Are you confident when you look in the mirror? Sadly, by the age of 15, over half of us aren't and we imagine that this percentage increases with time.

Pressure from others, social media and ourselves, not to mention advertising, filters and dangerous sizeism has left most of us with an internal dialogue telling us that we are not good enough and if we are unkind to ourselves, how can we expect others to be any different.

This book educates our preteens and teens on the damage that ever increasing pressure from socials and society can do to us in the long term and the author provides research based tools to equip our children to challenge these. She provides a refreshing voice to counter those harmful ones and encourages promotion of self love.

With beautiful illustrations and an engaging presentation style, this wonderful book also gives our younger generation information about customs and traditions which support a more positive outlook on this important topic.

"The Body Confidence Book" by Professor Phillippa Diedrichs is a timely and essential read for teens navigating today's complex societal pressures. This groundbreaking book serves as a beacon of empowerment, encouraging readers to respect and appreciate their bodies in a world that often promotes unrealistic standards.

I found this book incredibly educational, shedding light on the harmful impact of societal pressures on body image and self-worth. Diedrichs' research-backed insights provide readers with valuable tools to challenge and disrupt these harmful narratives.

In an age where children and teens are growing up surrounded by constant societal pressures, "The Body Confidence Book" offers a refreshing and empowering perspective. It not only educates but also inspires readers to embrace body positivity and self-love. A must-read for anyone looking to cultivate a healthier and more positive relationship with their body!

What a great book for kids to learn body confidence! I wish I had this book when I was kid because society tells us even as children how we are supposed to look and I never looked that way, so I'm sure this book would have been my best friend. I can see my younger patrons loving this book!

This book was needed when I was a teenager growing up! Every single person should read this! Not only for their own confidence but for the knowledge of other people’s traditions, customs, backgrounds and feelings. Beautifully illustrated throughout and different fonts, styles and formatting mean that you can choose to skim read or properly read cover to cover. When this is published, I will be buying a physical copy for my teenage daughter.

First off, I'm not the target group for this book at all; while I work with teenagers/ young adults the book is clearly meant for younger readers. I still enjoyed the book a lot, it is informative and accessible and it makes me beyond happy that books like these might help young minds develop a healthy relationship with their body.

This is an absolutely fantastic book for any parent with a tween or teen. I read it with my 9 year old and will leave it for her to read alone. I worry often about teenagers growing up in a social media spotlight but this book was a fantastic conversation starter for us to talk about body positivity. I recieved this book as an ARC from netgalley

This is a wonderful book to use for younger children/ preteens to talk about body image and respect of your/ others bodies. I have a young daughter but we often talk about how her body is not an object, she can speak up if someone makes her uncomfortable, and she is beautiful no matter what. I actually downloaded this because she saw a man wearing nail polish and she asked me about it (she loved it by the way!) This book does a great job talking about preferences and the illustrations make it more friendly for younger readers. Definitely a good read. The statistic of 60% of people have body image issues is high but sadly not shocking. If anything, I would have thought more. I recommend this book!
