This one was even better than the first one! I loved the change of scenery. I love Draven. He was willing to sacrifice so much for Morgan. The trials were awesome and kept me in the story! I was on the edge of my seat wanting more!

3.5 stars
It was an engaging read overall, although a few things didn't sit very well with me. The first one being it reminded me so much of the first and second books of ACOTAR series with the trials for throne and Morgan having to "pretend" to be Draven's consort.
We didn't get to see Morgan gaining proper control over her power up until the end of the book which was very convenient given she didn't even train properly.

Big thanks to Starwater Press, Briar Boleyn and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions!
I really enjoyed the first book, as it laid out the foundation for the rest of the books and especially the world building and understanding the religious beliefs and its evolution.
What might throw off some readers was the complete change of scenery for this second book, but in my case it didn’t bother me as much as it might have. I enjoyed learning about more characters (that are important for the rest of the story and especially getting to know where Draven comes from!).
If you’re into trials, like ACOTAR or the serpent and the wings of night, you’ll certainly enjoy some parts of this book, but I did feel like it was once again too short.
The romance and spice are starting to happen, but it’s nothing compared to what comes in the following books which is fine by me, the tension is building up !
I usually feel like I can tell where the story is going quite quickly, but I’ll have to admit I had no idea how this whole series would end. Like the first book, I’d say that it’s very entraining and I was excited to read book 3.

This one was interesting. This book was spent not doing the task from the first book so I wasn’t ready for that, but I did end up liking this book. That we got what was going on with his land I like the games that were played. I thought this one was well done. I totally understood her with her frustrations of being caged, but also wanting to help him, but I was frustrated that she ran away from him was frustrated at how she took the ending even though I understood at the same time so it was interesting. I can’t wait for book 3..

Court of Claws has a complete different plot than book 1, Queen of Roses, and i don’t think that’s a bad thing. if you would’ve asked me, after reading book 1, what i thought book 2 was gonna be about, i would’ve never guessed anything close to the actual plot of book 2. very curious about how book 3 and 4 will go and what plottwists we’ll get in those 🫣

Just finished a reread of "Court of Claws" by Briar Boleyn and it didn’t disappoint! Picking up where "Queen of Roses" left off, this book throws Morgan Pendragon into the perilous court of the Siabra. The dark magic is more captivating than ever.
The chemistry between Morgan and Draven remains spicy, their banter and evolving relationship keeping me hooked. Morgan's character growth is impressive as she learns to harness her powers and navigate the complex fae society. Draven's backstory adds depth to his character, making their bond even more intriguing.
Finished the book and I’m eagerly moving on to the next one! Briar, you’ve crafted another gem. If dark fantasy with strong characters and an epic love story is your thing, dive into this series. It’s a must-read!

I love when the second book is as good as the first. Morgan and Draven kept me coming back for more the entire time.
This book picks up right where the other left off. It builds an amazing world in the Court of Umbral Flames , and dives deeper into both Morgan And Draven’s story. At times, I felt that Morgan’s behavior toward Draven was unwarranted and irrational, but I love a man who doesn’t give up.
The secrets and personal histories of them both really develop their characters and plot in an intriguing way. I binged it in just a few days. I’m running to start the next book!

- Slow-burn romance
- Morally grey MMC
- World building
- Enemies to lovers
- Forced Prox
- One bed
- Touch her and die
- Found family
Check the trigger warnings.
The retelling of Arthur with a Fae twist continues in Court of Claws. We finally see a bit more character development with Morgan. She is introduced to a new world with new characters. As she slowly warms up to the new environment, she opens her heart and mind up to new possibilities and growth. Draven, however, did not display much character growth but did show his true colors magnificently. We learn more about his past, his land, and even how manipulative he can be.
The ending had me immediately jumping into the third book.
Thank you Starwater Press, Briar Boleyn, and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

The slowwww burn continues and the 'touch him and die' trope got me! Vivid descriptions of both new creatures/characters alongside settings built up an already enthralling world. The FMC still isn't my favorite and annoyed me at times, but i can sense the growth inching along. Aaand i'm obsessed with the MMC, morally grey or not. Book three.. here i come!!!
Thank you to Net Galley and Starwater press for the opportunity to read an E-ARC of Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great read! If you love fantasy books then look no further. You won’t regret picking up this book to read!

