Ok so to preface this, I am a HUGE F1/McLaren fan and I think you have to have preexisting knowledge of the sport to enjoy this book. That being said, I really enjoyed the formatting of the book! The pictures and accompanying history was fun to learn/walk back through. I learned some new information and got a better feel for the McLaren history. I did feel like it was more engineering based rather than historical and some of the book drags because of it. I did enjoy it though and would recommend it to any F1 fan.

I received this book as an eARC from Quarto Publishing Group through NetGalley and this review is based on my own opinion.

This book is about the evolution of the McLaren cars from the very beginning until the latest car in the field.
The chapters are short and they are all accompanied by gorgeous photos.

I would advise to only read it if you're really interested in the cars and details of it because it does contain a lot of info and technical talk that was a bit too much and overwhelming for a girl who watches Formula 1 for the sport and doesn't really know anything about the cars and it's parts 😅.

But apart from that the writing was great so if you're really into it, it would be a great book to read.

This book is a fantastic in-depth look into the history of one of the most iconic F1 Teams. Takes you from the humble beginnings all the way to the legend of today. The photos are amazing, just seeing the evolution of the cars through the years is a real treat. It’s a must read for any McLaren fan and should be read by anyone with an interest in F1.

This beautiful collection details 60 years of McLaren Formula 1 race cars. I have occasionally watched Formula 1 racing, but admittedly Indycar racing holds my interest more but as McLaren has also gotten involved in Indycar racing, I was interested in reading this book.
Bruce McLaren was a New Zealander who was a driver, a car designer, and an engineer. Sadly he was killed in 1970 performing testing in his Can-Am car. The McLaren team, however, carried on and produced some great Formula 1 drivers over the years (my favorite being Emerson Fitipaldi who also went on to have a great racing career in Indycar).

This was a beautiful book to flip through and read. It details the years of the McLaren team through the cars they ran. This would be a great present for a racing fan.

Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I will post my review on Amazon on publication day.

The photography is mind-blowing . . . such a beautiful book. I would love to see this in hand, as opposed to seeing it only in the app. Well-written and also fun to read. The layout is wonderful and, once again, the photography in this book is simply outstanding !!
