Do you really know the person you are marrying or in a relationship with?
Alex and Clive both have something in common when they start seeing each other and eventually marry. They both have missing siblings. But what if they both know more than they lead on. And will their secrets ever come to light..
At first I thought it's too obvious that alex did anything.. the book just started and then another thing happens.. something else adds to the mystery. And maybe there is more to the story. This book kept me interested until the end. I juat needed to know what happened and how it was going to end. Your secrets will always catch up to you. No matter how deep you think you buried them.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.
This is my second book by Georgina Cross and it definitely wont be my last. This one was great from the first page and kept me guessing through out the whole book. This book is told from the POV of Lauren, who just found out her husband may have been involved with her sisters death- 12 years earlier.. I also really enjoyed the dual timelines and how they complimented each other. While I did enjoy the story overall, I wish we got a little more from the ending.
🎧The narration of this book was done very well. I really enjoyed how you were able to feel the emotions of the character through the audiobook.
🌸Definitely check this one out if you love :

This was a good read that kept me guessing until the end. Full of twists and turns and unexpected events that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I binge read this in a day so that I could get to the end which was unexpected. Who can you trust or believe…you won’t know until the end.

Wow!! Hooked!! A great cat and mouse style thriller. Pacing and structure were sound! Fast popcorn thriller with descriptive scenes of jazzy NOLA. So many secrets 🤫 the characters were insufferable at times but totally worth it! I read this in 24 hours! Can’t wait for more Georgina Cross!
This book wasn’t what I expected really, it was rather slow to begin with then it got really good. I’m so glad that I didn’t give up reading it as I was hooked with all the twists and turns throughout the rest of it. I stuck to it as I have read a few books by this author and they are all excellent. The characters were great, the story itself was enjoyable and the style of writing was perfect. Im looking forward to the next book out.. I would highly recommend this and its author to anyone that likes reading psychological thrillers.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.
The Perfect Husband is a fast-paced and easy read. Who doesn’t love a domestic thriller chock full of marital secrets. You will zoom through this book and not see the twists coming.
Thank you Netgalley and Georgina Cross for giving me this opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
First, I want to thank Georgia Cross, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing this book for me so I can bring you this review.
WOW!!! Georgina Cross you have me wanting to jump in my car and travel to Pittsburgh just to give my sister a big ol hug!! My Perfect Husband is an emotionally driven, fast paced, totally addictive read that I devoured in one sitting! It is one of Georgina’s best right up there with Nanny Needed! This deserves way more than 5 stars and should be put on your TBR list!
I can’t even begin to imagine the emotional and mental pain that Lauren went through when her sister Ellie went missing. Not to mention always dreading that call where one day you will find out the fate of your sister! I put myself into her shoes and felt every emotion she was going through! I just wanted to jump into the book and pull her into a hug.
Where are the tissues when I need them? My heart broke even more when Lauren had to go to the nursing facility and break the news to her elderly father. I actually started tearing up during some of their scenes.
One thing I found interesting was the section about the flowers, the color and their meaning.
My Perfect Husband is an incredible story that will blow your mind! There are so many shock worthy moments, wicked twists and turns, and you will question everything you know about someone.
Lauren’s sister, Ellie, has been missing for 12 years. Her husband, Alex, shares a similar trauma; his brother is also missing. This trauma brings them together when they meet in college and attend a trauma group. However, this connection could be their downfall. Someone knows the truth about Ellie’s disappearance, and the truth will eventually come out.
The idea for this book grabbed my attention; ‘My sister is dead. Did I marry her killer?’. Then the introduction really grabbed my attention; someone is watching a man and a woman on a balcony. The woman is leaning on the rail. It snaps and she falls forward, plummeting towards the hard Earth.
The dramatics of this missing person case keeps the reader engaged. When the missing person case became an investigation into 2 deaths, it was difficult to put the book down.
Unfortunately, the end of the book, and the ‘big reveals’ didn’t feel that big to me. I wasn’t expecting the ending to go exactly as it did, but I wasn’t enthralled by the twist.
3.5 ⭐️
This is an addicting thriller packed with a lot of suspense and mystery. Lauren is desperate to find her missing sister who disappeared 12 years ago. There are so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming! I was so shocked and I loved how the tension just continually builds. I could have never guessed the ending!
Thank you so much Bookouture and NetGalley for the arc!
My Perfect Husband was a well-plotted, fast paced, entertaining thriller.
