗍𝖾𝗋𝖾𝖽 𝗈𝗋 𝗐𝗁𝗈𝗅𝖾. 𝖪𝗇𝖾𝖾𝗅𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝗈𝗋 𝗌𝗍𝖺𝗇𝖽𝗂𝗇𝗀. 𝖨'𝗅𝗅 𝗀𝖾𝗍 𝗍𝗈 𝗁𝖾𝗋, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖨 𝗐𝗈𝗇'𝗍 𝖾𝗏𝖾𝗋 𝗅𝖾𝖺𝗏𝖾. 𝖳𝗁𝗂𝗌 𝗍𝗂𝗆𝖾, 𝖨'𝗅𝗅 𝗆𝖺𝗄𝖾 𝗁𝖾𝗋 𝗎𝗇𝖽𝖾𝗋𝗌𝗍𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝗐𝗁𝖺𝗍 𝗐𝖾 𝖺𝗋𝖾, 𝗍𝗈𝗀𝖾𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗋. 𝖠𝗇𝖽 𝗂𝖿 𝖺𝗇𝗒𝗈𝗇𝖾 𝖽𝖺𝗋𝖾𝗌 𝗍𝗈 𝗁𝗎𝗋𝗍 𝗁𝖾𝗋, 𝖨'𝗅𝗅 𝖻𝗎𝗋𝗇 𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗆 𝗍𝗈 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗀𝗋𝗈𝗎𝗇𝖽 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁𝗈𝗎𝗍 𝖺 𝗌𝖾𝖼𝗈𝗇𝖽 𝗍𝗁𝗈𝗎𝗀𝗁𝗍."

And the book follows the story of Morgan who's destiny is lowly unveiling and we are learning more her past, her burgeoning powers and
also simultaneously we are seeing her relationship with Draven who is still trying to win her/ claim her play out. THIS IS AN AMAZING STORY. Right up there with ACOTAR, and the Empyrean series.

I really loved the slow burn romance, the entire magic system and how every single character grows and develops escpecially Morgan and Draven,

I couldn't wait to read the final book in the series and at the same time, I knew it was going to be the penultimate book in this series and was slightly sad and dreading it getting to the last book at the same time.

I highly rate this book and this series.

Empress of Fae is the third book in the Blood of a Fae series. This book is engaging and full of surprises, with a fast-paced plot that kept me hooked from start to finish. The revelations about the heroine's past added depth to the story, while the new dangers facing the Knights of the Round Table raised the stakes even higher. The epilogue also offered an intriguing insight into the legend of King Arthur. I look forward to delving into the final installment of the series.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for the opportunity to read and review this eARC.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing the eARC of 'Empress of Fae' by Briar Boleyn in exchange for my honest review 💫

"𝐼'𝑑 𝑟𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑏𝑒 𝑎 𝑣𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑏𝑦 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑜 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑠𝑒. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑣𝑖𝑙𝑒, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝐼'𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑝𝑡ℎ𝑠 𝑜𝑓 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑡𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓"

And the saga continues!! The story picks right up after the cliffhanger of the second book and I'm obsessed! There are so many things going on. There are new characters, character developments, plots, twists, battles, smut.
With the multiple POV's (mostly of the main characters) the story gets so much depth and brings it to a higher level!
The book ends on a small cliffhanger, so I have to read book 4 as soon as possible! 🤭

She is fed up. Everyone seems to underestimate her but continue to wait for her to be the hero.

My heart hurts with some chapters. It was almost as if I could feel their pain on the pages.

The imagery used placed me in the middle of the story.

I don’t want more. I need more.

4.5 stars!
Oh boy. I'm absolutely loving this series. Which is based off of King Arthur and the Knights of the round table. Book 3 and can I just say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Haha. Morgan had her moments of annoyance for me in this book but over all she is a force to be reckoned with. There is so much action and adventure happening in these books that they fly by! Can't wait to read the final book!