A court of claws has blown me away with the depth and developments. The forced proximity and the flip between victim & victor in the relationship between them. Desperate for more! The trials blew me away & I’m really trying not to spoil it but smut, story, magic & darkness

Overall I enjoyed this story of Morgan Pendragon, however, I found the first book of the series more enjoyable, but that is probably because of the amount of trigger warnings that were needed for this book, and it put me on edge just starting to read it. That being said I am definitely looking forward to the next installment

Nope, just nope. I didn't like the first book but was determined to continue this series in the hopes that it would turn around but I just can't do it. Morgan is so annoying and immature, more immature than what a 20 yr old should be. 15% in and I just can't take her any more. Draven was the only highlight of this series but even my curiosity in his character can't convince me to continue.

“I see you, Morgan Pendragon. I see you truly for everything you are and everything you will be and I claim you as mine.”
Tropes: Slow-burn romance, enemies-to-lovers, Arthurian retelling, dark romance, fae, fake relationship, only-one-bed, compete for the throne
Thank you, NetGalley, Briar Boleyn, and Starwater Press for providing me with a free copy of this book to review.
I very much enjoyed reading this story. While I found the first book to be a solid intro to the series and the world, this second installment kept me hooked unlike the first one ever did. It was exciting. The relationships between characters were superbly fleshed out and each new name introduced felt like they actually contributed to the story in some way.
Draven again stole the show for me. I found myself looking forward to his scenes and actually preferring that he be included in the storyline more often. He’s a good example of a morally gray love interest. Yes, he has his faults, but these flaws are what makes him so layered, so realistic, and authentic. Morgan, on the other hand, lost some points for me during this book. While in book one she was headstrong, stubborn, and naive, in the sequel I found her mannerisms to be off-putting rather than charming. I found her naivety to be such a great addition to her character. This is missing in Court of Claws, causing her reactions to things to become tedious and annoying. I don’t think she’s a bad character overall, but I feel like this missing layer of her personality takes away from her positive aspects. Strong female leads are great. If you’re not careful, however, these characters can quickly become the most irritating part of the story.
I’m excited to continue this series. These books have some of the best cliffhangers. I’m always drawn to read what happens next. To close out my review, I will say that this series is a must-read for anyone who is a fan of adult fantasy romances. It has spice, action, and a balanced amount of shock appeal. Draven will surely make you swoon.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was able to devour it but there were moments where I was so annoyed with the characters and their whiplash of moods and actions! But overall it was a good book!

The story of Morgan Pendragon continues where she awakes and everything and everyone she ever held dear has vanished! The man she loved is dead and not a man she barely knows is in his place and she finds herself in the deadly court of the Siabra. She finds herself centered around deceitful people and she just wants to escape! Except this Kairo Draven wants her as close to him as possible.
Morgan and Kairo do not even realize that past mistakes are coming after them both. As the Prince of Claws will smother Kingdoms in blood for Morgan’s sake!
I am loving this series so much. It is a book with non stop action with plots that are making me gasping for air. As this clever writer writes another enchanting book I could not put downs. It absolutely captivated me from start to finish!
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy and an advance reader from the publisher. I voluntarily agreed to do a fair review and blog through netgalley. All thoughts, ideas and words are my own.

Yet again I am on the edge of my seat! This whole book was fast paced, high stakes, enemies to lovers to enemies.
The FMC did annoy me throughout but I am loving her character development!
Bonds, mates, trials, betrayal! I read this book in two days, could not put it down.

Thank you to Briar Boleyn, Starwater Press, NetGalley for the ebook to celebrate the release of the fourth and final book in the series. I read this book in a day. I was totally into the different voices in this book and the character development of the side characters. Sometimes I felt like Morgan was a bit indecisive and her story line was a bit drawn out. However I liked the plot line in this book so much more than book #1. I was hooked on the description of the Siabra lifestyle.

Briar, you did not disappoint! It's rare for me to enjoy a second volume as much as the first one in the series. But this, this was delicious. The tension, the characters' evolution, the secrets...I need these in my physical bookshelves! Pleaaaaase!

I liked this book, even though I kind of knew how it was going to end. I liked that the story went more in a romance direction while still keeping the fantasy element. The characters were engaging and the story went at a good pace.