Lauren’s sister has been missing for 12 years when she gets a call from a New Orleans detective to say that her sister Ellie’s body has been uncovered. This is a quick, easy read, full of twists and turns. The characters are richly developed and the New Orleans setting added an atmospheric feel to the novel. The story unfolds in dual timelines which are easy to follow.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for the ARC.
I love the cover of My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross. The question on the front, "My sister is dead. Did my husband kill her?" sets up the reader with questions in their head right from the start.
The premise of the book was interesting, and I wanted to really like the story. A psychological thriller about home-life is usually one of my favorite types of books to read. Here is the problem that I had with the book. I felt like the author kept telling us the same clues over and over, like I wouldn't remember them later. Also the ending didn't really tie in with the beginning. I can't explain why without giving it away, but it just didn't make sense to me.The extra characters in the book just didn't seem to truly add to the story, especially the father.
That being said, even though I didn't love the book, I think a lot of other people would really like it. Other reviewers enjoyed the plot twist at the end. I admit, I did want to keep reading to find out if her husband was really the killer or not. That is why I gave it three out of five stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for sharing this book with me. This is based on my honest review.
Lauren's missing sister has finally turned up after ten long years of hopeless searching, and unfortunately it's not the news Lauren wanted to hear. Even worse, a photo suggests that Lauren's loving husband, the man who supported Lauren through years of grief and not knowing, may have met with her sister just before she went missing. Twist after twist pops up after that over the course of the book, which is entirely told from Lauren's POV in past and present timelines to keep the reader close to Lauren's thoughts and feelings, but even then the ending was one I didn't fully expect. Strongly recommend. Thanks to Bookouture, the author, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
Lauren’s sister, Ellie, disappeared from New Orleans 12 years ago, an event that shattered Lauren and her family. After years of searching, Ellie’s remains turn up in a crumbling house in a run-down neighborhood. In her pocket is a picture of Ellie with two men, one of whom is Lauren’s husband, Alex. When and why did they meet, and why didn’t Alex tell Lauren he knew her sister?
I have mixed feelings about this book. I felt like the premise was strong, and I liked the dual timelines. The twists didn’t have as much of an impact as I would have liked, though I did appreciate the ending, which some might not like. Overall, it’s 3.5 stars rounded down for me. I think people who really like this author will probably love this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for then opportunity to read and review this book.
Wow! A brilliant and twisty thriller that had me floored!
Lauren and Alex were drawn together by their shared trauma of having a missing sibling. Neither of them will ever give up on finding their loved ones and the support they show to each other demonstrates the depth of their love.
When Lauren gets the call she has been waiting for for twelve years, some shocking evidence is discovered which makes Lauren question everything and everyone, including Alex. The characters and the back stories are well written and the present day events are super tense. I suspected everyone at some point and could never have guessed the truth. It was a huge jaw dropping moment!
Well played, Georgina Cross, I can't wait for more from this talented author. As always, Stephanie Cannon's narration was spot on.
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Georgina Cross and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.
I never read anything by this author. This is my first. But this book has led me to want to read more. Loved it. 😍
My Perfect Husband by by Georgina Cross and narrated by Stephanie Cannon was a brilliant and I found it hard to stop my audiobook, once I started to listen to it. So, my phone/audiobook went shopping etc with me!!! lol.
My Perfect Husband was an excellent psychological thriller which was full of suspense throughout and then with a jaw dropping ending! WoW it was so good!
I highly recommend this audiobook/book. Great read from start to finish.
Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture, Bookouture audio for my audiobook and Book to read etc.
I love Georgina Cross and this book delivered all of her usual twists and turns just as I hoped it would.
I was hoping so much that Lauren would be able to trust Alex. I was rooting for them as a couple. Was I right? You'll have to read it for yourself to find out and I certainly recommend that you do....
Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy. It is my pleasure to write an honest review.
Love this author and have absolutely adored every single one of her books. And this one - just wonderful. Amazing. All the superlatives! Loved loved loved! Very highly recommend it.
This was an easy read. Had nice short chapters and kept me wondering what would happen next!
Lauren’s sister Ellie has been missing for a number of years. Lauren’s husband Alex, also has a brother, Clive that has been missing for years as well.
Ellie’s remains have been found, and with her remains are a couple of photos with some familiar faces. The twists and turns pick up and only get better from there!
This book had an interesting plot and while I didn’t love the author’s writing style, it was well-executed…for the most part.
The story was a little too focused on the protagonist. I would’ve liked to hear more from (or about) the book’s other characters.
The ending definitely left something to desired. As the book came to a close, I just wasn’t sure how to feel.
3.6 rounded up to 4.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