This third book in the series is just as thrilling as the first ones. We uncover new elements about our heroine's mysterious past, but not only that; new revelations reveal the extent of the danger facing the Knights of the Round Table.

I appreciated the fast-paced nature of the book; it immerses you in the story and keeps you pleasantly surprised with numerous unexpected twists and turns. Reading the epilogue, I also stumbled upon an interesting and little-known fact about the legend of King Arthur. I can't wait to dive into the last book of the series!

A big thank you to NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for graciously providing an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Favorite quote: “That’s where you’re mistaken, Fenyx. I’m no princess. You’re addressing the wife of Prince Kairos Draven Venator and the Empress of the Court of Umbral Flames and the empire of Myntra.”
Sum of this book in 5 words or less: N/A

Themes: retelling, family, murder, assault

Thoughts:

Short summary - Morgan is in Camelot trying to painstakingly put together the pieces of her old life. Draven watches her disappear through a portal and takes off after her in a fleet of ships to help her fight the battle she’s been desperate to have.

Draven and Nightclaw losing their connections to Morgan was absolutely devastating when it happened. Arthur finally perishing was great if we didn’t know that he regretted everything in the end. I absolutely loved the badassness of all of the females in this book - it really makes everything so much better!

When you think a series couldn't get more epic then this book is here to proofe you wrong!
Since I was a fan of the first two books it shouldn't be a surprise that I was loving this one just as much. I like that you didn't loose tension over the books and that it still felt like a lot was going on. Sometimes you ask yourself where this is going but this gives you a clear direction, which is great!
The tropes are as good as they can be in a king arthur retelling: Fae Mates, Multi-POV, Spice and Found Family

Morgan has returned home to take care of business and protect the ones she loves. Book 3 did not disappoint. This books continues to provide background to Morgan’s birth parents and siblings. The pages take you through a magical adventure full of suspense that will leave you reading late into the night. Many thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy to read. I am excited for the fourth book to see what happens to Morgan and friends on their continued adventure.

The cover of this book is so beautiful! I loved this book along with the rest of the series! the author is truly an amazing writer as the world building and character descriptions had me hooked from the start

Empress of Fae is the third book in the Blood of a fae series and since the last book ended on a cliffhanger, I was very keen to read this book. I guess my expectations for this book were too high.. there were characters in this book/ series I wish I had read and known more about. Unfortunately that won’t be possible anymore and so their stories remain untold and open.
My favourite Character so far remains the bearkin Hawl.
After reading this book I know for certain that Morgan’s Character is not going to improve in the sense of she’s not likely to be a smart, witty, sometimes cunning and decisive female lead. I want her to be that powerful fMC soo badly😩. Her sister and Guinevere were so much more interesting… Very disappointing. I was hoping to find out more about her mother and her past in her dreams..

But as always I have lots of hope for Morgan in the next and last book.

Thank you Netgalley for copies of this entire series.

Continuing seamlessly from the heart-stopping cliffhanger of Court of Claws, this latest installment catapults readers into an even more intense roller coaster of events.
Morgan's return to Camelot only confirms her worst fears: her unstable brother's grip on power has plunged the kingdom into chaos. Determined to thwart his destructive ambitions, Morgan finds herself facing unimaginable challenges as she navigates the tumultuous landscape of her fractured homeland.
Amidst the turmoil, Morgan's character undergoes further development, showcasing her unwavering resolve and willingness to make personal sacrifices for the greater good. The narrative delves deeper into her journey of growth, exploring themes of redemption and reconciliation as she seeks to mend fractured relationships from past installments. Her bond with her mate deepens, radiating with a profound sense of devotion that resonates with readers.
Unlike its predecessor, this book offers a reprieve from cliffhangers, closing on a note of anticipation for the future rather than leaving readers dangling on the edge.
I am starting the final book immediately, eager to witness the culmination of Morgan's journey and the resolution of the intricate plot threads woven throughout the series. It's been an exhilarating ride thus far, and I do not doubt that the conclusion will be spectacular.
